The pastries are fantastic here! So airy and fluffy! The prices are reasonable, considering how good the sweet breads are. I actually found an Apple pie sweet bread my husband loved! Score! Everything is self serve except for the full cakes they offer behind the glass case. Beautiful cakes. They also offer coffee and boba. FYI: The bakery is CLOSED on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This place is busy and there are plenty of seating spots available. Service is offered at the counter. Was glad I was able to pay cash. The kid was also able to count back the correct change. Nowadays that's impressive! Most kids can't count back change. 85°C Bakery Cafe specializes in fresh bread baked every hour, over 60 different varieties of breads inspired by European, Asian and Danish trades. Handcrafted beverages made to order, every coffee order is made with freshly grounded espresso beans. Teas are brewed fresh. Beautiful Cakes are offered in the glass cabinet up front. July 2024

    Taro Lavender Latte

I stopped by for some breakfast on a Saturday. They were already super busy with customers inside and some waiting for pick up. There's tables inside and outside on the patio. Got some pastries and ordered drink in less than 10 mins. The drink took about 10 mins until I get it. I ordered the Taro Lavender Latte and it was really really amazing. If you are into sweeter drinks, definitely try this one!!! For pastries, I got the Garlic Cheese, Milk Pudding, Milk Tea Bun, and Choco Cream Cheese. My favorite is definitely the Milk Pudding bun and the Milk Tea bun. The filling was plenty and the bread was soft!

Back again for the coconut snow cubes, they are as delicious and creamy as always! Also got the fresh strawberry milk tea to help cool down in this heat, and this is always super sweet and refreshing! Will keep coming back :)

I always get the iced sea salt caramel coffee and it is consistent every single time. I crave this coffee because it is soo good! The staff try to work as fast as they can but there is some wait time. This place is usually crowded. Not many seats but well lit location.

I am in pastry heaven! Very clean and organized place, lots of choices and amazing drinks. I love that there's an app for points. The staff is very friendly and helpful if this is your first time in the store. Service is fast and the price is great.

It is a busy place to go any time but specially on weekends. Good variety of breads, teas and coffees. Clean and organized place.

I love 85's sweet and savory filled buns. Favorite includes their "Milk Pudding" & "Cheese Dogs". Hit or miss it's been with their tarts, so I'm not chancing it of the over-baked for now. This is my go-to 85 Bakery location recently. Glad that it's open on Mondays in conjunction with my Asian grocery shopping. A great lunch or afternoon snack their goodies make. CHEERS!

I loved this place and I was sad to see this bug in my pastry this morning :/ I know this isn't a normal occurrence, but I live far from this place and to see this just made me sad.

    Sea Salt Oolang Tea

After some chicken, had to stop by and get some coffee!!! This place is really well know for boba!! Since it is the fall season I did get a pumpkin spice latte to celebrate! Afterwards I did get some oolang tea!! Best place to get a desert drink after full from eating!

Vietnamese Coffee was good. It's strong enough to put hair on your chest. It was good and the pastries were fresh.

    Ask the Community - 85°C Bakery Cafe-Plano

Is the frosting so sweet it gives you a headache, or are they nicely and professionally made?

The desserts there are actually the right amount of sugar. I was surprised myself trying a variety of them.

Will there be moon cakes for the new year?

Hi Mayra, yes we have mooncakes currently available from now until 1/29!

    Is this franchise pro-secession?

And that salsa verde on top? So good. Both the chilaquiles and the blueberry Earl Grey scone were my favorites. The scone was especially nice and moist with a unique flavor combo. I also liked the churro cruffin, and the birria brisket croque madame was delish and satisfying. Two of us ordered the Sweet Potato Latte and one got the Turkish latte, all half sweet (we generally prefer less sweetness than most), and all three of us really liked ours. Service was also great -- even though it was packed, our server was attentive and friendly. Great spot if you want something a little different for brunch or a bakery stop. Definitely worth checking out.

The waiting area was really nice and spacious. We got to try the Love Potion Latte (limited time), the Croissant Monkey Bread ($4.75), and the Birria Brisket Croque Madame ($19). The Love Potion Latte was okay, it's made of chocolate mocha, espresso, milk, and dried strawberry chunks. The Croissant Monkey Bread was delicious. The dough pulled apart so well and the cinnamon sugar on top added a nice touch to it. They toasted your bread too so it was warm and moist. The Birria Brisket Croque Madame was the best! It is a huge portion and we cut it in halves already, but it filled us up! The sourdough was still crispy, well-toasted, and it absorbed the juices from the birria so well. We went for a light breakfast but came out so full and stuffed. The prices are a bit expensive but it was reasonable for the quality and portion size. They are sooo packed though with customers coming in and out at all time. I would definitely make reservations next time!

Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.

The typical bakeries in this area (Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen etc) are often chains, and focus on soft breads such as donuts and cakes, with the token boring croissant, and the Asian bakeries (also chains) offer a completely different style of breads, so to finally come across a place with innovative crisp laminated pastries is a treat! Note - they do not sell breads. I visited on a Friday morning around 8am and although there were only two people ahead of me in line, they were already out of almond croissants and I took the last sausage roll on display (but the bakers were probably baking more). There was a continuous flow of people in and out. The location is definitely set up to be a to-go place and NOT somewhere you come to sit and eat. No ambiance.
