I would say the food is worth the drive, but who doesn't enjoy a nice Saturday morning drive on the freeway? In any case, we both ordered the chicken and waffles, one with country gravy and one with butter and syrup. AMAZING. The waffles literally had little crunchy pieces of sugar in them--so good. Unfortunately, the burger itself was overcooked and lacked flavor. The ciabatta roll was only partially toasted, and overall the dish fell a bit flat. The fries, however, were excellent hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious. I don't usually like coated fries, but these were a home run. My dining partner ordered the BLT and said the sandwich was great overall. We also shared the mozzarella sticks appetizer. They were a bit different from traditional mozzarella sticks, thicker cheese with a heavier breading. While they were good, I felt the order should have included six instead of four. Overall, even though we were one of only two tables in the restaurant, we had a great lunch, thanks largely to the excellent service.

Bellewood is buzzing this time of year: Tons of apples (and they ship to out-of-state family and friends!) New spirits coming out of their distillery Unique gifts, ornaments, and goodies for everyone (lots of local vendors stuff here!) A cozy spot to settle in with a coffee and escape the chaos of the season As for me? I come for the weekend meals breakfast and lunch are always amazing. We also grab our favorite cottage pie for easy dinners when we don't feel like cooking. And don't even get me started on their frozen meatballs... lifesavers on busy weeknights and absolutely delicious. One of my favorite times to visit is early in the season or during the off-season. It's peaceful, the coffee is hot (free refills) and the view of Mt. Baker (or even the clouds) is beautiful. And the service? Simply the BEST around. Truly.
