This place is incredible! We ended up eating at this restaurant three times over the course of three days. The quality of the ingredients is top notch. We got the pork banh mi nachos, the steak banh mi salad, cheesesteak and both the beef and pork pho. My husband and I both cannot have gluten and this place accommodates that really well and we did not get sick afterwards. I only wish they had a sister restaurant in Denver! Getting off Main Street and into real Moab. This locals favorite is sure to make your day. I am a Moab local and I am very excited to have 98 Center as an addition to our restaurant scene! Food, drinks and a little night life entertainment, all things Moab could use more of. I have eaten the Steak Pho, Banh Mai, the pulled pork, and the braised fennel noodles. All of them were fabulous! I would in the future add pulled pork to the fennel noodles because it would be amazing. When eating the food at 98 center I could tell the amount of effort put into the food, house made beef broth for the pho and house made slow cooked pulled pork. 98 Center also has a great Drink menu, there a verity of drink specials which you won't find many places in Utah, and they have a verity of cocktails you may find in city cocktail bars. They also have beer and simple cocktails too. Something for everyone! They have daily specials like, open mike Monday, free wifi Wednesday's, thirsty Thursday's, and music throughout the week as well. From the actual meal, this should have been 2-star. But since the place just opened and this is Moab after all, and the joint does have elements for future success, I don't wish to sound like I'm trashing the place. The order: 2 Banh Mi sandwiches, one pork one beef, one cup of cold-Bree coffee, one cup of Vietnamese Coffee. Time: around 6pm, restaurant at a quarter capacity (a good sign!). While there are many variations of Banh Mi, and this is America, where we put our spins on ethnic food all the time, there comes a point where if you must call something a thing it has to resemble that thing to some degree. I had a difficult time thinking I'm eating a Banh Mi when it was served on an Italian roll instead of a toasted baguette, not to say that liver pate would be appropriate for the Pork Banh Mi, even if in this case the pork was braised pull pork and not the usual grilled or cold cuts variety. The presence of cilantro and thicker strings of daikon and carrots would also hugely add to the 'Banh-mi-ness' of the sandwich. And I hate to be complaining about service since the hostess/clerk was very friendly and polite, but something was terribly wrong when the coffees arrived AFTER we'd finished eating the sandwiches (granted, we were hungry, but it wasn't as if the sandwiches showed up very quickly neither), and many other tables had long gotten their food and drinks despite ordering after us. To add insult to injury, when the Vietnamese coffee seemed to have no hope of ever showing up (the cold brew had finally materialized by this point), upon which time it required my dinning companion to go up to the counter to inquire politely about it for the second time, the chef/cook treated her as if she was being a nuisance by being not in the least apologetic and waved her off with a 'yeah yeah, it's coming'! (Why it wasn't somebody else making the coffee--he seemed to be the only person in the kitchen--is a managerial misstep.) (And while I always find Vietnamese coffee overly sweet, this was way, way under sweetened, not to say that the time it took to come probably set a world record.) Being the only place in town focusing on Vietnamese food is certainly smart, and there can be some creative license in 'Asian fusion,' but please don't think people coming in here wouldn't have an idea about what good Vietnamese food is. And there must maintain a basic competency in hospitality and serving speed when the customers have paid good money and tips upfront, as the way the restaurant is set up. read more

I entered this restaurant around 7pm on a weekday. At that moment about 15 out of 40 seats inside are available. They have a short menu for food and I ordered pork belly and beef pho. BUT it turned out I have to wait for ONE WHOLE HOUR for an appetizer and an entry. Meanwhile, I saw four waiter/waitresses chatting around. The only explanation I got from them was it was busy hours and the kitchen is small. If the kitchen cannot even handle 60% of their maximum load in a timely manner. I really hope they can spend some time closed and figuring out the math. Maybe cuz this is a vacation spot that they might not expecting any customers coming back in the future. Also, the pho is just so so at most average level, nothing amazing or special. And in the end, I waited for 90 MINUTES FOR MY APPETIZER. 98 Center was the highlight of Moab! What can I say about the vegan pho that hasn't already been said?! It's truly wonderful, so much rich flavor, not salty and beautifully presented! I had a housemade limeade which was so flavorful! 98 Center has such a wonderful atmosphere, warm and funky, the kind of place you just don't want to leave when your meal is done! I wish my stomach was twice as big so I could have gotten one of their salads too which looked amazing!
