Mexican Chopped Salad with chicken
Patricia Z.

Cute place! Located right on the strip. Came in on our first day in Sedona for a quick bite before our tour. Jocelyn our server was great with helping to speed everything along so we wouldnt be late. We just had salads but if I had more time I would have ordered the street corn and tacos. I have to also be careful with food allergies. Definitely recommend if in Sedona

Fajitas-delicious!

My family and I were in Sedona for a helicopter ride that my husband purchased. We stayed the night at this great little hotel and decided to go out for dinner. We stumbled upon this place and we are really glad that we did! The appetizers were phenomenal! I gave it four stars because my enchiladas were just OK. I've had better. However, the Elote corn appetizer, and the grilled shrimp were a huge hit with the family! My husband had the shrimp tacos and he loved them. My stepson had fajitas and he thoroughly enjoyed them as well. I tasted the fajita meat and it was delicious! My daughter-in-law had the Carne Asada enchiladas and she thoroughly enjoyed them as well. Our granddaughter had a quesadilla and she liked that too. The service was fantastic and the food was very good! Thanks for having us.

This place is a lot roomier than you would think. Patio seating in front or back. Nice ambiance. Service was good. We had fajitas and they were superb. Seriously, really tasty. Bit on the pricey side but what do you expect! It's Sedona. I'd recommend if you want something slightly upscale but still accessible to the little guy.

Enchiladas and vegetables fajita

We had reservations for dinner but were an hour early but still got seated. Great! I had the pork carnitas enchiladas with half green and half red sauce and it was delicious! Came with rice and beans. My vegan friend had the vegetable fajitas, great but too expensive for $27 without any protein. My pear cacti margarita was delicious!! Good service, nice ambiance. Of course parking is a nightmare in Sedona but we were able to score a free spot nearby

I came here as a group of 4 for a mid-day lunch. The inside had a wall of different jarritos soda which was I thought was cute. Our server was nice and continually checked on us. I enjoyed my carne asada tacos. It had an inner layer of fried cheese which I loved. I wasn't a big fan of the rice and beans that came with the tacos. I feel like they didn't really have any flavor. My friends' liked it and they loved the tacos they chose. All in all, it was a good experience and if I'm ever in the area again, i would come back.

Came here at the last minute to watch the sunset. We were seated right away and the patio was definitely a great spot to check out the mountains. We got a simple appetizer of elote and some margaritas. Everything hit the spot! Service was great and the waiter made some great suggestions.

I had high expectations for their food because they came highly recommended by a few locals , but sadly I was not impressed with my entree. I had the birria street tacos with rice and beans . The platter came out looking like the tacos had been microwaved. I was expecting hard shells but they were soft shells seemingly dripped in sauce...The birria was very salty and so was the dipping sauce . The cheese had begun to coagulate when it was cooling down . The beans were tasteless and portions of the rice were hard/uncooked. Maybe this was a one off? Stacey was my server and she was very sweet and attentive . When I left , the hostess seemed to be distracted on her phone and did not look up when I exited. I'm bummed because I was looking forward to a having a memorable meal for my last evening here in Sedona .

89Agave Cantina was a surprise hit during our visit to Sedona. They have a cute outdoor patio and plenty of seating inside. When we visited, a band was playing inside and it was a bit loud so we opted for the patio. My mom ordered the margarita flight and enjoyed most of the tastings. I think there was one that was watermelon mango that was so-so. My sister ordered the prickly pear margarita and loved it. For apps, we ordered the table side guacamole which was delicious. However, we requested no jalapeño but it was still in there. Not a huge deal though. For our entrees, we got the carne asada tacos, enchiladas and tamales. Go with the green sauce on your enchiladas--trust me. We all enjoyed our entrees. Our server was friendly but seemed to completely disappear at times, but still fast service. If you're in Sedona looking for good Mexican, I'd check this place out!

Shrimp elote and table side guacamole

We ate here a few years ago, so we definitely came back on this trip to Sedona. We stopped in for a quick snack before taking a Pink Jeep tour. Great views on the red rocks, food was amazing, only complaint was we waited a long time after we were done eating to get the check.

This spot was super yummy!!! We stopped in for a quick bite, and were amazed at the quality of the food. I have to be careful with food due to lots of allergies (wheat and nuts). We had the Elote and Guacamole with chips for an appetizer - chips were fresh, crunchy and a great size. The elote was very tasty with sweet corn great seasonings. Guacamole was also delicious with chunks of tomato and jalapeno. For the main course we had the street tacos. I was expecting standard street tacos, but was very surprised to find that these street tacos have melted cheese under the meat!! Wow, they were amazing. I would highly recommend this spot for gluten sensitivity, and for those looking for a great lunch spot. We were seated outside, but the temperature was just right, and we had a nice sun shade.

Burrito

We were really disappointed with the lunch we had at 89 agave. This place was recommended, and though the presentation of the food was high-end, the food was just mediocre. We had to pay for chips and salsa, I had a burrito with chicken and there was hardly any chicken in it. My wife did not care for the cheese enchiladas. Service was professional and attentive but $60 later, we felt like we chose poorly.

We went early for dinner so no problem getting a seat. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Vibe is casual. We got classic margaritas which were awesome . My husband ordered fajitas, which he really liked. I tasted his chicken and it had a weird almost all spice taste and not Mexican. I ordered cheese enchiladas with red sauce. The red sauce had a sweet flavor to it and also not traditional. I personally like a spicier chili flavor. Service was great with our waitress very friendly. I would come back again and just get margaritas with chips and salsa or some other small appetizer.

The food, service, and location were perfect for my family on vacation in Sedona. We went to this restaurant for lunch and luckily beat the lunch rush, getting a table outside. We ordered elote, guacamole, chicken tacos, chicken enchiladas, and pork carnitas tamales. Everything was delicious, but the elote was especially good with the perfect balance of flavors. I highly recommend the elote for the table and to stop in for lunch if you have a chance!

I was seated outside next to a delightful courtyard in shade with soft, warm breezes. I had the Prix Fixe menu, selecting Chilean Sea Bass as my entree. The meal actually begins with 3 slices of multigrain bread and 3 sectioned tray - olive tapanade, pesto and garlic-flavored olive oil. I really enjoyed the rich-tasting bread and the tapanade. The first course was the lobster bisque. This is not only a refined and tasty soup but there are many chunks of lobster meat (whoa). The bisque also has a slightly sweet and rich taste. The main course was Chilean Sea Bass. The well-grilled fish was placed on yummy garlic mashed potatoes. Also, gracing the plate were fresh green beans and a tasty choice of delectable dipping sauces for the fish. The final (dessert) course was Triple Cream Brie Cheesecake. This round cake was topped with a vanilla cream top - a rich and properly-sweetened end of the lunch. I highly recommend dining at Rene at Tlaquepaque.

We sat outside on the patio, absolutely beautiful weather and the tables are gently shaded by beautiful Brazilian Pepper trees. My only issue, I had bits of the tree in my hair, my water, my drink and my dinner. Our waiter Joshua was fantastic, a warm, gracious pro. PERFECT!! We started with the bone marrow appetizer. Maybe the best I've had at a restaurant. Came topped with a piping of mashed potatoes and bread crumbs. Perfectly cooked and served with toasted brioche bread, smoked sea salt and a bacon marmalade. It was delicious and huge. My only thoughts on making it perfect...Go ahead and salt your marrow in the kitchen and add another slice of toast. You are serving two big marrow bones, so don't be stingy with a piece of toast. All that said, this app was highlight of dinner. My daughter opted for another appetizer as her entree. She had the Spanish style garlic chili shrimp in butter. Looked huge and she said it was over the top fabulous. (I'm allergic to shellfish so I just took her word) She added some duck fat fries which were fine, but not great. I had the mushroom strudel and it was okay but frankly pretty underwhelming. Think it had been pre-made, filling was blah, flakey pastry was not, and highlight was a plucky little pepper sauce that was delicious but didn't really go with the main dish. It screamed for a nice cream sauce, and some butter in the filling. I love mushrooms as a main and this poor little pastry looked and tasted like a hot pocket. Now back to the positives. The dark chocolate soufflé with homemade crème anglaise is lovely and well worth it . My daughter also loved the prickly pear margaritas. All in all, really nice experience and meal. The kitchen obviously functions well and service is perfect. A few tweaks on the menu and this place is stellar. Even now, a Great special occasion restaurant and the location and lovely service made it special for us.

Cool evening temps nearly discouraged us from dining outdoors, but with plenty of heaters, fire pits, and (perhaps the nicest touch) being offered a warm blanket to stave off any chill, we were not only comfortable but also very glad we remained on the patio for our nearly 2 hour food extravaganza. Live music from a very talented guitarist/vocalist elevated the experience further. Service was highly attentive but not at all intrusive. Everyone's food tastes being different, I'll refrain from suggesting what you might order. I can say my meal of short ribs was good to the last bite, served with small potatoes and grilled carrots. I suspect that anything on the menu will meet your high standards. As an added bonus, as the sky darkened after sunset, a telescope and expert was on hand and inviting to anyone wanting a closer view of the beautiful Sedona sky. Top-notch venue, really classy vibe and atmosphere, and of course - great food and service make Salt Rock Kitchen in the Amara Resort a must do.

Throughout the meal, not a single drink at our table was refilled or asked to be refilled once. We spent most of the time with empty drinks, and basic table check-ins were lacking overall. I did jokingly ask the server "What do we get for leaving a review" and I can tell she was taken aback by the question but still came back with my order saying all she could was extra whip cream because she didn't have that kind of reputation. I feel as though this shows her lack of confidence and experience. I don't expect free things, but I do expect attentive service -- especially when asking customers to publicly praise the experience. Hopefully this is taken as constructive criticism because there's definitely room for improvement in attentiveness and customer care. On another note, the pasta was definitely really good.
