Leaving a 5-star review for a dinner that kind of went sideways. Things happen, especially when busy and packed. Everyone was very nice. The waiter got the manger immediately when we told him what was wrong. She was so sincere and took care of everything. We are regulars here but if we weren't I'd definitely come back just because the service was so good. Stuff happens in the kitchen - don't take it out on the staff. We came to PC to see a movie and Bartaco had too long a wait so we came here instead. Fail. One star for service. One star for location and atmosphere. Our server was very nice and did a great job of explaining the menu as we came in totally blind. The space was nice. We sat outside and it was very enjoyable. But that's where it ends. The pizza was bad. Zero, and I mean zero, flavor. The dough was bland. The sauce was bland. The cheese was bland. The only flavor was the bacon in my mushroom and bacon pizza. My daughter had bell peppers and sausage and said that was also flavorless. My husband is watching his diet and he orders the salad pizza with chicken. It is the saddest pizza I've seen in my life. Never been a fan of this place but wife was, until last night. Our pizzas were given to the wrong table, and after 2 full minutes of them being breathed on by strangers they were finally given to us. We told them we'd prefer new ones. Not a problem. Pizzas came out extremely well done, and after an hour of waiting we just decided to deal with it. Pizzas had the crunch of saltine crackers, cheese had transformed into another substance, and needless to say every bite was a dry mouthful of crumbs. Staff is attentive enough, but when you literally only have pizza on your menu, you'd expect them to master it. Thankfully I won't have to suffer through another CG experience. read more

I can't believe I forgot to review this place. We were here visiting hubby and he suggested this place for lunch. We ordered three pizzas, regular, bacon and sausage. We sat inside which had was pretty large. Outside overlooks the water. The waitress was very friendly and got our drinks right away. The pizza came out pretty quickly. The crust was nice and thin. There is hot oil and one pepper that sits right in the middle called the stinger. I'm not sure the oil adds much but the stinger is spicy. The pizza is crispy, nicely charred on the bottom. The bacon added a nice texture and salt to the pizza. The sausage was ok and my least favorite was the plain stinger pizza. Honestly, love sitting at the bar, and the outdoor area is nice, but sometimes a place feels 'too big', which is a weird thing to say. Do love a neighborhood joint that's simple, just serves Beer & Pizza. If you are getting food here, eat it at the bar, don't order takeout. We stop into various locations of Colony Grill a few times a year on the commute between NY and VT. The Port Chester location was excellent today. Food: Salad pizza with hot oil and an onion pie. I wish more places had the option to just throw a salad on top of pizza. There's an alchemy that happens when combining the hot, cheesy pizza and spicy hot oil with the cool crunch of salad. The onion pie was the best version of itself. Service: We sat at the bar so that we could watch football. Even though the Jets and the Giants were playing at the time, the bartender did us a solid and put the Patriots game on the screen near us. He was attentive, helpful and friendly. Who ever thought my Bronx Italian wife would think her favorite pizzeria with Connecticut roots would be a place with a shamrock on its logo...but it's true. Even when you live two blocks from the best pizzeria north of Arthur Avenue in the Bronx...Sal's...sometimes you want a break for traditional pizza, and Colony is the place to go. We had both the Signature Salad Pizza and the Summer White...with additional tomato and cheese...and they were tremendous. I just hope they offer Summer White after summer is over. If you're going to Target or Kohl's in the Port Chester Mall, head another mile up the Post Road and try Colony. You can always go back to Sal's next week! read more

Pizza first It is a very good pizza. Suuuuuper thin crust and tasty ingredients. Too much oil for my preference. I do understand that that's the style but my opinion is that although the oil is tasty, I'd rather have it with less. Take out The service for takeout was great. Everyone was welcoming and lovely. We wanted to visit Colony since it first opened, but the wait time was too much when we tried. We went on a weekend afternoon and got right in on the outdoor porch overlooking the river. Service was great and they had Pepsi which is a once a year weakness for me. Menu is pizza only, the only salad is a pizza salad. We had a salad with half salad and half mushroom/meatball which was very good. The meatballs seemed to be unseasoned though and could have used a little more seasoning. A favorite spot of my husband and I, especially after doing a Costco trip. Great space, ambiance, food and drinks at good prices, which is hard to find. Colony lives up to the hype. I moved to the area recently and have already been 5+ times. Their pizza is awesome and at $10/pie I think it's a great deal. I recommend getting one with hot oil and another with sausage and onion. I typically come on Sunday nights and haven't had a wait to be seated, which is really appreciated. This location is on the water and they have a nice outdoor seating area in the summer. They're kid friendly, too. read more

I thought this was the WORST pizza on God's Green Earth. I was not aware before coming here that this is a "CT Style" ie thin-crust pizza place. I ordered takeout so I can't speak to the dine-in experience. The pizza, however, was HORRIBLE. Paper-thin crust, almost no sauce, almost no cheese. Like if an anorexic person tried to make a pizza. Ate an entire 10" pie and still wasn't full because it's SO light and virtually flavorless. You can get a better, more filing slice of pizza for half the price at any other pizza place. Grocery store frozen pizza is better. I'm not usually this harsh in my reviews but this was an insult to pizza everywhere! read more

Stopped here to eat after shopping at Costco, we had no idea it was a pizza joint, we ordered the salad pizza it was delicious the best we've had we also ordered a sausage pizza it was good but if you're ordering a sausage pie I would expect more sausage. They had a nice Chardonnay and a great beer selection. The service was very good. The ambiance A bit loud, but comfortable. I think it would be very nice during the good spring and summer weather to sit on their outdoor patio to eat. Went here with my wife two nights ago because I wanted to try the hot oil pizza. The dining area is set in a mill style room, all brick with 18 foot ceilings. The windows overlook the marina, which is nice. The waiter was good, but I did have to catch his eye a couple times. I ordered the hot oil pizza which they are known for, and my wife ordered a salad pizza, which comes standard with no sauce, although sauce and cheese are available for an extra charge. The salad was generous, but she had to ask to be brought extra dressing, as there didn't seem to be any in the salad. The moisture of the salad started to affect the crispness of the crust after the first slice. A layer of sauce would probably have helped this. The hot oil pizza was tasty, with the heat expressing itself more on the back end of the bite. My real conundrum here is the crust. I traditionally love a thin crust pizza with some crunch to it. This crust was thin and crunchy, but too hard. I've had this at another pizza place in the area as well. In order to get a crispy/crunchy crust, they roll the crust out very thin, and then cook it so it's crunchy but also a little bit hard. In doing so, they lose the mouth feel of a traditional thin pizza crust. It's more like a thick hard cracker than a pizza crust. I've seen others rave over this type of crust at other pizza shops that are known for it, it's just not my thing. Also the food menu consists entirely of pizza, you should know that in advance. read more
