I've visited 84 Lumber a few times to buy materials in the past to do several DIY projects and never had a problem. In 2015 my wife and I decided to have a home built and ended up going with Marrick Homes. After deciding on our design, which turned out to be nearly 6000 sq/ft we moved forward with the build. That being said you can imagine how many windows we have. Recently I noticed that a few of our windows have begun to cloud which immediately told me that the likely problem were broken argon seals. After looking into my paperwork, I realized that 84 Lumber had provided all the windows. Because I had used them several times in the past, I was actually relieved that it was a local company. Not only that, the telephone number to the local supplier was provided by my builder, (301-843-4922). No sooner that I realized this I gave them a call and explained my situation. Being that my home is relatively new, I figured that this would be an easy fix. After speaking to the representative, I was told that I would be contacted by the person who deals with residential builders. That was more than 5 weeks ago. I do know that mistakes are sometimes made so I figured that somehow my call/message was over looked. Last week I called 84 Lumber once again, and again explained my situation, gave them my builders name, neighborhood, and the rep even asked for my lot number which I gladly provided. I also told him that I had called once before and had not received a return phone call. He apologized and said that the gentleman responsible for residential construction would certainly return my call within 24 hours. Again, no return call. This has gotten absolutely ridiculous!! 84 Lumber....at what point is customer service of value? I've called you twice already and thus far completely ignored!! read more
