One of my favorite places to eat! Many options, both breakfast and lunch depending on when you go. Workers are super friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]is a great place to meet up with friends to chat and eat![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Gonna be honest with you, looked at some of the pictures here on yelp and thought that it wasn't that impressive. Ended up eating there and let me tell you!! My breakfast was amazing! The cold brew was tasty! I'm gonna eat there again tomorrow! I don't even wanna try a different place!

828 Cafe was the perfect lunch spot for us while passing thru town. The menu has tons of variety. We sat in the patio and enjoyed fresh lemonade, an acai bowl, fries and a chorizo burrito - all delicious! You could tell everything was prepared fresh. I look forward to stopping by again next time we're in the area.

Absolutely lovely restaurant with incredible food! I have a gluten sensitivity and the tick-born disease Alpha-gal so I can't eat red meat or dairy. Was excited to see gluten free bread and vegan options on the menu! They have excellent cold brew coffee and an impressive selection of aqua frescas. I got watermelon and it was incredible! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kind servers, clean, and they have a patio![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The artwork drew us in, the ambiance, food, and service will bring us back. We were visit family in the area, and drove by this beautifully adorned cafe. There were 5 of us and it was very quick to order at the counter - a wide array of breakfast options with plenty of Latin American flair, which was perfect for us. We had the croissant sandwich with bacon, eggs, and French toast, the guava French toast, and more than I can recall now, but I snapped a few pics before it all disappeared - every bite was delicious. One of the employees, I believe it was Mariana, but it was hard to hear clearly with the hubbub of this local favorite. I highly recommend and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

Guava French toast with local sausage and fresh fruit and unsweet iced tea.

The food at brunch was very good indeed, great guava French toast, sausage, and small side of fresh fruit. Their iced tea (unsweetend, in my case, sweetend for my friend) was great, as well. And the atmosphere is fun, simple, has both indoor and outdoor seating and is very welcoming--as is a helpful staff who also were very careful regarding health precautions germane to the Covid-19 situation. However, one glaring problem: despite being located on the Little Tennessee River Greenway--a very popular trail with cyclists--there was no place to chain up your bike! No bike rack, nothing. Not even a handy street sign or anything useful at all. And the logo for 828 Café is even a bear riding a bike! You are right on a bike trail, have a bike in your logo, and yet no bike rack? I don't get it. Aside from needing a bike rack however, it's a charming place with good brunch dishes.

Having said that, I didn't order a steak after the banana nut chicken caught my eye. This fried chicken breast in a banana nut glaze was delicious and unique. This dish is worth a visit in itself. There was also a good deal in the special menu for two with a selection of entrees for $15 each. Portions were large and everyone enjoyed their selection. Service was fast and friendly, and the ambiance inside the old, Main Street building screams elegance.

We were the first people to be seated as the doors opened at 11. We waited once again for awhile before our server approached our table. We each ordered the All American breakfast. I ordered my eggs fried hard and the waitress seemed confused by that. I explained so they were just not runny. I also asked for an english muffin instead of biscuit. She had to go back to check and see if that was ok? She came back and said it would be a $1 upcharge and I said fine. My husband ordered his with eggs over medium, ham and biscuit was fine. We did not see our waitress again for refills or anything. 30 minutes later and after seeing other people's food come out(we were first ones in the restaurant) this meal came out. Eggs were burnt on other side, hashbrowns cold, bacon was premade and cold and my husband got bacon not ham. There was no chance I was eating what came out. 30 minutes and food cold and missing items. My husband asked for manager and explained we were not eating this food and that we really tried to give them a second chance. Will not be returning.

The bagels were very different from any we have had before, had a very home baked bread taste. The sweet potato bowl was very flavorful and hit just the right note for lunch. We did get a couple baked goods to go as well. The coffee was pretty good, they have tons of flavors to choose from and make some signature drinks too. The shop itself is adorable, clean, and had a steady flow of customers. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered an iced dirty chai latte, which is my go-to whenever I'm trying a new coffee shop because it's a pretty reliable way to compare places. It was good, and exactly what I was hoping for. I also tried the cinnamon roll. It was tasty, but pretty standard. Looking back, I think I'd try one of their other bakery items next time. My friend ordered one of their homemade biscuits. It took quite a while to come out--around 15 to 20 minutes--and several other customers were served before we received it. It honestly felt like the biscuit may have been forgotten, which was a little disappointing. Overall, though, we had a pleasant experience. Nothing was overpriced, the staff was kind, and it's the type of local place I always encourage travelers to support. While there are a couple of other coffee shops in Bryson City I'd probably try before returning, I still think La Dolce Vita Bakery is worth a visit so you can form your own opinion. Every café has busy days, and one experience doesn't define a business. If you're looking for a cozy local spot for coffee and a pastry while exploring downtown Bryson City, it's definitely worth stopping in.
