We ate here two times during my 8 days in Paris. I read about Schwartz's on TripAdvisor but was not sure where it was. We were wandering around our hotel's area and stumbled upon it. It looked very comfortable, just like a diner in the US. The place was hopping - it is very popular and had lots of seating. Our server was on her second day, back from 7 years in Quebec. She was very nice and made sure we got our big glass of ice with our water. We did not know the portion sizes the first time so we both ordered our own burgers. I got the hot and spicy, which the menu said had peppers on it, and my mom got the avocado cheeseburger. I got mine with just salad on the side, but my mom got half salad and half fries for no extra charge. A tiny thing of cole slaw also came with it. My burger did not have any hot peppers on it but instead some electric red sauce...and it was not very spicy. However, the meat was soooo flavorful and juicy. We ordered the burgers medium because from our experience, the French tend to overcook meat, but this came out a bit rarer than expected. We still enjoyed it more than the previous meat we had eaten. It was truly massive and we could not finish the whole thing. We returned towards the end of the week visit and split a cheeseburger the second time. The staff was once again friendly and efficient. This time we ordered the burger medium-well, and while tasty it was a bit dry. Oh well, it was still good! We also got a side of onion rings which were nothing special. This is a really great atmosphere and there is free wifi (you have to get the password from the staff). Though there were tons of people waiting for a table (and I am talking all times of night - we ate once closer to 7 PM and once closer to 10 PM), but the French never rush a meal. Our server told us to hang out, use the wifi and consider ordering a dessert "in a while." So turning the tables over for people is not a priority - very different philosophy than in the US. Came to Schwartz's because we were looking to take a bit of a break from the French cafes and bistros. Looking for something simple and more comfort food. Schwartz's deli was right on the mark for that. Arrived and we needed to wait for a few mins while some other patrons were just clearing up their bill. Once they departed, the staff were exceptionally quick with clearing the dishes, cleaning and getting the table reset for us. Prior to ordering we saw a couple of dishes being served up. The portions were massive. We decided that we'd share a burger. We went with the avocado burger. When we were ordering you can specify how you like your beef to be cooked. Went with medium. Our food was on our table in no time and thankfully the kitchen had cut the massive burger in half for us. Quite literally, there was a full avocado on the burger. I've never seen so much avo on a burger before. The burger was very good and so were the fries. Overall, our server was exceptionally friendly and our food was very good. The place is clean and the server to table ratio is very high. In fact it looks like the servers are waiting for you to ask them to do something. And they were energetic that way too. I'd totally go back to Schwartz's. Be warned the portion sizes are huge ! read more

My third time here...the pastrami is good and enough for two....the burgers seem massive too...definitely worth it...friendly waiters...a little pricey but value for money...probably why it's so busy and there's even a small queue formed at 12 o'c opening...try it, its a buzzy, fun place...oh and its happy to cater for kids too, always lots at lunchtime read more

Good food, good service. A little pricey for what it is tho massive portions. We went for brunch on a Sunday just before it got real busy at about 12.30pm. Brunch offered almost eggs with anything and the a la carte menu of burgers and pastrami etc. For two of us with 2 coffees and 2 juices the bill was €60 whereas the night before we had 3 course dinner with wine for €55 in MontMarte. Though great service, we were sitting outside and when the waiters weren't busy they would hang around outside on the corner in a not so inviting way. The waiters English was also good for us non French speakers. We probably would visit here again for a meat fix! read more

As Americans in Paris (a bit tired of brassieres) we were happy to stumble on this "American" burger joint. The milkshakes were amazing, the onion rings and bbq sauce delicious and the burgers were tasty. The burgers were huge, neither me or my husband could finish after snacking on milkshakes and onion rings, so I wished we had shared the burger. In all this was a great find. A good spot for a weekend lunch or brunch. The burgers and pastrami sandwiches are the stars of the show but there are also salmon bagels, eggs benedict, etc. Be warned that since Schwartz's is kosher bacon = turkey bacon. I had the goat cheese burger and it was dry (I should have seen it coming) but my friends who had beef burgers said they were amazing. I would LOVE Schwartz's to add a real veggie burger to their menu (the tofu burger they offer is a breaded and deep fried slab of tofu - really not the same thing!) - please, please please! You can't reserve and the line goes out the door on Weekends. Show up at noon when they open to ensure you don't have to wait. read more

This is one of our favorite places in town. Our first night we were pleasantly surprised at the service as the food. We were so pleased we ordered Uber Eats the second time around and it what just as tasty! The portions are soo big you can easily share a pastrami sandwich or burger. Everything we had was delicious, including the soups and cheesecake. I highly recommend if you are looking for that American burger experience in Paris! read more
