Coming to Tulsa for training. I found this yummy dumpling place. The service is simple order at the counter and sit with a number. Come early it gets crowded after 6:30pm. All the food was traditionally made with Chinese chefs. lol. read more

88 BaoBao - Dumpling time - Chinese Near Me - Tulsa, Oklahoma

The food was good, but the service really brought the experience down for us. Between the four of us, we ordered: -The Shanghai-style chicken chow mein was the table favorite, everyone agreed it was the best dish. -The crab & pork xiaolongbao was another favorite. I wish there was more of a crab flavor, but they were piping hot and delicious. -The shumai and tonkatsu ramen were just okay and pretty mid for all of us. -The wontons in chili oil were easily our least favorite. Unfortunately, the service lacked any kind of hospitality. We were handed four menus and told to "pick a seat and come back up to order." There was no one in line, so we weren't really sure why we couldn't just order first. When we tried to sit at a larger table since we knew we were ordering several dishes, the waitress told us we couldn't and pointed out that other tables could fit four people. We looked at the smaller table and knew it would be cramped, but we sat there anyway just to avoid any conflict. When I went back up to order, there was now a line. I was on the phone while looking at the menu when the same waitress came over, took the menus from me, and said, "You only need one." I understand the intent, but the way everything was handled just came across as rude and unwelcoming. So yeah, the food was good, but the service sucked and made the experience less enjoyable than it should have been. read more

Was surprised to see there is some good Asian food in Tulsa. But also, I believe this is a chain from LA so maybe that's not surprising. After you're seated, you order at the front counter and get a number. Then they bring you the food as it's ready. Our food came out really fast. We had xlb, shumai, lumpia, and a shrimp noodle dish. The food was all tasty, and I would get each dish again. I didn't order the food so can't comment on the service, but it seemed good from what I saw/heard. There are a lot of four top tables, but my sister had a birthday dinner here, and they can easily push tables together if you have a big group. Would come back here on a future trip to Tulsa. read more

Love this place. Love there make the dumplings fresh to order. The food comes out hot and fast. It is nice you order at counter and food is brought to you. The bathhouse have been cleaned. But the food is always good and I have not had anything I did not love here. It is small but a great little place. read more

I was so excited to finally try this after seeing it on some influencer instagrams! It's SO good. Tiny place inside. Order at the counter. But my wontons in chili oil were amazing. I want to go back and try every dumpling on the menu. read more

We went with their dumpling items and we enjoyed the dishes. Our favorite was the pan fried pork bun, but the wonton in chili oil was good as well. You order at the front counter, grab a table number, find a table and they will deliver the food to you. Water is self serve, dining area isn't too fancy, just your standard Asian restaurant dining layout. read more

This noodle and dumpling spot is incredible! The ordering system is a bit confusing--you can either grab a menu and seat yourself then order up front or order first at the counter and have the food brought out. That said, the staff is friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere. While we waited, we could watch the staff making dumplings fresh in front of us, which added to the charm. I had the beef ramen. The broth was rich and creamy, packed with deep beef marrow flavor. The beef slices were thin, tender, and had a great texture, though the toppings overall could've been more generous. The pork soup dumplings were a highlight--full of flavorful broth and perfectly wrapped. As a side note, we love their cucumber and lemon water, so refreshing. Definitely a place I'd come back to! read more

88 BaoBao Dumpling & Ramen was my most anticipated restaurant. I have been waiting for this restaurant to open forever. My patience has paid off, and I am thrilled Tulsa finally has a Chinese restaurant specializing in noodles and dumplings. The menu is simple. Try a dumpling and a noodle soup. Trust me, this is the place for these two items. For the dumplings, I would recommend XiaoLongBao aka "soup dumplings." These are steamed dumplings made with a thin dough wrapper, a seasoned broth, and juicy meat filling." The pork soup dumplings at 88 BaoBao were delicious. For the noodle soup, you have to try the beef ramen. Tonkotsu ramen, black garlic ramen, and chicken ramen were available on the menu but it was hard for me to get any of these soups thanks to Jinya Ramen Bar. I would consider the wonton ramen, but the go-to noodle soup for the first visit is the BEEF RAMEN. This was the best beef ramen in Tulsa. The beef slices were soft and tender. The noodles were perfect. I could have probably handled extra spicy. The only complaint was the broth which could have been more flavorful. This restaurant is going to be trendy. It's really unique, and I am surprised that Tulsa hasn't had one. 88 BaoBao is the first, and I hoping for more Chinese soups and dumplings restaurants in the future. I came back and tried the cucumber salad which was okay. Basically, chopped cucumber in a sweet garlic sauce for $6.95. Hmm...not sure about it. Also got the wonton ramen extra spicy. Spicy and extra spicy tasted the same to me. The wonton wrappers looked thick but they tasted great. The beef ramen was definitely the better ramen. read more

So much to love about this place! The food is super fresh and tasty. The veggie rice noodles are tasty and the pork buns are delicious. The staff is super friendly and love that you can see food being prepared. Quick service too. It's a small place but love seeing all the goodies on the tables and the tv with footage of dishes being prepared. Great overall experience. Check them out! read more

88 BaoBao - F2. Stir Fried Vegetable Rice Noodle - Chinese Near Me - Tulsa, Oklahoma

Came here after a long day at a convention nearby, we were hungry and looking for some authentic Chinese food and we found it here! For starters, we got the cucumber salad and BOY it is refreshing, crunchy, well seasoned and crushed like how it's supposed to be. We got the sautéed green beans (requested no msg) in garlic... so good, came out right away. We ordered F2 stir fry vege rice noodles (requested no msg) and that came out next. The rice noodles were perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned (just the way we like it!) Of course we ordered pork xiao long bao and this was the highlight of the meal. You need to wait as they need 15 min to steam. They came out last, piping hot soup inside and just delicious. I added a few drops of soy and vinegar to my spoon before loading up the dumpling into my spoon. Perfection. We definitely need to come back at least one more time to have the beef noodle soup. read more

As per the Doctor's recommendation, I ordered the Beef Ramen. It was very good, The beef; lean, tender, and pleasantly seasoned. A little more spiciness wouldn't have bothered me at all. My wife went with the Shanghai Style Chicken Chow Mein. It didn't have much flavor and was too oily for her liking. We kept a copy of the menu at the table to study the meal options. She had noticed Orange Chicken had been added to the menu in handwriting. She wished that she had ordered that. Order at the counter and pay at the counter. Grab your soda from the cooler before you sit down. Your food is delivered to your table. I like the open kitchen. You can view the cooks as they prepare the food. Any strange animals are probably executed out away from the public view. It appeared to be a well ran operation. A previous reviewer noted that on his visit, the restaurant had a malodorous fragrance. They must have addressed the problem. It was clean and odor free today. Eventually we will be back to try the restaurant's namesake specialty, the little steamed bags and buns, of meat and vegetables. The Beef Ramen...very good! read more

88 BaoBao - S14. Red Bean Bun (3) - Chinese Near Me - Tulsa, Oklahoma

I love dumplings and I am 99.9% sure this is the best place in town for dumplings, boa, and wontons in chili oil. I had the wontons in chili oil today and they are freshly made in the kitchen, steamed and doused in chili oil. The cilantro and green onion on top are a nice complement as well. The sauce is slightly spicy or if you are a chili head, not so spicy There is also a bit of sweetness to the pork filled wonton and they are overall delicious! I have ordered the Pork XiaoLongBao soup dumplings several times in the past and they are the #1 seller for a reason. Handmade and full of broth so be careful with you take a nibble from the side to slup the soup, they are served piping hot. They include a side of chili crisp oil, a sweeter dumpling sauce and a more savory dipping sauce. The location is on the Northeast corner of 71st and Memorial which can be kind of tricky to get to during heavy traffic times so just plan your approach accordingly. I am always on the go and usually order online for pickup and they have always had my order ready in 15minutes or less. They do have seating inside if you want to dine in. read more

Atmosphere and Service 88 Bao Bao is the epitome of a hole-in-the-wall--unpolished, functional, and oddly comforting. Boxes of drinks sit stacked in a corner, the air carries the scent of oil and steam, and the space, while not overtly clean, doesn't feel uncared for. Bamboo pendant lights and red chairs nod to familiar tropes, offering a touch of nostalgic warmth. Service is average, but the vibe is unmistakable: this isn't commercial polish--it's ugly delicious, in its most literal, lovable form. Pork Xiao Long Bao Piping hot and nestled in a bamboo steamer, each dumpling arrives like a sealed promise. One bite releases a burst of rich, porky broth that floods the palate--heavy, savory, and deeply satisfying. The wrapper strikes a perfect balance: not too thick, not too thin, with just enough bite to hold the delicate fold. Inside, the soft pork filling is tender and well-seasoned. It's the kind of bite that leaves you immediately wanting another. Shrimp & Pork Shao Mai This little purse of pork and shrimp opens with deep, savory notes of pork before gently giving way to the sweet, delicate essence of shrimp. The texture walks a perfect line between soft and firm--plush without being mushy, structured without being dense. Each bite carries a beautiful richness that lingers and coats the mouth, delivering both comfort and complexity. It's a quiet triumph of balance, both in flavor and form. Pork Potsticker A standout among Tulsa's potstickers, this is the juiciest, most mouth-filling dumpling in town. Diner beware: it will squirt--bursting with hot, savory broth that demands full attention. Miss a drop and you'll regret it. The pork filling leans into a classic potsticker flavor profile, but what sets it apart is the texture--plush, perfectly seared, and deeply satisfying. The devil is in the details, and here, the devil tastes oh so good. BBQ Pork Bun The bun features a sweet soy-glazed pork filling, reminiscent of the classic red-tinged BBQ pork from takeout spots--sticky, sweet, and familiar. But the bun is overwhelming. It's large, crumbly, and quickly falls apart, leaving more fluff than flavor. There's maybe one good bite of filling before you're left with a mouthful of bland bread. The ratio skews heavily toward the bun, burying what little BBQ goodness there is. Popcorn Chicken These little chunks of heaven boast a crispy exterior and soft, tender interior. Like the beef, they lean one-dimensional--but they're executed well. Addictive in their simplicity, they're the kind of thing you can't stop at one or two--you'll want the whole plate. They shine best as a vessel for sweet Thai chili sauce: safe, satisfying, and undeniably well done. Wonton in Hot Chili Oil Simply incredible--these sweet, umami-packed pockets deliver on both flavor and texture. The wonton wrapper is silky yet toothsome, concealing a savory pork filling that satisfies with every bite. The hot chili oil brings just the right amount of heat, while the pool of oil at the bottom of the bowl offers a rich, salty-sweet depth. Pro tip: drizzle that leftover oil over the popcorn chicken--it transforms a safe dish into something crave-worthy. Fried Shrimp The batter is incredible--light, crisp, and unmistakably East Coast in flavor, with that distinct savory-sweet profile you rarely find outside New York or Boston. While it looks like the typical tempura you'd see at a sushi joint, the taste is something else entirely. It hits a nostalgic, almost personal note. Can you taste the shrimp? Not really. But it doesn't matter. The fry is the star--and it's doing all the heavy lifting. Black and Gold Molten Lava Buns A simply beautiful bun--dark and glossy like hot river stones with a streak of gold. Each bite releases a molten core of sugary, eggy, grainy goodness. Whether the grainy texture is intentional or a byproduct of undissolved sugar is unclear, but it doesn't detract from the experience. read more

So we quit coming here. 100°C is just cheaper. For some items it's 1/2 the price. The dumpling sauce is a lot better at 88 baobao. And this location is closer to our house. But we are willing to drive further for a cheaper price. read more

The garlic green beans as an appetizer are a must, they are amazing. The pork Bao Buns were alright, could've used more meat inside of them. The pork and crab soup dumplings were amazing. The shrimp rice noodles were pretty good, nothing to run home about, but I added garlic sauce to them and it made them much more enjoyable. The minced beef noodle bowl was delicious. But the chocolate dessert buns were just a melted hersey kiss, not worth it. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. read more

We had a great meal @ 88 Bao Bao last night! Very friendly and accommodating staff and service was quick. You can get any ramen at any degree of hot or non at all. An order of pork steamed buns and pork/crab dumplings were also very delicious. Can't hate on the food, but holy hell the stench that hit my family and I when we went 6/8/25 pretty much ruined everything. Didn't seem like a food smell, more like a sewer/cleanser smell. Stayed and ate but never went completely nose blind to whatever horrible smell it was when we walked in at opening. I'll try again by myself to see if this a one off, I won't subject my 3 yr old granddaughter to that stench again. Too bad because food seemed pretty good. read more
