Overall 5/5: I love 9292 Shabu! One of the best ayce hot pot places in the area. The set up here is individual mini hot pots. So very nice if you want to go out with friends. Food 5/5: Great pricing for good food. Their spicy dashi broth is my go to. If you catch their lunch special the deal is great. All the meat selections are really good and their buffet is pretty plentiful compared to other hot pot places with similar style. Love all the fresh veggies they offer. This place is really good! Went in and got the unlimited option for $40 per person. . You get separate small pots filled with broth, the broths are okay, they're not the most flavorful. . The cuts of meat are spectacular, very good looking cuts. And they come quick, so when you order the meats, they'll be at your table a minute later. Great service! . The sides they have are awesome, tons of sides and it's a self serve side bar, so you can get as much or as little as you want. . I've heard of this spot couple years ago but never had the chance to visit due to Covid. I have been to 9292 BBQ Spot which I am a fan. Knowing it is owned by the same owner I knew i was in for a treat. I was told 9292 shabu was is really busy on the weekend therefore we made time and visited them on a weekday for lunch around 2pm. Let me say if you are into AYCE this is the spot for you. Unlimited veggies, meat, seafood, mushroom, sauce, noodle, and etc. There is soo many choices. Dinner/Weekend $14 you can dine in for AYCE minus the meat and seafood. $35 this is AYCE Meat & Seafood. I was told the AYCE was closed for a short period of time and they reopened on end of 2020. Rules for the AYCE: 1. Must have mask on in the buffet area. 2. Must have gloves on in the buffet area. 3. Use tongs with gloves to pick up food. Overall, Great staff, clean, great service and great location. Price? maybe a little pricey but if you come hungry it will be worth it. That is the only reason i gave it 4/5 stars. So bad. So not worth my 50 freaking dollars. I thought that because the price was so steep that I would at least get mediocre food. Not the case at all. Show up and you can find yourself eating ingredients boiled in plain water. No flavor. Staff is also not very helpful and their rules are so weird. Great service and delicious food. This place is a all you can eat Korean hot pot . You choose a broth you would like then you can choose from the all you can eat bar. This literally includes everything from sausage and corn to baby bokchoy and a variety of noodles. While your waiting , go to the hot bar which has all you can eat fried rice, tteokbokki, cream pasta ex... not included from the all you can eat option are add on that you can order to add meat or seafood to your hotpot. I personally ordered the mini octopus and premium beef which was delicious.You have a setting from 1-5 so you can set your induction heating hotpot as well so I would recommend heating it to 5 , go to the bar , then set it lower if it starts to boil too much. if you run out of broth , just ask for more and if you'd like to Change your entire hotpot soup base , they'll do it for a small extra charge. This was my first time going to an AYCE Shabu Shabu restaurant and I must say, it was a good experience! They take good COVID precautions, they take your temperature upon entering the restaurant and then seat you in booths away from other customers. The only thing that bothered me was when our server gave us dirty plates. She was wearing gloves that had sauce on them and it stained our plates. It was highly unprofessional and I'm not sure if she realized if it was dirty or not but she just walked away. Hopefully, servers can be more attentive next time. Thankfully, the food was amazing!! For the broth, I ordered the Spicy Vegetable but it didn't really have much taste. I think the flavors come mainly from the sauces so you can't go wrong with any broth. They have an unlimited self-serve buffet of traditional shabu items such as noodles, vegetables, fishcakes, mushrooms, etc. There's also a section in the buffet where you can get side dishes, such as marinara spaghetti, cream pasta, japchae, fried rice, etc. Moreover, there are 2 sauce stations, and you can customize your sauce however you like! If you want to order meat or seafood, that's an extra change and the servers bring it to your tables instead of getting it at the buffet. I got Brisket, but honestly, even without the meat, I think the buffet items were good enough! You get full pretty fast. I been looking for an alternative to 89 Hot Pot and a nice hot pot buffet. And this is the place. I hate having to bother the waiter every few minutes for more food. This place is actually very big and buffet style food area where you grab your own veggies, shrimp, balls, imitation crab meat, noodles, and some hot Korean sides as rice cake, fried rice, noodles, and spaghetti. This is the first place that I been to where you can get your own hot pot food and cook it yourself. The normal places, are brought out to you like 89 Hot Pot. I love the sauce bar as well. The enoki mushroom is awesome. I really love this place and your into vegetables, this is the place for you. They also have some kinda low grade sausage hot dogs. I love the small cut corn as I got so much. The lunch is like $9.99 and dinner is $12.99. If you want stuff like beef brisket, you have to pay $29.99 and $34.99 with shrimp. I do wish they included the meats and seafood for a tad bit lower. I didn't get this option as the buffet bar already had more than enough foods for me to cook and eat. I highly recommend this place if your a hot pot nut. The waiter service is decent but they normally are super busy and you have to speak up. I was told that this place has only opened for 1 month and they are still working out the kinks. This is also the first non-Taiwanese/Chinese hot pot restaurant that I been to as well. Unfortunately, I can never come back to 9292 Shabu again. I really wanted to like them and gave them another chance since people have raved about how good they are but no. Just no! Don't advertise all those broths if you're not going to have it. So apparently prices have gone up according to what I read on Yelp. AYCE is $30++ My friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon around 4 pm and they only had two broths available - veggie or seafood. I rather have spicy veggie and my friend only gets chicken or beef. I took veggie and my friend took seafood. It's yuck. The sauces aren't even good. No amount of sauce was able to make our broth taste good. I wish there were mung bean noodles on the "buffet" though. There was a lot of items to choose from on the "buffet" I did like there were hot, cooked food for you to eat like fried rice (I liked), japchae (too sweet), tteokbokki (my friend liked, I didn't try), spaghetti (my friend liked, I didn't try). I like the variety of veggies on the buffet. Good to see the different varieties of mushrooms too, only wish there were enoki mushrooms though. There were also hot dog and fish cakes too. I didn't eat any of that since I have plant based lifestyle. My friend ordered the pork so it's $3.99 extra on top of the $13.99 soup base. No more. I cannot. Service is decent. There is a button for you to push to get attention and service. I got a huge headache after eating too. When I got home, I had to sleep it off for several hours then take a hot shower. What more can you ask for, but all you can eat meat (which, of what we tried, we all high quality), noodles (ramen, udon, and hand cut noodles), more carbs (rice cake and dumplings), plenty of fresh veggies, and a variety of sauces you can use to make your own custom dipping sauce (or two). This is the first buffet I've been to since the world changes and I only realized it when they told us to put gloves on before putting food on our plates. Felt safe. They do have pasta on the side, which is probably mostly for kids, but I tried the spaghetti and the cream pasta and regretted wasting my belly space when there was so much better food (it wasn't that bad). We had the two types of beef, shrimp, clam, and lamb. Very tasty. The only thing was I had a 5 year old but I had to pay the full $17.99 for dinner for ages 4 through 10. Adults were $27.99 at the time of this writing. I don't think it's fair to lump in a 4 year old with a 10 year old. If I brought a 10 year old son with me, we'd do some damage. I haven't been to a buffet in a while and today I over splurged. 9292 Shabu is hidden on the right side of Kroger on Satellite Blvd. This place is gigantic, with bright lights, modern decor, and wide open space, it looked fancy for a shabu joint. Once you get seated, they ask you what broth you want and we went with the most popular, dashi, based off of korean anchovies. While the broth has a clean taste, not overly salty or bland to feel bloated afterwards, I did feel that the broth was 2% inadequate from being perfect, as the korean saying. Will probably try another broth, such as the veggie broth or the beef bone broth next time. Otherwise, everything was great. For $11.99(M-F lunch), you can access stations and stations of toppings of different shrooms, fish cakes, noodles, roots, and veggies; As well as some hot dishes including fried rice, ttukboki, japchae, and both marinara and alfredo pasta; And most importantly the sauce station. Side note, I didn't have enough patience to look at the instructions on making the perfect sauce at the station, so I winged it and it wasn't perfect. Sauce definitely makes a difference so may want to take your time. On top of the lunch special, we did order 2 plates of meat as a side, brisket and ribeye. Brisket was just whatever, but ribeye was super super good that I would recommend for those that are carnivores. Overall, with the dashi sauce, I felt like I was eating a deconstructed mille-feuille nabe and some of the sides that went well with the shabu broth here was the hotdog, corn, rice noodles, cabbage, fish cakes, and mandu. Coming here thru covid season- they will nicely check your temperature at the door once you enter. And when you sit down the waiter will let you know that you need to put on gloves before you grab your food. And to be sure to wear your mask while you are out of your seats. Like every Korean place, they have set out a jar of cold water for you already so you won't need to ask for refills on water as often. Aside from ordering your meat and broth, there isn't much contact with the server. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon and there seems to be quite a lot of people more than a typical place on Tuesday. I think this place has a great value deal with the 11 dollar lunch. All you have to do is pay extra for some prime beef and it goes to 15 dollars a person for ayce sides from japchae (which are real good), spaghetti, cream sauce noodles, ttoekbokki, etc. And ayce vegetables, raw noodles and additional items for your hotpot like crabsticks to fish ball. Their sauce station has plenty to offer too. I love everything about this place for its value. The only thing lacking for me is the flavor of the actual broth. I find that the broths are rather plain and doesn't have that deep flavor compared to other hotpot places I've tried. But if your willing to sacrifice the broth flavor for the amount of ingredients and the value for your buck, I would highly recommend this place. read more

This was my first time eating hot pot at a restaurant so I'm honestly not sure what to expect. I've had it a lot at home and never liked it, so I definitely didn't consider myself a hot pot fan, but it was different eating at a restaurant. We went during lunch so there was hardly anyone there and we didn't have to worry too much about getting too close to other people. They give each person their own individual hot pot where you can have your own flavored broth and control the heat the broth is at. I chose the dashi broth, although it didn't have much flavor at all until you start adding stuff to it. What I really liked was their huge variety of ingredients, from veggies to fish cakes to cooked Korean dishes. We did not do the all you can eat with meat included, so we just ordered meat on the side. The thinly sliced shabu meat is sooo good, especially when dipped into their house sauce. You can make your own sauce and their house ingredient is DELICIOUS, but also super spicy. I got tons of different fish cakes, napa cabbage, shitake mushrooms, frozen rice cake, frozen dumplings, and more. I also had a few plates of their tteokboki and japchae. The food was good and it definitely leaves you feeling stuffed. There is so much variety that you could never get tired of it. Great place for hot pot. read more

I have been to this 9292 Shabu several times before and I heard about recent ownership change of the restaurant. Not to mention about quality of beef they are serving and its hot food station where I can find my favorite Korean rice cake (ddukbokki), Korean pancakes (kimchee jeon) & cold noodles, I was able to find newly added Rice Wrap station to its menu. Using the wrap stand on your table, it is easy to make healthy rice wraps by adding ingredients of your choice at NO additional cost. I put sliced lettuce, sliced, bean sprout, pineapple and beef & shrimps from shabu. My first rice wrap came out perfect and I could not help saying "D...a...m...n" (in a good way). I was also told that the new owner will add some more shocking items to its menu in near future (next month or so). I can not wait to see what they are. read more

One reason I go often is that I like their ribeye. However, I experienced several times that only the first plate ribeye quality is good. When I ordered the second plate, the ribeye meat was very lean and no fat at all, of course tastes horrible. To me, that is no fatty beef instead of ribeye. read more

This is the ultimate hot pot/ Shabu place. The selections are very abundant, fresh and generous. You can either have just buffet or add protein for a la car. The place is spacious with many seats that are usually available even during weekend peek hours. The wait stuffs' services are very polite and swift. I like to bring my own Chinese hot pot BBQ sauce because that is how I grew up eating with. But otherwise, they have a selection of sauces as well. read more

This AYCE shabu hot pot place has always been on our list to try out. We stopped by recently on a cold day. Their prices went up by a lot, especially on the weekends. They only have lunch specials on weekdays (probably better cost wise). For AYCE (no meat) is $25.99 and AYCE (with meat) is $39.99. It is a hefty price and I would say only worth it if you can eat A LOT. We did love our experience there, and there was definitely a ton of vegetables. There were a variety of things we could get and the bone broth was great. They had an area with all types of balls (meat ball, fish ball, etc) and all sorts of mushrooms. I liked their sauce bar as well! They also have an area with all types of noodles (rice cake, udon, etc). We left very very full and happy. This was a nice experience. For $39.99, it was AYCE off the regular menu and then meat options. Meat options included ribeye, brisket, non-fatty beef, lamb, chicken, shrimp, squid, clams, mussels, baby octopus. On the regular AYCE menu, there was a healthy, fresh offering of lots of tasty items. For veggies, you can choose from Napa cabbage, bean sprouts, spinach, watercress, kale, lettuce, tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, a few different squashes, lotus root. There were more but I can't remember all of it. There were 2 different types of mushrooms offered along with Woodard ears. Fish cakes were plentiful and imitation crab. Please be aware the imitation crab is wrapped with plastic. Don't try to boil it. There were 3 different offerings of dumplings, a variety of noodles, and there were also noodles for cold noodle soup! The cold soup was available nearby for those noodles. My favorite part: banchan! There was a very wide variety of offerings: kimchi, spicy cucumbers, japchae, fried rice, kimchi fried rice, veggie pancakes, fruit salad, steamed egg, corn, tteok-bokki to name a few! All the items were fresh and plentiful. The sauce bar was a bit limited to what I was expecting but it did have garlic, spicy peppers, ponzu sauce, 9292 sauce (spicy-sour sauce), sambal, green onions, peanut sauce, sesame sauce. There were a few more sauce offerings but I couldn't even tell you what it is. There were the basic salt, pepper, sesame oil, soy sauce, etc. The most boring part of the meal: the broth. the 9292 broth was TASTELESS. There was no broth taste to it whatsoever. We didn't try any other broth because this was the one recommended by the server. The meats were fresh and the shrimp were a good size. Will definitely be back. read more

First off the place looks great. Very very clean and well managed overall. Which is a plus these days with the bar being set so high for places. I loved seeing staff constantly checking the self-serve bar and ensuring everything is on point and replenished. Our waitress was also very friendly and attentive. Now as for the food. I ordered the spicy dashi soup and unlimited meat. While the soup wasn't the most tasty it is mainly in my mind part of the cooking process. There are plenty of sauces to choose from. I am not Japanese so I'm unsure I am able to correctly describe shabu shabu. But I have heard from some people that the soup base isnt the same as you would expect from Taiwanese or Chinese hot pot where the broth is rich in taste from the get go. Shabu has a blander broth that just improved as the night goes on and you are cooking various vegetables and meats. While I may be completely wrong that was my understanding so I never expected a broth that would blow my mind from the get go. Overall this place was awesome. How am I just now discovering this restaurant?? I love the concept of having all sorts of items as AYCE. I mean, there was so much to choose from: assortment of noodles, Korean side dishes, hot dog, fish balls, sauce bar, variety of dumplings, tons of veggies, etc. I can't exactly remember the price. It doesn't come with any of the meats from the menu, but honestly I was pretty satisfied with whatever was on the buffet bar because there was such a variety. There's also an AYCE option that includes meat which is the option I opted for this time (I think $40 pp). We ordered 4 orders of meat and left insanely full. I would say if you don't eat that much meat then maybe get an order or two to share between two people. I think anything after 2 orders of meat for 2 people, then the AYCE option with meats is probably priced better. The soup base I tried was a spicy one. It wasn't bad. I definitely added heaps of garlic and sauces to it to make it tasty, but next time I'll go with the bone broth. I absolutely can't wait to return. read more

This was my fourth time coming here, and I was never disappointed until now. Usually, when I come here, I've always had a good experience: from the sauces, the AYCE options of different proteins, and the unlimited amount of veggies and extra goodies at the buffet. This time around, my friends and I were left highly disappointed. The atmosphere was like usual, with multiple TVs playing K-Pop and other shows like Inkigayo and Music Bank. The two shocking things were the MASSIVE price increase from $30.99 to $41.99 AYCE, and when my friends and I were getting our customized sauces, the building suffered from a power surge/outage. It was strange, but the hot pot machine still cooks our broth, so we thought nothing of it. Since the power outage caused some electrical appliances to be obsolete, we were told by the lovely hostess/server that they could not serve meat due to the slicer being inoperable. We understood and opted for the "Dinner Set" meal. Not less than a minute later, a different staff came by; this time, it was a man who seemed like he was the manager or the boss. He instructed that my friends and I must leave because the hot pot stove was using too much electricity and that whenever power outages happen, we must kick all customers out of the shop. From my friend who understood Korean, it seems like the tone of the guy's voice was neutral, meaning this seems like this has happened numerous times before. When we exited the restaurant, we saw the following next-door businesses still had their electricity working perfectly. As a business, you should be ready for scenarios like this to occur and be ready to deal with them accordingly. Because these things have happened before, I don't think I can trust a place that cannot manage its electricity, let alone reassure customers that things will be okay once things are up and running again. Because of what happened today, they had to close up shop instead of trying to fix the issue. I would come back again if business practices improve. read more

I really enjoyed this HotPot place! 2022 has been about exploring different HotPot places for me. I went a couple times in 2021, but just now trying the different styles. 9292 Shabu is a little less expensive than other places in the area, but only if you don't get any meat. However, they do have so many vegetarian options (plus some processed meats) in their buffet. They have 6 different broths to choose from and my favorite was the daishu. In the buffet, they have all sorts of varieties to add to your hotpot that you don't even need to order meats. I did order the brisket though and it was excellent! The service was almost a 5/5, but they were a little busy at the time too. The servers are super sweet though. I would definitely come back! read more
