Dined here with some friends a few weeks ago. Still thinking about their breakfast... I got the eggs Benedict. And for me, it was maybe the best I've had. The actual Benedict was just up there with the usual best, normal good flavor you expect. But they served it with a little side salad that had a vinaigrette and combing some of this with your bite of Benedict was luxurious. Friend ordered the horchata and I didn't think this could taste so terrible and bland. Don't bother with it. Latte was good. Atmosphere was cute and as other reviewer mentioned, Cali vibe. ahhh I have mixed feelings on Marlon. I've been here three times now. I really love that a cool trendy restaurant has popped up in the 7th, I feel like all the "cool" things are in the 3,4,10,11 so its a good change of scenery. I really love this place for brunch. I got the avacado toast with feta and pomegranite. It's the first time I've had that combination, I really loved it. I also love that you can get flat or sparkling water and its no extra charge. The prices are a little steep but the ambiance inside is stellar. The cinnamon sugar churros are heaven. On the other hand I came here for dinner on my birthday. I love eloté(mexican corn on the cob) and since this is trying to be baja cali style they actaully had it. Unfortunately it's nothing like real eloté which was a huge let down. My boyfriend ordered a burger, which he said was pretty decent. We both agree that the dinner menu seems to be trying to be american but is more on the lines with french flavors. Also in all of my visits here I've seen the servers be a little hostile with some of the guests, which has kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Brunch 5 stars Atmosphere 5 stars Dinner 3 stars Service 3.5 stars overall I think its amazing for brunch. This was a neat little spot. Definitely had a California vibe to it. Had the breakfast eggs and bacon. Toddler had the pancakes. S.O. had the Açai bowl so I felt like I was picking up what Marlon was putting down. Also the OJ was being squeezed just as we got there, and just like the Prince of Bel Air, it was Fresh...a little on the pricey side but worth the order. I'd recommend this place to get your breakfast on Cali-style. read more

As a native Californian having lived in France for the past 4 months, when I discovered this supposed "Californian restaurant" my interest was piqued. Marlon doesn't disappoint. The atmosphere is laid back and the decor is very NOT french, Californian. The tables are kinda small, but nothing unusual there. As for the menu, I went for the Fried Chicken twice (chicken tenders basically) with honey mustard. Fries separate, so it's French in that aspect. Friends got burger and a kale salad, California "staples" I guess, which they both enjoyed. Seeing some says about wait staff; only had pleasurable experiences in that regard. There only seems to ever be two both bar tending and serving, so service isn't speedy or anything, but nothing unusual. Wave the waiters down and they're fine. Both spoke English politely and tolerated my bad french. Overall, if you're living in France, this is a cute restaurant before you go out or something. HOWEVER, don't really come here for French food if you're a tourist. Maybe for some safe food if you're in the neighborhood, but it's anything but French, which is nice, but don't come to France to eat Californian food. read more

We went there because the yelp reviews looked so good. But I have to say we were quiet disappointed. The restaurant was empty and yet we had to wait for a long time. My friends ordered tap water that never arrived, and the staff wasn't really paying attention to us so we couldn't remind them. I've ordered juice and it was served in room temperature. One of my friends and I ordered the "Mexican Cobb" Salad which was nice, yet i expected more chicken for the 18 Euros we paid. The Cuban Club Sandwich was so bad that my friend only ate half of it and had to throw up later - it was basically just a a lot of ham with cheese and mustard - not really what you expect of a club sandwich! First of all, our friend recommended this place as literally the best burger in Paris. Can i just say that this burger is far from the best. I'm a big enthusiast of burgers but i could only eat one third of it, which says a lot. My boyfriend ordered chicken , which came as like 3 small pieces but had a price tag of 16€ which is absolutely ridiculous for a 'cool brunch hangout aka hipster bar' to have. Brilliant lunch joint in the heart of what was once my stomping ground. "Marlon" for Marlon Brando, don't know, but this California-grub-inspired joint has quite the menu: shrimp or salmon tacos, burgers, brunch, sides à l'américaine (truffle mac 'n cheese, corn on the cob...). Good quality and good food, and also reasonably priced (2 big tacos for 12euros). They've got a great wine list if you're feeling like a glass or bottle to pair with your meal. We were excited to see this restaurant open in the 7th arr. Went once for dessert and another time for dinner. Considering the exorbitant pricing this restaurant practices, we were expecting exceptional food, it was everything but exceptional. 14 € for some fried chicken fingers (Not including a side order), and 18 € for a mexican cobb salad (there was nothing mexican about it, and was very bland). When you have an average spend per person around 25-30 € (not including drinks), you quickly realise that it certainly is not worth it. On a positive note, the decoration is nice, the space is pleasant, and the staff are truly kind and attentif. However we go to restaurants for the food primarily, and here they really miss their target. (if prices were 20-25% less, it would be totally acceptable and we would go back). read more

A we missed home food, but was a bit pricey for lunch fix. Referred here by the folks at Zia when we couldn't get a table. Had the watermelon feta spinach salad, fried shrimp tacos (nice kick sauce I must say), Cuban sandwich and side of Mac and cheese. Only downer was my match latte which was too creamy milk flavored. DO NOT GO HERE. Sooooo overrated. I go to school in this area and have many friends who dine here out of necessity, not because they actually like the food. The staff is a bit pretentious and the food is definitely overpriced and not very good. I had brunch here once and lunch once. My brunch was French toast which was cold and soggy - I barely ate it and noticed the man next to me had pushed it aside and ordered something else. When I had lunch here they were out of steak, mac and cheese, and a carrot side, which, for a limited menu, is a problem. The staff, as other reviews show, don't understand what paying attention to a customer really is and they're a bit rude sometimes, especially if you're not French. Just go to one of the cafes nearby. They're bound to have better tasting food and better service. Marlon is overrated and overpriced. 3/5 read more

Arriving as a tourist I was treated just as so. The waiters are rude, the food is overpriced, and the drinks are NOT strong. Also for some reason there was a line for this terrible service. Without a doubt this was one of the most nauseating and foul restaurants I have ever eaten at in all of Paris. I ordered the Summer Salad, which, to my dismay, ended up being a few pieces of spinach with some scattered pieces of watermelon and cucumber with little flavor and absolutely no delectability. My son ordered the Fried Chicken, which ended up not only looking but tasting closer to burnt chicken tenders with an utterly dry interior. Lastly, my husband ordered the Truffle Mac N Cheese as his side, which proved to be the farthest thing imaginable from traditional Mac N Cheese. It was radically withered and was topped with what seemed to be a slice of cheddar dully melted on unsatisfactory and soulless noodles. On top of this, we received our bread towards the end of our main course and were given an inadequate amount of chips with our guacamole appetizer, which they displeasingly brought out 15 minutes after we requested a restock. To say the least, we did not dare accept the dessert menu and will not be returning or recommending to anyone under any circumstance. This is anything but a Californian experience, and if you have any sense you'll stay FAR away from Marlon at all costs. read more

The restaurant says to be California style, and I would say it is. The menu has a mix of Mexican-American fusion. They have a variety of drinks like flavored lemonades and smoothies. We tried the shrimp tacos and Cuban sandwich. The tacos were really tasty, the sandwich was good as well. I think it is a nice place that does have that California feel. Excellent food, though a bit pricey. Food is American New style, or Mexi-Cali. We went for brunch; we had two young kids with us and they had the perfect kids' menu for them to color on. The kids had the fried chicken and frites (they loved it), and the adults had the breakfast burrito (very good), avocado feta toast, and the egg in a hole. The food was good although expensive, but not surprising compared to "trendy" Paris restaurants. Nice decor but disappointed by the waiter's snobbish/"blasé" attitude while serving us. Served people their wine + food who had blatantly arrived way after us first, didn't bring us the wine we had ordered although we were pretty obviously just empty-handed waiting super long for our food, had to call him back to ask him to bring it (slammed it on the table when he brought it), never got the sparkling water I ordered, and got an awkwardly rough "are you done yet" as we came toward the end of our meal (but clearly still had food left that we were working on). (All this when there were only a couple other tables besides us in the entire restaurant.) As Californians living in Paris, we were expecting a California-chill vibe while enjoying good food that reminded us of home. Sad to say that's not the vibe we got as the waiters can really set the atmosphere for the whole restaurant. Won't be going back soon :( read more
