    Sushi to start! Sooo good

Ok... I thought EVERYONE knew about 98lbs and shockingly in all my billions of times here... I have never done a Yelp review! Ok, lots of mixed reviews but people really are complaining that the place isn't a 5 star or upscale establishment. If you want that, I can recommend places in North Loop. I love this place the way it is and you will learn to love it when you try! The food here and consistency speaks for itself. I've been coming here for over 10 years and if it was closer to me... we would be here multiple times a month. Where can you go and get all you can eat sushi (Better than majority of the ALL you can eat sushi places! Plus, you can grab 1 piece vs needing to commit to a full roll!) and also get some amazing staples in hot food. Last time I was there... they had a mix of seafood, chicken, pork and beef options and all were quality proteins. They also have added new items to their rotation like Plantains! So good. 98 Lbs is ALWAYS busy and that is a good thing! The food stays hot and everyone else loves it, but we forget to review them. Whoever else loves 98 Lbs... show some love! Also, the staff is so sweet and will help with what you need. Be nice and leave them with a cash tip.

Handicap accessible, easy parking, delicious menu hot and fresh buffet from soups, sushi, entrees of fresh stir fry, pepper shrimp, fried chicken, sautéed vegetables, fried rice, deserts and beverages included plus senior discounts. Booths, tables for large groups, trinkets for sale at check out like tennis shoe key rings and dolls. Friendly staff, casual dining. Warm inside . Been there many times and never disappointed! Just walk in.

I was really skeptical of this place and now I'm a fan. The sushi was high quality for buffet sushi. They also had clams and mussels!!!! Service was fast and refills were prompt. Parking is easy and free. Definitely going here again.

98 Pounds Buffet offers a good value for the price. While buffets can sometimes have lower quality food, 98 Pounds offers tasty dishes at an affordable price point. Keep in mind that dinner costs around $20-$25. Rating : 4.2 / 5.

Been there a few times. Usually food is good. The sushi isn't as impressive as you would hope. Place is normally busy, no reservation needed. Has a decent variety of things. They have good deserts. Servers are good at refilling drinks and taking empty plates on a timely manner. Restaurant is usually always warmer than it should to the point it can be a little uncomfortable. Bathrooms there aren't as good as you would hope. One of the toilet seats there wiggle and feel like you are going to fall off. Atmosphere is family friendly and casual. Overall though not a bad buffet but could be better.

If you are talking large Chinese buffets, this is one of the better ones around. It isn't the best I've had in the metro, but it is solid and predictable. I would say 3.5 stars if we could give half stars. Nice sushi selection and decent quality as far as buffets, nothing too wild, but solid. Buffet selections and solid and they keep everything fresh (except some super overdone crab legs last time I was there). Service is generally good, they take plates regularly and refill drinks as needed. The ambiance isn't anything special, not overly kitschy or anything, but not much to catch your eye. My Dad loved this place, so nostalgia is heavy here for me. It won't knock your socks off, but it is a solid buffet at a solid price. It fits the bill if you are looking for a buffet with a lot of choices at a reasonable price.

The lunch buffet is a little pricey but the selection is very good. Always good tasting. Hot & sour soup is the best.

The menu has a nice variety of dishes, including different types of noodles. One of my favorite dishes is the Minced Pork Sauce with Sliced Noodles. During our recent visit, our server was not very welcoming or helpful while we were trying to place our order. We showed a picture of a dish from the restaurant's own menu that we were interested in ordering, but were informed that the item was only included for display purposes and was not actually available. This was confusing and somewhat disappointing, especially since customers naturally expect the dishes featured on the menu to be offered. Unfortunately, this is the second time we have experienced a similar issue, and it has involved two different servers on separate visits. The food itself is enjoyable, which is why we continue to return, but we hope the restaurant can place greater emphasis on customer service and hospitality. A friendly and attentive interaction can make a significant difference and would better reflect the quality of the food being served.

I ordered the Stir Fry Spicy Beef, Mapo Tofu, and the Pork Belly. Everything was tasty and have no complaints as far as the actual flavors. I do think that the Mapo Tofu should always be soft tofu rather than firm, but that's just a personal preference. The beef was plentiful and extra tender and the pork belly was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth, so good that I felt like I had to ration it throughout the next few meals. I do wish it came with more rice. I ordered three sides and only got one box of rice. I was hoping to have at least two so I can eat it for several days. However, to end on a positive note, when I walked in to pick up my order, the woman (owner possibly) was incredibly friendly and spoke Mandarin to me. She was welcoming, funny, and we briefly argued how spicy food should really be for it to be enjoyable. "The spicier the better," me thinks. Come show these guys some love!

I was trying to use up all my…read morevacation days for 2024 and was short a day to cover my vacation from December 13th to the end of the month. So, I chose Monday to work remotely because, well, why not? For almost a year, I have been using a DoorDash pass for free. It means that I can get meals delivered for free if each order hits a minimum of $15. I decided to do delivery because it feels fancy to me when I'm in a hotel. I did a search on the DoorDash app and found Eddie Cheng Restaurant. It had menu items that appealed to me. What's funny to me was that it was across the street from the hotel. I could have easily placed my order and walked across the street to fetch it. I'm glad that I did delivery. My manager had an urgent task for me to complete on my final workday of 2024. Getting lunch delivered helped me get this task done quickly and efficiently. I ordered the following items: - Wonton soup - Shrimp with lobster sauce on roasted pork fried rice I didn't get any drinks because I had lots in my hotel room. When you go with delivery from this eatery, the restaurant decides if it's going to use its own delivery service or go with a DoorDasher. I had scheduled my food to arrive between 11:30 am and noon. The restaurant's own driver delivered my food. I had instructions to knock and leave the food at my door. This delivery person didn't read the instructions. He knocked on the door and expected me to open the door. I said politely to leave it at the door and I thanked him. He did. The wonton soup was amazing. The broth looked so clean. It was yummy. The wontons were huge and had a lot of filling. I'd order this soup again. It was excellent. The shrimp with lobster sauce on roasted pork fried rice wasn't what I had expected. I am so used to the version that New China does in Rochester with a lot of yummy lobster sauce that this one was different. It was basically a few large shrimp and veggies tossed in lobster sauce and pan-fried. They all were on top of fried rice. It was good. The shrimp and veggies were cooked well. The lobster sauce was salty. The fried rice seemed bland to me on its own, but was fine when I mixed the veggies and shrimp with it. My food came with crispy chow mein. It wasn't yummy. Pass! I got a fortune cookie, which I liked. We'll see if my fortune comes true... haha! It's good Chinese food. I'd get the wonton soup again, but would try something else off the menu. (8)
