Step inside, grab a table, and a server keeps your mug filled with coffee. Use creamer on the table and you're set. The menu includes sweet and savory options for all three meals. For breakfast, we ordered the full pancakes with eggs and ham. The pancakes are HUGE! Two fluffy pancakes fill an entire plate. We couldn't finish it all and stayed full for most of the day. INCREDIBLE. We've been here before, in fact bought some of their mugs for at home. Last night we decided to get up early and go for a drive in the Mustang-- the drive from Edmonds is a little over an hour. I would say the food is worth the drive, but who doesn't enjoy a nice Saturday morning drive on the freeway? In any case, we both ordered the chicken and waffles, one with country gravy and one with butter and syrup. AMAZING. The waffles literally had little crunchy pieces of sugar in them--so good. Food was good but inconsistent. Biscuit and gravy could have had more flavor.Bacon was excellent. Definitely, plenty of food.. Terri was our server and she was efficient, friendly and accurate with our order,Ambiance was ok, very noisy but expected in small local coffee shops. I had steak and eggs with a biscuit and gravy on the side. Steak was perfect, hash browns could have been crispier and eggs were cooked right. All in all a good experience. Fantastic! We were in the mood for fish and chips somewhere around Bellingham and this place popped up on Yelp. We drove up The Guide about 4 miles north of where Walmart is and sailed right past it at first - I don't think there's a road sign you can see from the highway. Got turned around and found it just set back from the road by a parking lot. The decor is fun! Lots of typical diner style fixtures are inside. Diner-correct tables and chairs and counter stools complete the look. Claire, our server did a great job serving us. She was friendly and attentive and everything waitstaff should be in an idealic diner. Our fish and chips were really good: crisp crinkle style chips and really tasty fish hit the spot. Generous portions, so we brought some chips home with us because we wanted to save room to try some pie. Good call. The rhubarb pie was wonderful with very nice crust and a custardy, partly sweet, partly tart filling as it should be. "Our Diner" could indeed become our diner and we'll be back to try other menu items on our next visit. We feel we discovered a treasure today. Just be aware, this wonderful little joint is only open for breakfast through lunch and closes at 2pm every day. read more

It's a divey place that is pretty small, but it's fun and a classic location in Bellingham. They have a mimosa flight which I recommend, but I can save you the trouble and just recommend you order the blueberry lemonade one. I went for breakfast and it was pretty dead, but at 1130 the place exploded with people, so if you want an early meal, get there at open. I'm a sucker for Chicken & Waffles and there are very few places in town that do them, so I was pretty happy that they were still on the menu. My friend got a breakfast with eggs, chicken, hash, gravy, and a biscuit, and the name escapes me, but it's not for the small stomached or faint of heart. Okay, not the BEST brunch I've ever had, but definitely solid. Service was friendly and somewhat attentive - it's hit or miss with promptness in this town - but we weren't in a huge rush so it wasn't terrible and we had time to joke around. I wouldn't go if I had places to be, but for a moderately leisurely time with delicious drinks and solid food, Horseshoe cafe is a Bellingham institution that should be on everyone's bucket list. read more

Our Diner is a hidden gem. It is located off Meridian near used cars lots and gas stations, but is so worth stopping for. The diner is 50s theme and does a great job giving that 50s vibe through decor and music. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. And the food is served is plentiful delicious portions. Great family-run business. We gave it a shot based on Yelp and the menu. We just wanted a simple breakfast. We both had their chicken and waffles...really good. The batter on the chicken had a hint of dill in it which was great! The waffle was also really tasty and the eggs were done nicely. We.sat at the counter and had nice encounters with the staff. Stopped in for breakfast while visiting family in Bellingham. It wasn't too busy when we arrived so we were seated right away. It's a cute family run diner. You can tell it's a regular stop for locals. Good selection on the menu. I had an omelet which was great & the hash browns were perfect, not too crispy or too soft! My cousin ordered the chicken & waffles and loved it! He said the chicken was the best fried chicken he's ever had. The pancakes were also good. They are huge! If I could give a zero star review I would. I asked the waitress many times if they could make the chicken and waffles dairy free and she said "of course, I'll make sure of it". After the meal I said "I'm sorry ma'am I just have to make sure, but do the waffles really not have dairy in them?" And she said "oh yea they come prepackaged and we just heat them" she comes out moments later and said "how mad would you be if I said they did have dairy in them?" We were quickly greeted, seated, and received our coffee. If you need a recommendation, just ask. Food delivered in reasonable time. Our Diner offers a more "traditional" menu; not likely find the word "organic" anywhere. I appreciate that. Eating here feels like the Midwestern experience that I grew up with. My vegetable and cheese omelette was massive! I especially enjoyed the addition of tomato, which isn't typical for most places I've dined. Vegetarian options aren't abundant, but I'm not even mad about it. I'm certain that I'd enjoy any of the options that they do have. Atmosphere is relaxed. Outdated music, which matches the decor. Come hungry, leave hurting. Alternatively, get a take-away box and you will have leftovers for days. The portion sizes could feed a family of four, easily. The place looks like a tiny house from the outside. The only thing missing is the white picket fence. Once you've managed to get through the headache-inducing, stop-and-go traffic on the Guide Meridian and have picked up speed heading towards Lynden, you are likely to blink and miss the turn-off for this place. It's not easy to cross the four lanes of traffic to back track, so use your GPS and sloooow down. There is a lot of space in the dirt parking lot; unfortunately this isn't the case inside. It's intimate dining in this throw back to the 50s diner, and you're likely to be stuck waiting for a table on the weekends when the place is slammed. Think you'll get better service at the counter, think again. They may be chipper, but the two waitresses will most likely be busy fluttering around the establishment helping other tables. Meanwhile, the blood circulation in your legs will be cut-off on these high-top stools which were obviously designed for nordic folk with a 6 foot stature. Does the AARP meet here? I felt out of place being under 65 years of age. Or maybe the old couple hovering over me waiting for me to leave my table just made me feel exceptionally unwelcomed. Our Diner is my favorite place to grab breakfast! (They do great lunch food also!) The entire staff is friendly and makes sure you feel at home every time you walk in the door! The atmosphere is a fun nostalgic throwback with all the classic car decor as well as the overall style of the diner! The portions are amazing for the price you pay. I've never left hungry and I'm always beyond happy with the meal I am served! Highly recommend taking your friends and family here!! I had a seat the allowed me to watch the chef at work preparing the varied menu items. What a master. The servings are HUGE. Gave us great recommendations and was so personable for our table.
