I've always enjoyed coming here over the years because food is always great & service is always friendly. The outside patio is a cute spot when the weather is nice to sit outside & people watch. Although I was a little disappointed this time because the service was extremely slow on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. The waitress forgot about us to take our order and then forgot to bring our food. The hostess and manager both came over to check on us and were very kind with trying to speed things along. The waitress was very apologetic bc it was the first time we had nice spring weather so it was very busy for a weekday. The food is definitely worth it and the wine selection is also very good. Really enjoyed the food but what really stood out to me were the Brussels sprouts, would totally order them again. However, the service was terrible. We were seated at 7:30 and I had to go up to the front desk once it was 8:30 because we haven't even gotten waters yet, nor even put in appetizers. We did get our drinks but I thought it was odd to not even put in apps or just get some water after an hour of being seated. After that, the waitress had a horribly poor attitude and was not attentive whatsoever. We both had sushi and she only gave one of us chopsticks? As well as when we came back around to the table from the bathroom for 2 min, our leftovers were gone. Great place overall, but it always feels like they're trying to rush people out toward the end of the night so the bartenders can close up. It kind of takes away from the atmosphere when you feel like you're being hurried out instead of being able to relax and finish your drink. It was only 10 on a Friday night, which felt way too early to be pushing people out. 10:45 last call when says open until 12. Saying "don't be that guy we had a long night" then kicking people out. Doylestown you are fastly becoming one of my favorite places to eat out. 86 West was no exception. It all started with the Buffalo chicken flatbread - dare I say I've haven't had better anywhere else? Seasoned perfectly textured flatbread, topped with arugula, cheeses, juicy chicken, and the most tasty buffalo sauce. The burger well cooked perfectly seasoned and still juicy. The chicken sandwich I can't rave as much about as it was basically a a bland chicken sandwich, but the rest of the food was so good I can't quite complain. After all it's a chicken sandwich. The place seems to specialize in mostly sushi, so that alone makes me even more impressed with the "American fare". Attentive servers and a warm inviting atmosphere. For an empty restaurant with an unattended hostess station an older woman claiming to be the hostess confronted us for sitting at a table and told us we had to move as the table was reserved. I've never been disappointed except at lunch on Tuesdays. They offer a taco special but will not allow you to mix and match! You MUST order 3 of the same taco's. Sushi restaurant in Downtown Doylestown. The place has a nice outdoor setting venue as well as indoor seating. The happy hour specials are pretty good: 2 for $28 dollar sushi is a great deal. I like the speciality drinks as well. The Caramel Apple and Cinnamon Toast Crunch were very tasty and are on the happy hour menu. The spicy salmon was pretty good as a roll. The service was quick and the server was very nice. If you are into the nightlife, this place becomes pretty popping at nighttime for the locals (I haven't done that in years....but back in my youth....I highly recommended this place). read more

Tasted like a water downed mix with chunks of peppers thrown in - for $12.50. Appetizer of lobster and crab dip was excellent but not nearly enough pita to spread the dip. Of course the server offered additional pita (at a cost which I assumed but she did not mention). She also upsold a member of our party on fries instead of the house salad. Main course was fine. Sat at the bar and after perusing their mediocre beer selection, tired cocktail list settled on a NZ Sauvignon Blanc. I ended up ordering seared Ahi, potstickers and a so called Sushi platter. The seared Ahi was crying out for sauce and flavor. The potstickers were well browned but the filling was flavorless and the so called Ponzu sauce was dreadful. The sushi platter had four pieces of sushi, and a California roll. The biggest issue was value or lack there of. 24 dollars for a California roll with four pieces of sushi that were supermarket quality? The wine was 11 dollars for a small pour. The potstickers could have been from a freezer. Total bill was over 90 dollars. Service epitomized the word indifferent. Took forever to order anything let alone for it to come back from the kitchen. The bartender spent more time on their cellphone than talking to customers. Doylestown deserves better. read more

Cheesesteak wrap was delicious and would highly recommend that! We shared many appetizers and they were all perfect... So glad we wound up here because everything was delicious!! A very eclectic mixed menu, we decided to get a bunch of appetizer plates to share. They have weekly specials so we tried the Monday dish which was a filet mug on and mozzarella plate - it was good, not sure I would order again. Steak cooked perfectly but it had some random cream sauce on top. The mozzarella was fried and the two didn't go well together but eaten separately they weren't bad just wasn't my thing. The fried zucchini sticks were perfectly crunchy and the wasabi aioli was the perfect amount of spice. Boneless wings were good and the sauce wasn't too overpowering. Lastly was the lettuce wraps they were delicious and it was a lot of food!!!! We even took home leftovers and had no room for dessert. The waiter was a sweetheart and the atmosphere is great. The fish had a weird taste like chlorinated water and neither the sushi, nor fish and chips, was finished. The Kobe burger was a pretty average burger as well. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at 86 West last night. Went to dinner with an old friend I hadn't seen in years. We told the server right off the bat that we weren't in a hurry and not only did she not rush us at all, but she was perfectly attentive to drinks and apps and timing. We stayed so long that the place actually closed and we were waiting for them to ask us to leave, but they never did. It was so nice not to be rushed at all. For the record it was a Tuesday night and they were busy but not full. I wish I remembered the server's name because she really was exceptional! I should probably mention now that we didn't order from their extensive Sushi menu. You'll have to read the other reviews if you want to know more about that, but from the quality and flavor of food we did order, I can't imagine the Sushi to be anything but excellent. I ordered the Cobb Salad and added grilled chicken on top. I love Cobb salads and this one ranked right up there with the best of them. The salad came with what I believe was house-made ranch dressing. The consistency and taste were just too perfect to be out of a bottle. My friend had the steak salad and loved it. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked. If you're looking for a great meal experience in the Doylestown area, I whole-heartedly recommend 86 West! read more

We were a party of 4 woman who had a reservation on Sunday February 18, 2024. We ordered an appetizer, which was a bowl of Brussel Sprouts and we also lettuce wraps. The Brussel Sprouts came out before the lettuce wraps. We never received appetizer plates and the 4 of us had to eat directly out of the bowl so the brussel sprouts wouldn't be cold. Totally unacceptable and disgraceful on your restaurant for not bringing plates with the appetizer. When the lettuce wraps came out we had to ask for appetizer plates. Why should customers have to ask when it is common sense? After we were done dinner we were sitting and chatting and catching up. That is when the hostess with long straight hair NOT a manager a hostess came over to our table and asked as us to leave as a party was waiting. That should have been a managers job not some young girl. However there were multiple tables empty. After the hostess left our table she went into the kitchen and when she came out of the kitchen she looked my way and gave me a dirty look. I guess the waitress wanted to go home. However she had other tables with people sitting there longer than us. If they needed the table a manager should have come to the table not a young girl with an attitude.
