A very poor environment and staffing. The food was mediocre with steak-tips being cold, bottom burger buns being moist and soggy, and giving my little brother 12 Frenchs fries to accommodate his small bowl of Mac n Cheese. We had 0 refills when promted the request by placing our empty glasses neer the edge of the table. The manger's seemed unprofessional and were disrespectful towards the hostess. Other than a nice waiter and the manager taking one of the meals off the bill, the food was terrible. A couple of us ordered Surf & Turfs with steak. The steak was bland and barely tasted like it was marinated. The shrimp skewers were terrible and barely Luke warm. The seafood trio was literally just a ton of butter in a dish with tiny shrimp, tiny scallops, and barely any fish. It had no seasoning and was super bland with almost nothing to eat due to the tiny portions! This is technically not about the food because I never received it! I ordered from here at 9:30pm and my only delivery option is Poor Dash... I paid 30.00 this is this first( and last) time I used Door dash. It tells me to make sure my porch light is on so I stand out on my porch and wait for the driver. I get a message saying he's going to be here in one minute. Wonderful I'm starving, one, two, three, four minutes go by and my phone rings. I was trying to tell him I knew we had a really Go because he didn't understand me. Then he hung up on me. I cancel my order and contact DoorDash. This is where it gets wonderful now because the world is going to see this I'm not gonna swear like I would like to blow it up. Proceeds to tell me that sorry that's it. They're sorry. I got a seven dollar refund oh but he gave me the four dollar tip back. Said I couldn't get my dinner because it was canceled. He wouldn't contact the driver to send him to my house and because I canceled the order I'm out of. So I bought this nice gentleman a nice dinner from the 99. I hope he enjoyed his $18 tip. I will die from hunger before I ever again order from DoorDash. Uber eats any of these the only reason why I did is because my car is in the shop. Terrible! Just terrible! This is the worst service my family and I have EVER had at the 99. They sat us quickly and then forgot about us. No waiter came over to say hello, take our drink orders or even tell us they are running a bit behind. We know these restaurants are struggling with staff, but at least acknowledge us! I have been here so many times, but today was the last! I brought my 3 granddaughters and ordered fever boneless wings with rice and asparagus. I order the chicken wings every single time and they have always been considered an appetizer. So whatever else I ordered was considered a side (the potatoes and asparagus). Just went to this spot and gave it another try unfortunately they failed again I will never go back when I sat at the bar I was ignored cause the bartender with pink hair was too busy chit chatting with others then I ordered baked haddock which normally has breadcrumbs on top there was no breadcrumbs fish looked under cooked no utensils and when I asked who brought my food order were is the breadcrumbs she like idk what do want me to do with an attitude I deal with customers service all its what I do for 35yrs and I'm so disappointed so she's goes to the kitchen let me see what I can do left me with food and no utensils I just got up and left fish looked undercooked I've worked in the food industries and my dad was a chef n mom a caterer so that says a lot never going back here I left feeling discriminated because of my race read more

This review is for the thursday nite Trivia at the 99 Haverhill. Food n server Pariss was excellent. My family n i attended Trivia this past thursday evening. We have been to trivia at different restaurants and trivia here the other evening was by far the worst trivia game EVER. We go to just get together, eat drink n challenge ourselves. We are not competitive.... The first problem was the trivia microphone. It was not loud enough and the trivia emcee seemed not to understand that. She had her mouth on top of the microphone which completely garbled everything she was trying to say. There was no explanation of rules, points etc for any newbees that might be there. She sat with friends in a booth, eating and drinking, instead of facing those playing. She started the game before giving out paper n pens n really seemed to find us all a nuisance. She would ask a question n then when one or two songs went by, would ask another. She mumbled every question and at times, i couldnt tell whether it was another question or if she was ordering nachos!!! You get the idea... it was not fun. We ve been here before and the person doing the trivia was professional n fun... here, if you asked a question, she was abrupt n rude... By the end, we really had no clue who won n what the scores were... 99, get a new emcee who isnt out to party! read more

My favorite meal at 99 is the king SIZE steak tips. They seem to always get it right - medium on the tips with hot fries. The servers are easy to connect with and fun. I've had their chicken and that's average - but their steak is cooked to preference every time. I haven't had any of the complaints that the low ratings have given. They have an amazing selection of desserts - they are loaded with peanut butter and chocolates specialties yummo. For a steak place - this is one of my faves. read more

I've been going to this location for many years. Which before the pandemic , you had to Wait for a seat at the bar because they were so busy. After the pandemic it has really gone downhill. No more luncheon menus, portions have been smaller but more importantly , it's filthy. The dining room smells like a very musty fieldstone cellar. The floors need to be pressure washed. Fortunately , the staff is always great. I feel bad for them to have to work in such an unclean atmosphere. read more

I had the buttered colossal lobster roll. It was a nice soft bread with about a one pound lobster (or less), of lobster meat. It would be illegal to sell such a small lobster Missouri or Kansas where mud bugs (crawfish) are that size for the sandwich. I was impressed with the service and cold beer. Nice place but please provide a better value. read more

My wife and I have been regular customers of 99's for over 30 years, visiting locations in mostly MA, but also CT, NH, and ME. It was consistently a good atmosphere, good drinks, good food, good service. The recent change in management has certainly changed our view of 99's. A visit to the Haverhill 99's was a total disappointment. First, no crackers & cheese and the popcorn was stale! Followed by limited menu, no baked potato, no drink coasters or cocktail napkins, and apparently the rewards program and Veteran discounts are no longer in effect. My husband and I like to sit at the bar. As always love the Mango Maitai the bartender is so cute and friendly I believe her name is Emily she was right on top of our meal orders and drinks. My husband had the salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. He mentioned he liked broccoli cooked well, and she made sure it was cooked a little longer than usual. Very disappointed with the fish portion received. It actually felt like the takeout box was empty. The picture of the meal on the menu shows approximately 12 medium to large shrimp. Received 8 tiny shrimp. The balance of the fish was a piece of haddock that was about 2" x 2 1/2". Just got what was in my opinion a subpar take out order. ...my finance who loves their traditional caesar salad got this new age hipster looking monstrosity that just screams 99 is overthinking it. When I place the order I was told they couldn't cut up the lettuce per corporate mandate... this is the hospitality industry customers wants come first!! Then my meal was botched when my tenders weren't tossed in honey bbq and I didnt get side ranch and my tips were slightly over cooked. Why am I giving 4 stars then?? Bf of Ryan the manager who took my venomous heat from the botched order and was a perfect professional. I love the 99. This is my first time going to this specific one and my first time being disappointed in the 99. I was given far less turkey tips than usual. The tips were extremely chewy, I had to spit some of the bigger pieces out. They were also not seasoned properly. We had fish tacos and one of the tacos had the smallest piece of fish in it. I may be wrong on this part, but the rice was plain white rice. Doesn't it usually come with some seasoning? I enjoy the 99 so much I'll probably give it another chance but looking forward to something I know I enjoy and then being this let down was really annoying. read more

This location as been on a slow but steady decline over the last year. What used to be a reliable restaurant with consistently good food has gone way down in quality. We gave this location one last try this past weekend, but sadly I'd confirmed it simply was not what it used to be. My daughters burger was charred and inedible, while my short ribs and rice were ice cold. I also did not receive the mashed potatoes that was on the order as one of my sides. We won't be back.
