Ale Battered Fish & Chips
Karlee B.

Enjoyed dinner while visiting and we had a wonderful time. It was a nice ambiance and the service was great. I enjoyed the fish and chips was was a good portion and tasted great. My friend got the truffle flatbread and it was good but could have been slightly more elevated for the ingredients in it. Like a fresh mozzarella and parm. We also enjoyed the happy hour wine which were good. Overall good spot. While the menu is slightly overwhelming, it's nice that there's so many options.

The place was much bigger inside than it looked from the outside. My meal was different than what I was expecting. The fried calamari had fried banana ring peppers which was different. The steak and cheese was okay. I am glad that I asked for the cream sauce on the side because it would have been too heavy. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating.

West Coast Chicken Sandwich

Doylestown you are fastly becoming one of my favorite places to eat out. 86 West was no exception. It all started with the Buffalo chicken flatbread - dare I say I've haven't had better anywhere else? Seasoned perfectly textured flatbread, topped with arugula, cheeses, juicy chicken, and the most tasty buffalo sauce. The burger well cooked perfectly seasoned and still juicy. The chicken sandwich I can't rave as much about as it was basically a a bland chicken sandwich, but the rest of the food was so good I can't quite complain. After all it's a chicken sandwich. The place seems to specialize in mostly sushi, so that alone makes me even more impressed with the "American fare". Attentive servers and a warm inviting atmosphere. A must try when in DTown.

The service is fantastic. The bartender was knowledgeable & courteous. The sushi chef, Alyssa, was cordial, and knew her craft. The vibe is a bit confusing; there is an identity crisis here, in my honest opinion. Is it a sports bar? Is it fine dining? Why so many TVs? I ordered oysters & Sushi - both are/were excellent. I would recommend coming here. Everything seems to be pretty good. No real complaints. My humblest regards, k.david

Godzilla roll

Very good food, the only issue is that the tables are very small. I see they needed the space because it was packed for a Sunday. The inside was very nice as well. Our waitress was very attentive & friendly. We ordered the filet sliders, mac and cheese bites, godzilla roll, lobster roll (I can't think of the name, but it was my favorite), kids mac n cheese, kids chicken fingers. Overall everything was good. The kids enjoyed as did we.

Everything was fresh and delicious. The best part though was when the owner came over to ask how everything was and we got to chatting about family. I'm already looking forward to my next dining experience there.

It was all exciting about trying some very interesting dishes on the pre-fix meal, but unfortunately, it was not the stellar experience that I was hoping for. For starters, our server and "Director of First Impressions", Amber, was cold, aloof, and disconnected. She was just running through her role in a very detached manner. We made no connection with our server and the server is 50% of the experience. She was rushing. No one was there yet to take her time, and we felt that we had no connection with our server whatsoever. She didn't show any passion for the dishes other than sharing what she felt were her favorites. In a restaurant, speak in creative terms about the food, have and show passion for the food you represent. The four of us discussed the menu, and we all aligned and were going to taste around the table. Between the four of us, one tried the Thai pork dish, one the shrimp dish, and two the eggplant Parm dish. In summary, we all felt that they were underwhelming, and they missed their mark on expectation and wow factor. For example, the Thai pork dish that I had was supposed to have a Thai flair to it. If there was any, it was on the lower end of the flavor profile. It was a tiny dollop of some sort of red Thai chilli sauce, but it wasn't enough of a flavor profile to make me say yes, that's Thai-inspired, and frankly, it was lukewarm, yes the meat was tender. My wife and a friend had the eggplant Parm dish and also felt uninspired by their dishes. One was overcooked compared to the other; the two asked for additional sauce to give it some more flavor. Yes, it was a nice evening out, and you get a lot for your money with a multi-course dining experience. One other oddity. During the dessert course, which was a type of bread pudding, we were not offered coffee nor tea. Even it would have been extra, who doesn't offer a hot beverage with dessert, especially in the artic temps we are experiencing this winter. I had nearly an hour drive home, and coffee would have been most appreciated. Oh well. So in summary, I would have expected this to be a five-star review all day long. Unfortunately, it's not even close,e and this is coming from 2 couples opinion.

The kitchen was open for us to see and aromas were pleasant . The food was outstanding and we particularly enjoyed the pappardelle and Osso Buco my wife has some leftovers. The wines were perfectly paired and we really enjoyed them all. The Nizzi Barbera was notable. Service was great and Gail was excellent providing history and explanations of all the wines. The second pairing had a bit of an issue with a corked bottle but all was made right. The chef came out as each course was served to explain the dishes and their preparation. The food clearly leans fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and we started with cocktails from the bar. I had a perfectly poured Manhattan, while my wife enjoyed a glass of French Rose. For dinner, I had the Trout Murat, which was outstanding. My wife ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese, and she commented that it was really good as well. The menu blends Italian and French influences--perhaps with a nod to southeastern France. The portions were perfect and we had "room" for desert. Glad we did because the Panna Cotte was outstanding. I was excited when I saw they were open at 10am (but would've waited around if they didn't open until 11am). When I went in I ordered my cheesesteak: Cooper Sharp, with fried onions. As I finished saying that I was told "sorry, let me check something. We're serving breakfast until 11 and usually don't have any steak cut." I said no problem, I'll come back at 11am. They told me "don't worry about it, we'll make it for you". That was pretty impressive because I learned as I waited for my food just how busy these guys were with a ton of takeout orders. I didn't eat in the restaurant but it's definitely an option, plenty of tables in a well lit and clean dining room. I grabbed mine to go and made it to my destination in a ten minutes...the food was still piping hot. Now, I was also able to grab some wings since I heard those were good too. I opted for the Spicy Garlic sauce, which in all honesty is probably just their garlic sauce with some buffalo mixed in. No worries, it had a good flavor and there was no shortage of sauce. My only issue with the wings is the size. I'm sure I am in the minority here but I actually prefer small wings, these things are massive. But at $1 each I'm sure most people appreciate this. Now onto the steak. They use sirloin at Coach's and I honestly am fine with either Sirloin or Ribeye as long as it's not full of gristle and cut right. They also use Liscio's rolls which are some of the best around. The onions were cut the perfect size, some places it looks like Ray Charles does morning prep, not here! Every onion cut uniform and not too large plus they're were cooked perfectly. The cheese was evenly mixed through the meat that was seasoned well. Maybe a little too much pepper but at this point I'm splitting atoms. The cheesesteak was phenomenal, so good that you should absolutely make the trip to visit. There aren't many GOOD cheesesteak spots in this part of Bucks county and calling most of the GOOD is a stretch. Coach's is a GREAT cheesesteak spot and worth every penny!

The balsamic they used was also top rate. They split the order in 2 and served on separate plates which wa since so we wife and I did not argue about who got more. For the main cause, I had Poppy's Chicken which is always good. I like food a little spicy and this meets that bill. The sausage on top of the chicken is actually a little hot (spicy). Sometimes dishes like this do not have as much topping as I like. in this case it was perfect. Finally for dessert, we had the Barry callout chocolate cake. People in the US do not realize how good of chocolate Callout makes but you can taste it in the cake. The final good word is that this is a BYOB establishment, and we like that too because wine is always so overpriced. The bottom line is that we will continue coming here for special occasions. The food and atmosphere is great.
