Latest experience was not as good as last time. We did a large order for the family while I was In town. It was too hot to go with the turkey so I decided to try a salad with grilled chicken . The salad was large and the chicken had a nice grill flavor but was really dry My nephew got the salmon meal (adult) and when we got it home and he opened it - it looked like a kids meal portion. He has gotten it before and liked it and said this time it was nowhere near the size of salmon he got last time. Not sure if it's a one off mistake or if they have changed the portion size Felt bad for him he had to heat up a cup of Mac and cheese because he was still hungry. Stopped in with friends for lunch on a Saturday morning. We were sat in a booth by the host with menus and our waitress came by shortly after to take a drink order. It was not at all busy when we arrived. Our drinks arrived in good time and all our meals arrived at the same time. I ordered the baked haddock. The fish cracker topping on the fish was overcooked and the edges of the fish stuck to the side of the dish. The fish itself was mostly edible, excluding the edges. I ordered the up-priced side asparagus. They do not cut the woody ends off the spears. Mashed potatoes are minimally seasoned. The restaurant is clean. Our waitress kept our waters filled. Parking is in a private lot around the building. Restrooms are near the kitchen in the middle of the building and are clean and updated. read more

Dedicated 99 customer (Easton, before that Braintree & Canton) but yesterday's experience in Franklin was very disappointing. Three of 4 of our party ordered prime rib sandwiches which were not eatable. Waiter and manager apologized but will not be going back to Franklin any time soon. My wife substituted another sandwich that was not any better (turkey club). Manager could have comped all three sandwiches but only one was comped. I just ordered wings and potato skins through DoorDash my driver picked it up. It took 12 minutes for it to get here. Wings were hot and my potato skins were still frozen in the middle. Just because I ordered through DoorDash I don't feel like that's an excuse to provide uncooked food. We went to 99 in Franklin yesterday for a late lunch/early dinner. It was our son, 2 toddler grandkids and my husband and myself. The kids enjoyed their mac & cheese (although I noticed the cheese sauce was very soupy) and bonus ice cream sandwich for their dessert. However, my husband had the seafood combo and fish did not appear to be haddock. Maybe pollock? Scallops were tiny and so were the shrimp. Our son had chicken parm and chicken was overdone. I had the chicken and broccoli penne, which was pretty good. Waitress did a good job. None of would recommend the sirloin. All three of us have had it at one time of the other, and no matter what degree of doneness, it was like shoe leather! I wish they still offered the turkey dinner on Sunday. There was cheese on it the cook put cheese on then scrap the cheese off and attempt to cover it with the extra sauce I noticed cheese melted on the pasta.. so I sent it back talk about cross-contamination that I could get really sick from So you ask for something like no cheese or something. I'm not sure who took away the old 99 and replaced with Burger King. It used to be so consistent and good. Buffalo chicken not the same and burger and fries average. Too bad used to be our go to place. My suggestion is forget the lobster and focus on basic menu. Competition heated up in the area and this spot needs to step up. This review is just about the Franklin, MA location. I like 99. Dependable, consistent, nothing spectacular, but solid. Not this location. 3 out of the 4 meals we got were very disappointing. Lobster was extremely tough, vegetables were awful -- corn 100% tasteless, asparagus was thinner than a string bean, fish was fair at best, just an overall huge let down. The service person was very good, and apologetic (not her fault). But we've had problems here before. I'm done going here. Too bad. We like the 99s in other towns. So to be fair, this was a covid dinner. So I'll try to be nice. We went 9/24/20 We asked for an outdoor seat. They made outdoor seating available at tables in a section of the parking lot. Well enough. The table was in kind of icky shape and the chairs were okay but felt very cafeteria. The service was incredibly slow/non-existent. It was not busy so that was strange. I like this particular 99 because of the way it's set up versus Milford and North Attleboro mass locations. I also think the chef does a great job with how busy it gets there, getting your food out as quickly as possible without sacrificing the integrity of the dish. Additionally I think our server Kayvon was extremely good, very attentive to what we needed, as he had many tables he was handling. He also did me a favor with helping me pay for my parents- where they asked for a separate check and were basically fighting my husband and I on the fact no one was going to pay for them, but good ole Kayvon when I asked if he could just not listen to my dad and put both bills on my card didn't have a problem. Even when my dad was kidding with him saying he'll talk to his manager for doing that, Kayvon was like ok I'll just have to deal with that so politely. Lol He was so polite. This 99 is by far the cleanest and best food and service I've had in a long time! We arrived home after a long day of traveling . We were starving and tired. We were greeted immediately by the manager Phil and our server Ayanna was immediately at our table asking what she could get us for drinks. The food was incredible! We had the crispy flounder and the sweet potato crusted haddock. You can not beat the prices for large portions. I mean really , I got three large pieces of flounder for 17.99 ! Really really disappointing.. Entering we were told that we could not all sit together, even though our party of 8 was all from the same household, 5 being children, 3 being my own children! I ordered country fried chicken. The mashed potatoes were instant potatoes. The corn and country gravy tasted like it came right of the can. Husband got shrimp bowl and it was very cold and just ok. Worst 99 Restaurant I have been to. They should close this location in Franklin down. I have been to the Milford, the Marlboro & Hudson locations without a problem. The l have walked out of the Franklin locatoin twice without ordering. One time the hostesses screwed up the order for people waiting for tables. The female bartenders working on a Saturday afternoon. Were more intent on hustling tips from the old men at the bar, than taking our order. I went to the bar to order food and the bartenders told me to wait for a waitress. The waitress or any waitress failed to take our order, so it was time to find another place to eat. Came here on a Saturday with my Dad specifically for Lobster Roll. I have been here previously and thought it was an Ok experience. This time around was a major improvement. 1st, quickly seated. Went in on a Friday night for a quick date night and it was fabulous! Service was super attentive and the food and drinks hit the spot. I had the steak tips and my date had the turkey tips. Served me raw turkey tips! I cut one in half and ate it, before I realized it was raw. I thought to myself: hmm, this turkey tip is kinda chewy/fatty. I looked at the uneaten half and it was raw in the center. It wasn't just "undercooked", it was *raw. I showed our server. She apologized and took them away. The manager came out and apologized. Then the manager asked if I would like something else or if I would like them "to cook those up" for me. It sure sounded like she was offering to finish cooking my raw turkey and give it a second try. At any rate, I was quite turned off after eating some raw turkey flesh. I seriously hope I don't get salmonella. I wish I had thought to take a pic of the raw turkey before sending it back but took the receipt for some validation that I'm not making this up. They do not respect food allergies. I had ordered something with NO BACON and repeated that multiple times I was allergic. The potato skins came out with small pieces of bacon on it. The manager came out and asked if I wanted a new order. Well obviously, because I can't eat this. The mere fact that the kitchen doesn't follow instructions on the ticket stating "allergy" is deplorable. Clearly the staff is incompetent. read more

I'm a fan of this restaurant because you know what you are going to get, it is always consistent, and the portion sizes are appropriate and the best part is when the bill arrives - you can afford it! We generally will go and sit at the bar where Desiree and Michele are working and they are friendly, knowledgeable, and always attentive to the guests. OK, I have to admit also that I am a free popcorn hound; I will enjoy popcorn and couple of beers before we order and it tastes great. Truly disappointing. I don't set the bar high for chain restaurants but none of our food was prepared correctly. The baked scrod was dry and overcooked. The cooked carrots that came with the meal were basically raw. The scallops were similarly overcooked. The breading on both the scallops and the scrod was burnt. I had the prime rib, which was medium rare as ordered but showed up cool. Even the French fries were not cooked properly. I have not been here in a while since we usually go to the one in Milford. Went to lunch on a Tuesday a little before 12. Very few people there. No one at the front to seat so had to ask at the bar who said to just wait for the person. A few minutes later she did appear. It took us a few minutes to order so she said to just flag her down when ready. 5 minutes later when we were ready she was nowhere to be found. So another 5 minutes went by before she surfaced. By this time more people were coming in. We ordered a couple of burgers and a salad. The food did not arrive until 20 mintues later !!! There was a group that came 10 minutes after us that were given soup right away. So it must have been something with cooking the food to order. Anyway - the burgers were supposed to be med well. However they came out very WELL and very dry. Probably the worst burger I have ever had outside of my own! The fries that came with it were few and very tasteless. The plate was so unappetizinf looking - a dried out burger open faced with a few fries. So not going to the Franklin one again - Milford is a lot better. read more

Ninety Nine is lucky that certain corporate entities send their folks to Franklin to train for anywhere from one to four weeks at a time. The only redeeming part about this restaurant, and yes, it was pretty redeeming, was the $1.99 Budweiser Select. Now, that may be enough to bump it up to three stars by itself; you could put me in a shed in the woods with $2 Bud Selects and I'd be a content person; however this is a food establishment as well, and as such they have certain responsibilities. Those responsibilities include not serving ice cold buffalo wings. Those responsibilities include not dripping some cheap nacho cheese over some chips and passing them off as nachos (unless I'm at Fenway or a comparable alternative), and they certainly include NOT hard crusty edges on the haddock. I am being a little harsh, but fortunately for Ninety Nine they have a monopoly on the cheap restaurant market in the area. To be fair the quesadillas were OK and the Tips and Tenders were passable. If you're looking for an older crowd and cheap beer, or just don't care about the crowd or the food; Ninety Nine is not a bad place to be. That's why I went there four times in two weeks. read more

Being a West Coast guy, Ninety Nine is a bit of a novelty to me. When on business trips, I stay in Franklin and this place is right next to the hotel. 2 hours of airport check-in + 6 hours of flight time + 1 hour shuttle ride = 99 for this weary traveler. Set your expectations. It's not unlike a Chili's or Applebee's. You'll be fine. I went once when lobster was in season and got the lobster roll. I appreciated that they used melted butter instead of mayo as I have a mayonnaise phobia. Again, being from the other coast, getting two fistfulls of lobster meat on a roll for under $10 is nice. The other time I went was during winter time. I go the Louisiana sirloin, which was enjoyable. Never had a problem with the service. Plenty of TVs playing sports, which I am in favor of. Sadly, though, I can link a very disappointing sports moment to said TVs as I watched the Niners gag away the NFC title game there (KYLEWILLIAMSNOOOOO). After a failed attempt to order Cheeseburgers from Longhorn where they took the order and never placed it and was horrible service that made me walk out, I was still craving a good cheeseburger. I figured we would try the takeout from 99. What a world of difference. My wife called and placed the order and when I walked in I was immediately greeted by an employee who was really sweet and pleasant. They had the order written down perfectly. I paid and the waitress I paid came back almost immediately with my order. Everything was packed perfectly for takeout. The cheeseburgers were delicious and exactly what I was craving. The place is really nice, clean and above all else the workers are on the ball. Sorry Longhorn but I will Never be returning and from now on my go to is the 99 !!!! I haven't been to a 99 restaurant in years but I have to say this location was pretty good. It is right off 495 in Franklin and if you are traveling from the Cape or the outlets, its easy off and on to the highway. This place is pretty large and the staff here is fast on their feet with seating and service. What I like about the 99, it is what it is and you know you will get some okay food and cheap prices plus some good drinks. The menu is the typical chain food menu with sandwiches, burgers and entrees and salads. The good news here is the place is loud so if you have some kids, it is okay that they are loud as well. Food was decent, staff was friendly and really fast and the prices were excellent! Would return here for a quick regular meal with the kids! Place beats the nasty Incontro restaurant across the street which is supposed to be Fine dining, yeah right. read more

I was meeting a client for lunch. We were supposed to meet across the street but that restaurant didn't open until noon, so we tried 99. This was my first time eating at a 99 restaurant. The client likened it to an Applebees. I found the experience and food to be a bit better than that. I settled on the large portion of salmon with rice and broccoli. The food came out quickly and the salmon (for being a chain restaurant) was actually pretty good. The rice was so-so and the broccoli didn't have much flavor at all. I would try 99 again. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. Ordered a burger with no sauce, came with tons of it on it. Sent it back, came back on a new bottom bun with the sauce still on the burger. Manager was a b, claimed it was cheese, I called her bluff. She refused to comp the table as I hadn't even eaten and the 2 other people I was with were eating their meals with their fingers because we didn't even get silverware until they were almost done. We stayed at the Residence Inn nearby and after five hours of driving, this was the perfect restaurant for dinner. We ate there both evenings, the staff was very friendly, polite, and the food was very tasty. It reminded us a bit of Cracker Barrel minus the store and with much less noise. The prices are pretty reasonable, service is always good, and it's a nice, laidback vibe. I come here occasionally when I'm town when I'm not looking to do anything too fancy. Recommended. read more
