I love 85 degree bakery but the edmonds location isn't as good as the lynnwood branch. I have their app and half the drink menu is missing, especially promotions. And when they do have it, they sometimes don't accept the company promotion with the app. We talked to the manager Kiana, I think was her name, and she just shrugged, said there's nothing that they can do...hm, we drove 20 minutes to get here just to be dismissed when the coupon code couldn't scan properly. Business must be good enough during covid-19 to not care about your customers. It was an app / tech issue. The sales associate recognized the error and have seen the coupon before. Wow! Worth the drive a few more miles from the Lynnwood location! The space between the pastry cabinets are much more open with lots of table seating. There is still a wide selection of breads, cakes, rolls, buns, etc and drinks to order for everyone's liking. Fresh pastries also come out every so often (you'll know when they yell out "fresh bread!") to really give that feeling like you're in a working bakery. My recs: taro bun, espresso bun, berry multigrain, red bean bun, brioche (super fluffy goodness), coconut twist Service was super fast when I came on Friday early evening and not busy at all. I actually stopped coming to 85 Lynnwood because it was honestly just so cramped and kind of frustrating to snake around people to get the pastries, but I think I'll be coming back again to Edmonds from here on out. read more

Another horrible Corp Owned Asian Bakery. With a bunch people who do not care-taking your order. I was shopping at Ranch 99-and in this same shopping center was 85°C. I decided to go in. I have been to the ones in LA when I lived there and they had pretty great service. For Asian bakeries I generally do not go to places like this-I generally go to a true Asian bakery owned by a local person/family that has been doing this for years... (I am still on the search for this in Seattle). I was in this location in particular. I was looking at a mushroom cheese concoction- I had literally has the door open for the case I stepped back (like less than 6 inches) for 3 seconds as something else caught my eye in another case and this little woman who worked there swooped in and took it to the back-I was stunned. I had opened the door-and literally gone- Then the 1 pastry I did get I waited in line for like 15 minutes because the incompetent employees takes 20 minutes with each person-because the employee is so slow and can't get it together. When I said something to the person at checkout-He's like yeah sorry that happens...kind of giggles and asks me for the money for my purchase. He must of sensed I was still annoyed-and he said "not to say you shouldn't be annoyed but when things go "expired" we do move fast to get ride of the stuff"...I said I had the door open to the case and the employee just swooped in...then he said, "yeah that maybe shouldn't have happened". 85 Degree Bakery is the new addition of baked goods Chinatown needed. Everything from 85c is bomb.com. I don't know what else to say anymore. Especially love the chocolate sponge roll: moist, refreshing and not too sweet. The scream filling inside is not overwhelming either. It goes so well with any type of drinks. Highly recommend their SEA SALT MOUNTAIN GREEN TEA: it is a bit like milk tea but not overwhelmingly sweet that it makes you feel guilty of drinking boba, lower in calories compared to other bubble tea, and has a hint of saltiness because of the sea salt foam on top. Their EGG TARTS are also so delicious. I tried out the BOBA MILK TEA LAVA CAKE last time I was at 85-don't think it's worth the price really. It basically tastes like the choco sponge toll with sea salt foam from the mountain green tea with some tapioca on top. Besides, the way it is served in a tiny plastic plate, it's extremely hard to enjoy it without getting your hands or the table dirty. But overall, love this place. Well, crap. I had a great experience and now I'm going to crave this place. I managed to get in early in the AM and I was the only one in the shop, so of course my experience was quick and easy. The pastries I had were FANTASTIC, and I really enjoyed my 85°C iced coffee. There were so many choices; I can't wait to come back with friends to sample all the tasty goodness! Went to 85 degrees at 5:30pm. They sold out of all the better baked desserts. The employee told me that they stop baking at 4pm and open til 10pm. Meaning for the last 6 hours of the day, the same bread there has been there the whole time. I would not advise to not go there after 5pm unless the items are marked down in price like other bakeries. Two of the cases were empty which meant they had no other items in the back to fill it with and if you wanted to eat a warm item, they didn't have the capacity to heat it for you. This seems counterintuitive because people would probably go there after dinner or like we did today try to buy dessert for after dinner. Unfortunately, they only had savory stuff or whole bread stuff like brioche. The sausage looked out and the sriracha sauce looked like it was crusty meaning that it was sitting there a while. I live about a 3 min drive away from this place. I love going to the 85 degrees in Lynnwood specifically for their kale and spinach pastry and their cheese and potato pastry. I also like their mushroom and cheese bread. I was really excited when this 85 degrees opened up but ever since it has opened they have only once out of the ten times I've been there ever had the kale pastry. They never have the other savory veggie pastries. Most of the time they have barely anything in stock. And when they do, they only have sweet options or chicken/ham options, no savory veggie options at all. It's so disappointing:( read more

I tried 85 bakery years ago in LA. I was very excited when I heard that Seattle was FINALLY going to have its own 85 bakery!! But... my excitement ended very quickly​​ when I realized that the bakeries in Seattle could not compare to the experience I had in LA! They are so slow, bread doesn't taste fresh and there's never enough in stock! This particularly bakery that just opened up in Edmonds opened their store way too quick "at least in my opinion"!! This bakery lacks EVERYTHING because they do not have the staff to support the number of customers that come in... or they just don't have the proper training. I stopped by this store four different times and three of the crates that hold all the delicious pastries was completely EMPTY!!! Every time I am craving 85 bakery, I actually stop myself from going because I don't want to waste my time going to a bakery that doesn't have any pastries and waiting 10 minutes for a darn drink.​ I get that Seattle eliminates plastic use and that there is a charge for a paper bag.. but jeez at a bakery store..it's​ like going to a donut store and you are required to bring a bag for those.. Eggs tarts here are not great if you had the ones from Macau or Asia but good enough for us to keep coming back to since I haven't found any super authentic egg tarts in Seattle. Other baked goods are pretty decent and good variety available but I wouldn't drive all the way for it. It's more like if I do pass by, I'll get something. I have always enjoyed 85 degree bakery. However, this location is the worst one I have ever been to. Staff are rude, the store hours are confusing and are never open when they say they would be. As of right now during covid, the store is extremely unsanitary. I have seen things all over the floor and they do not clean the trays you use to get the bread. They put used dirty ones right back to the front. I have tried multiple times to contact them and have never received a response. Another issue I have had, is that they never have any supplies/ingredients to make their drinks or they refuse to make drinks. I would much rather make the trip over to the Lynnwood location, even if this one is only 2 minutes away from my house. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. You'll never know what filling you'll get inside your pastry. My berry pastry turned out to be something else I don't know what, and this wasn't the first time. Seems like they stuff their pastries with whatever and put a label on it and sell it for a large price thinking you're paying for what you wanted. The straws for their boba drinks are horrible and paper doesn't usually cut through the plastic top. I have to keep getting a new straw, just so my paper straw can soak and get soggy in my drink. I saw in the app it says $2 Americano - 0 pts which to me it means "a cup of $2 Americano (smaller size maybe?) and free as 0pts". But I misunderstood it. It means I had to pay $2 for that. It is fine if they explained to me as first time user. The thing I hate is their customer service skills!!! The cashier is around 40s Asian lady and insisted me I must make the purchase. After I know I misunderstood the app, I told her if I can upgrade to Latte or sea salt coffee or anything as I don't want to pay for that Americano. She said NO!! You have to make the purchase. I told her I have not picked up my coffee and it is only taking orders...she insisted No No No. @@ what the heck! After arguing, I feel like not worth for my time to spend there to bargain a $2 cup of coffee which is ridiculous! I told her okay to pay for it so I can leave! The manager is around there and the lady passed to her. I explained to her I misunderstood the app and now I don't want to make a redeem or anything as I have not got the coffee. The worst 85c every. First of all due to covid19 they posted only allow 10 people in the store. However, they stop customer enter at 8 people. But at the store in that time only have 8 customers and 4 workers. So then ask me to wait outside. Then after I enter and asked one of the cashier for why stopping people to enter when there are only 8 customers in the store, then the cashier told me they only allow 10 people max in the store, which includes the workers themselves. But that's the point it dont make sense coz according to what the cashier told me about 10 people bull shit thing. At that time there are 12 people in the store.
