Made a stop here on an early afternoon before catching a flight. Completely empty, I sat myself. Medium lighting, classic dark walls, decor and dining seating. Greeted immediately, I received a welcome and menu. I knew I wanted breakfast. After reviewing, I noticed only 3 choices available. I started with the Classic Mimosa, tasty and fresh, heavy pulp, due to the fresh squeezed orange juice. A thicker consistency, I prefer a lighter more balanced blend but it was good. I ordered the Eggs Any Style as my meal. The dish was good but with limited breakfast options, there were no substitutions or additional items such as pancakes, waffles or French toast. It's always dicey eating at an airport, well today I was at Bellingham Airport and needed a beer and a burger. The only option was Scotty's, and being a fan of the store at the Barkley Village location in B'Ham I ordered an IPA and a burger. The beer was fine but a better burger would have been fine but alas the bun had seen better days and the 'double cooked French fries' skipped one maybe two of the frying cycles as they were limp and not too edible. The side order $0.50 charge for mayonnaise is a joke. It was all edible but not at all up to the level that I would have accepted. Located inside Bellingham airport near the gates (near Gate B-C) Appears to be a quick cafe if you stick to the right side, but they also have a restaurant looking component to the left with a bar. We came here as we were waiting for one of our flights and decided to sit at the bar. My buddy ordered a margarita and smokehouse burger and I decided to go with the smokehouse burger. His margarita was 1/3 margarita and 2/3 ice, which was extremely disappointing. Obviously, they're trying to conserve their product by giving people ice and charging them excessively, a sign of a crooked business. Moving on from that, the smokehouse burger (burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, chipotle aioli, and bbq sauce) was mediocre at best. Prices were high for what we paid for especially because the patty itself was overcooked and dry, and the bacon was way too salty. Good bacon is not drenched in so much salt that you need to cover it in tomatoes just to make the salty taste go away. The combination just did not work because it was not prepared well, and gave my friend stomach pain. I would avoid this place if you can; try eating before you get to the airport or just starve. You're better off starving and saving your money, having some nuts/chips/crisps/pretzels on the flight, and using the money you would have blown on this place to have something decent at whatever destination you're headed to. The service not the greatest either, with the employees too busy talking about their weekend than filling up water, bringing the bill, etc. We asked for more water and got an annoyed look and subtle grunt by one of the servers. Honestly really good food considering it's at an airport (super small one at that) and it's the only restaurant in here. Arrived at BLI and had to kill a couple hours before friends arrived (driving to Canada). Super friendly wait staff, and although the food is pricey, fairly tasty! The cauliflower appetizer was nice and crispy, seasoned well with a nice dipping sauce. We were recommended any of the chicken dishes, so we got the chicken salad and chicken sandwich. Salad was actually the favorite of everything! Only downside is the price, with an appetizer, two entrees, and two beers running close to $100 with tip. But if I'm ever flying through BLI again, will make a pit stop here! read more

Tried to grab a $10.75 egg sandwich from the grab n go bar. The airport was dead and nothing going on. The barista took my order and said it was going to be 10 minutes. 20 min later I had to interrupt the barista from her social media activity. Then she threw the frozen sandwich into the toaster and said nicely it will three more minutes. I feel like she intentionally delayed the order because I didn't tip. I'm *really* disappointed. The last several times we've traveled through BLI, we've stopped at Scotty Browns. They are a shadow of their former self. Servers and other staff are friendly, but obviously left adrift in regards to improvement in performance and personal improvement. Both of our last trips, we've had to cancel food because it took too long or equipment problems forced them into a position of trying to use their "express menu". Speaking of menus, the current menu makes me sad. Top heavy on burgers and light on sandwiches and salads. We'll probably bring own food in next time. Bellingham International Airport seems to have two choices for food. Fresh prepared, quick service is Scotty Browns, and premade at a little gift shop. I've eaten twice at Scotty Browns, both time it was pretty empty, service was quick & the food was good (not great), but as expected. Scotty Browns is the same as the Browns Socialhouse chain you'll find across Canada. They have a good offering of snacks and meals before your flight in a bar-like atmosphere. We received very friendly service here and our orders came out quickly, too. Prices are a little bit more than in Canada (but that's expected at an airport) so it didn't bother us much. For my meal, I wasn't too hungry but I did order some fried cauliflower (appy) and they were good! Nice and crispy and I thought they were a great alternative to french fries. We arrived excited to grab burgers and beers at Scotty Browns before our flight home and even planned to be early at BLI with the intention for a tasty dinner on Thursday, 4/18, 6pm. The restaurant was clearing out as we arrived and all empty tables had uncleared dirty dishes (cleary a busy afternoon which should be standard and easily anticipated in an airport business). The sign invited guests to seat themselves so we did, at a dirty table. The only server appeared efficient and busy with her tables but not rushed. She walked by our table multiple times with no acknowledgement. The one male bartender also appeared busy but not rushed, however, the server entered behind the bar to help him mix cocktails multiple times. After sitting unacknowledged for 20 minutes (at this point, there were 4-5 tables full and already served food and drinks), we decided we would miss our flight if we had to wait another 20 minutes for food. As we exited, annoyed and very hungry, the server paused to thank us for coming in. Really?! I advised her we actually had been sitting one table away from where she was standing and waited 20 minutes without even an acknowledgement. She appeared apologetic and slightly confused. As a former restaurant owner and operator, I'm a stickler for basic customer service and a firm believer in management's responsibily to hire, train, coach and lead their team. To add insult to injury, the only food option left was the Scotty Browns take-awat counter and the only items (now at an appropriate dinner time for most) available were BREAKFAST sandwiches. We ordered "Brekkies" and after 10 minutes of waiting (we were literally the last to board our flight!), we received extremely overcooked (paninis pressed to brown in color and so crispy they were barely edible) "Brekkies" for dinner at $25! Lesson learned the hard way, we will ensure not to frequent ANY Scotty Browns location again! read more

Scotty Browns Social House is located in Bellingham International Airport (BLI) - post security. It's a sit down bar and restaurant. I grabbed a high top table and ordered a breakfast sandwich - sausage, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. What I did not realize is this is a panini version of the breakfast sandwich. Meaning it's done in a Panini press. It was extremely greasy and quite frankly not very good. I ended up scraping out the sausage and egg and eating that and discarding the English muffin as it was so greasy as to be unpleasant to eat. The music was cranked up way to loud for 8:00 am in the morning. It was extremely loud in there. There were a lot of people sitting in there drinking beers and screwdrivers at that time of the morning. Service was about the only thing that was good in this place. Scotty's is the best (okay, the only, but still...the best) place to grab a cocktail before hopping onto your flight at BLI. They have tons of seating and the classy Scotty Brown's vibe that makes 'em a fun place to hang out on your own or with your traveling buddies. They make a delicious pre-flight bloody mary (make it a double for not much trouble) and an assortment of other cocktails that take the edge off your take-off. They also have a huge food menu. Though - surprisingly - the breakfast options are a little slim. I do wish they opened earlier. If you're on the 5am flight you'll sadly find them closed. read more

We have been flying out of BLI for many, many years, since the terminal was a little trailer with no amenities. So now that we have this lively pub to grab some food and and a drink, flying out of this airport is an absolute pleasure. The service today was attentive even though the place was rather busy. Lots of good beers on tap. The IPA was yummy and a great start to our weekend getaway. We didn't eat today but in the past have enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner options. After my boyfriend and I spent a wonderful week in Washington, it was finally time to depart. We arrived at the Bellingham airport just to discover our flight was delayed for over an hour. It ended up working out great because we discovered Scotty Browns. Although our waitress was not attentive at times, the food speaks for itself. We enjoyed the fried cauliflower bites, which were scrumptious. They definitely needed to add more sauce though. I had the Dragon Bowl which was full of veggies, coconut rice and a sweet and savory sauce over some chicken. They also had a tofu options for those who are vegetarian or simply enjoy tofu. Definitely a 5/5 star food experience, but had to give 4/5 stars for the service we received. Would definitely go back! read more

Fellow Yelpers beware - Scotty Brown's at Bellingham International Airport is a ripoff and exploits its customers because they think they have a captive audience. In fact, they do not. Although this is the only "sit down" restaurant inside Bellingham Airport, there IS an alternative - Halibut Henry's - a good, friendly, wholesome and much more reasonably priced snack/ sandwich place just 50 yards or so down the concourse. So unless you really want to sit and be served (and pay too high a price for too small a portion of food), you can do much better (thank you TSA guys both for keeping us safe and for letting me know there was a second place to go!). Before I discovered Halibut Henry's, I ordered a "bowl" of soup ($7) at the Scotty Brown's express counter. I was asked if I wanted any breadsticks. I replied that I would be fine with just the oyster crackers or saltines that came with the soup (Aren't those things standard when you order soup? They are in most places). I was told that crackers did not come with the soup but I could purchase breadsticks (50 c each). When my soup arrived, the container was very tiny - maybe 8 oz at most, but probably less. Assuming I was mistakenly given a cup of soup instead of the bowl I ordered, I went back to the counter to get the correct sized portion. I was told rather apologetically that this was indeed what they now call a "bowl" of soup, and that the cup portion was half that size (4 oz or perhaps less). The server told me that "corporate" recently decided cut the portions essentially in half but continue to charge the same price. In addition, the breadstick I ordered was no more than 3" long, and probably even smaller than that. The server suggested that I speak with the manager, who came over and explained that it was a "corporate" decision (not hers) to reduce the portion size and there was not really anything she could do. I told her she could take their tiny portion of unopened, uneaten food back and refund my purchase in full, which she did (but let's be clear - she did not offer that - I had to refuse the food, and ask for a refund using my angry face). I then walked about 50 yds to Halibut Henry's and discovered that they had more options than fresh but prepackaged sandwiches - they had hot, yummy genuine Ivar's Clam Chowder that was served in a "normal" non-ripoff bowl size and was a dollar cheaper than the fake tiny bowl at Scotty Brown's. So more than twice as much for less money, and clam chowder to die for - thank you Hailbut Henry's, and sayonara, Scotty Brown's. Keep clam! By the way, I have been told that Scotty Brown's is a US subsidiary of the Canadian chain of pubs called Brown's Social House. As someone who is dual American and Canadian and who lives in Vancouver, guess where I won't be going once I get back home?!! Corporate Scotty Brown's or Brown's Social House - be a good Canadian, eh? Apologize and go do the right thing. Your current formula will not get you very far in the long run. read more

Excellent food & service all the way around . We were waiting for our Vegas flight, hungry and had about an hour to kill. This was inside the Bellingham airport, after you get through security. It seemed packed, but we didn't have to wait, a smiling hostess took us to a booth in the back. A waitress who was very friendly came over and took our drink orders, shortly after we were seated. My belini was super yummy and came decorated with a fizzy gummy peach candy - what a nice fun touch ! I ordered a pizza, with some changes made to what was Listed on the menu. The waitress was cool about it and said it would be no problem. The other girls came over and brought a bottle of water to refill our glasses once they were empty, which was smart. Thy also were thoughtful to ask us how long we had before our flight. The pizza was SO good! It was chicken w/o the BBQ sauce. The crust was perfect ! I ate about half of it, and I took the rest to take on the plane to eat later. Ordered another drink and split it with my GF . Her meal and drink were also very good. We didn't have to wait long for the bill or the box for the pizza. The waitress got a nice well deserved tip. When we left, a number of the staff took the time to say goodbye and wish us a safe flight. I highly recommend getting to the airport early to eat here, or at least have a drink. I was so glad to find a Scotty Browns at the Bellingham Airport past security. With no security line and no real reason to be super early, it was nice to have a cool bar to sit at for our hour wait. We just had drinks which were good and served by friendly gal. Scotty Brown's is part of a company from Vancouver BC, they're bars and restaurants have a modern and urban feel. My husband and I grabbed some food here before our flight. He got the chicken tacos and there was so much cayenne on the chicken that you could wipe it off with a napkin and he couldn't even finish one it was so spicy. We almost missed our flight because the waitress took 30+ minutes from the time we asked for the check to when we got the bill. There were two other groups of people that were in the same restaurant on our flight and they almost missed their flight also. Luckily we had cash, if we didn't and we had to wait even 5 more minutes we would've missed our flight. On Sunday a group of my girlfriends and I decided to do lunch at Scotty Browns only to have an amazing experience! The menu is vass and can be a little overwhelming with all the options but out of 6 of us everybody found something they truly enjoyed! My chicken and shrimp pad Thai was just the right Spice level and was a very large bowl! My mom absolutely loved the cowboy salad! The fish tacos were done perfectly and are very filling! A couple years ago my husband proposed to me here and so I have very warm fuzzies about Scotty Browns. I don't particularly like eating at the airport, but I have to say this place provided a very pleasant experience. This is the only sit-down restaurant past security at the Bellingham airport. It has an "express" counter for sandwiches and drinks too, but there are a couple other places like that at this airport. This review is for the sit-down part only. They've got an assortment of appetizers and burgers, along with a few salads and sandwiches, plus two types of tacos and three types of pizza. There's a variety of beers on tap, along with bottled beer, wine, and cocktails. You'll pay on the order of $6 per pint and $8 per glass of wine, but it's certainly comparable to other places outside the airport. I had the spicy chicken burger, which I surprisingly learned was deep fried, and a glass of Mac and Jacks. I sat down to order an hour before my flight was scheduled to take off and the food came with plenty of time to eat, pay and board. One thing: the fries were fantastic, the perfect blend of crisp, oil, and salt. Overall a great place to eat if you don't have too much time before you take off. The breakfast sandwiches usually come out rather soggy. This has been mentioned on several reviews. Perhaps it would be better to order it "well-done." The Caesars are quite well made, so this helps get over the quality of the sandwich. Perhaps next time I will order the sandwich "bun-less" and with toast to avoid the issues. With the incompetence of Allegiant Air, I had to eat multiple meals at Scotty Browns since it's the only restaurant in BLI. As far as airport restaurants go, this is not bad at all. There's the to-go/quick hot items menu on one side, and the full sit-down/bar making up the rest. Decent service and the food isn't bad - appetizers, burgers, pizzas and fries are the bulk of the options. Some tacos, salads and a rice bowl option. Basically the menu is a mini version of Brown's Social House (for Vancouverites who need a frame of reference). They have their own wi-fi and password which is much better than the general one for the rest of the terminal. The only major con is that it's really loud. read more
