Dining alone at dinner in Paris kinda sucks but it is what it is sometimes. Since Mink has been hotel bodied most nights, after a lot of steps in the day, she hasn't had any urge to go out to eat with me for dinner. This means I need to find other places to dine at versus what I originally planned. It also makes me a little lazy to commute too far to eat. One of the nights I was randomly thinking a burger would be good to have by myself and I found 85 Burger. They had great reviews and were close to a Metro stop which was perfect.
When I got there, a lady greeted me immediately. I thought she was a customer but I think she was the owner. Very nice lady. Didn't understand much of what she said but she was very nice. I think I was told to sit at any open table but I since I didn't understand, she directed me to sit at one specific table. It's like a diner type of vibe to the place. There is a QR code on the table to check out the menu. It's all in French. Based on Google Translate, I opted for Le Rock. She did ask how I wanted my meat prepared. It took a moment to explain medium rare. I also ordered a bottle of water.
She brought my water right away with condiments (ketchup, mustard and I believe last container was mayonnaise). the kitchen didn't take long to get my order out to me. You know how restaurants have photo shoots of their food to put on the menu but when you get it, it looks nothing like the photo? Not here! It looked amazing and just like how a burger should look. The beef patty was prepared perfectly. Their fries wasn't seasoned very well but it was very crispy so I'll let that slide since there was salt and ketchup on the table. The salad dressing provided the acidity to complete the dish. Overall, great meal and an incredible burger find in Courbevoie. read more
