This is a nice addition to the neighborhood. I stopped in for a few slices and sampled a Detroit eggplant slice, a Sicilian, a vodka grandma and a Margherita. The Detroit had a great cheese wall and was very crispy. I just wished it had more sauce. Sauce on the pizza seems to be an afterthought. I also sampled an order of meatballs Which were very tasty. The problem was, nothing was hot. It was barely lukewarm. The employees are very nice and the place is very clean. This place has potential to have a higher rating, but they need to iron out a few kinks which can be expected from a newly opened business.

Love the Detroit style pizza. One of the best around. Kids like the regular slices so everyone is happy at this place.

The pizza is excellent! I believe they are from the Bronx and that would explain the great pizza. Great having them close by.

I am shocked at these prices for pizza just by reading the menu! Even a large pizza should not cost $35-45.

Sofia's is a little pizzeria that's tucked into this quiet street corner among a few other eateries…read moreon Harrison Ave. We've ordered for takeout several times and even dined in on occasion. They remodeled a few years ago and the white tiled dining room is pretty spacious and comfortable now. When we recently ordered several large pies for the office, they delivered a 1/2 hr earlier than expected and the pies were still pretty hot. There were 3 large cheese pies, 1 pepperoni and 1 veggie, but the clear favorite was the chicken bacon ranch pie drizzled with ranch dressing because that disappeared quickly. C'mon, who can refuse bacon? Plus they do a slightly thicker crust than other pizzerias in the neighborhood, they generously pile on the cheese almost as thick as the crust and the number of pepperoni per slice was a lot. The wedge/hero sandwiches are alright, but nothing spectacular. I do want to try the pasta meals though, when we order-in during late night shifts at the office.

The lasagna was cooked in the delivery tray and the bottom layer was completely burnt. Sauce was awful and the dish tasted very oniony. Overall not good. The meatballs in the wedge were cold in the middle so obviously they had been frozen. The sandwich was incredibly dry, very little sauce which may have been a good thing since what sauce was on it wasn't very good. Massive disappointment

I made certain to specify that I needed utensils, as I was visiting the area and at a work site where I didn't have access to anything. When my food arrived, however, my requested utensils were nowhere to be found. (The UberEats driver also just left everything outside when I had specified that he call. I realize this part isn't the restaurant's fault, but the delivery app isn't doing them any favors. I did complain on UberEats, but they are useless.) So if we hadn't scrounged and found a spoon and knife--best we could do--I'd have had no way at all to eat my meal. The chicken parm itself was solid, as was the broccoli rabe. Sadly, the tiramisu was partly frozen. I'm assuming they'd taken it out earlier in the day and it hadn't entirely thawed. I had some of it, but once I clocked the freeze, I didn't want to waste my carbs. I'm sure this would have been a better experience if I'd eaten in, as at least I'd have been assured of utensils, and I could have sent back the dessert and perhaps gotten something else. I guess you win some and you lose some.

Tough to review just a quick stop by the slice. I heard Sal's outdoes everyone else in this part of…read moreWestchester, so I accompanied my pizza fiend - oops, friend - down to Mamaroneck to check them out. And this is a place worth checking out. Old-school vibe inside, not at all like the new-wave joints around. You can tell Sal's has been here for generations, which means they do it right. You walk in, there's a pizza counter to the left, a few tables to the right, some more in the back... and a hidden whole other room! So there will be room for you to enjoy your meal. This review is divided for now. My friend got cheese slices. They're big, thin, covered just right in cheese - win. Crust just the right toasty to hold the slice up. Classic NY pizza we got here - everyone in Fairfield County should visit. I peeked over at the other table and they had Sicilian slices that also look legit, if that's your thing. Plenty of cheese, soft crust, all that. Then there's my side. I had looked at the BBQ place next door and decided "nah, too contrived", so when I discovered the neat-looking slices on their platter were BBQ chicken, I went for them. Well, they actually didn't come out that hot. The thickness of the meat probably got in the way. Then there's the fact they were white slices (since BBQ sauce gets in the way of tomato sauce), but not hepped up with ricotta or other white cheese inside. I'd make those suggestions for improvement. There are also some other bizarre slices on offer - they're not afraid of variety! I'd steer clear of the salad pizza though. So based on just the one visit and everything I saw and tasted - 4 stars. I would want to get a whole pie next time for a fresh-baked experience, see how quickly that goes and if it's done just right. I doubt my review will drop, but it could rise up to 5. To be continued... ... So, I came back a second time with my friend. This time, I wasn't even feeling the pizza vibe, so I went with a meatball... wedge. Which is a sub if you're not from the area. Don't be scared by the name. It was tasty, but as I expected, just meatball, cheese, and some sauce. Actually a better balance of sauce to cheese than the pizzas, I thought. I was a little perturbed that our visiting friend's white slice is just pure ricotta, no white sauce below, no mozz on top. From my second experience, I'm keeping it at 4 stars.
