He carried it on his back through the weeds and up the stairs before the guys I had over even realized that he'd started. And this was a BIG COUCH, all natural materials (heavy wood), with a row of three seats as one side and a chaise lounger as the other. He was extremely careful the entire time. When I told the guys they should be helping him, they met up with him at the top of the stairs and he was able to communicate effectively with them (all non-native English speakers he'd never met before) to tell them how to move the gigantic thing through the hallways without hitting any of the wall sconces. I was very impressed. Throughout our entire engagement, Dan was extremely courteous even though I couldn't quite commit to a certain time due to my sporadic communications with the seller of the couch. He was a very good person and happy to help us out. Evidently, the couch seller was impressed, too--she later told me she was considering hiring him herself for a future move.

Scheduling the move with Nicole was easy and their prices are fantastic. (If you think movers are expensive, consider the work and time they are saving you!! It is truly a bargain and these guys work their butts off.) However the day of the move due to some miscommunication on both sides (mine and theirs), things went a little sideways. Our move was important, I'm sure everyone's is, but ours was even more important than we would normally feel a move is, due to the fact our daughter is having surgery tomorrow morning and we really needed to be settled. It just wasn't possible to plan more ahead for the situation. When everything goes well and a company does a great job, that's always nice. But when things don't go perfectly and a company has to respond, the way they respond is very telling. Tetris dropped everything to make our move happen, sent us a crew of 3 (one more than originally booked) who all worked hard for long hours on a Sunday, and by the way they handled it all, it was obvious things typically go smoothly for them because they were so organized and able to pivot the way they did.
