Came by with my date after a run on the Little Tennessee Greenway. Surprise, surprise! We ran a little too far and stomachs were growling. 828 Cafe to the rescue! My date had the chicken bowl with rice, black beans, lettuce, pico (more like a few diced tomatoes), sour cream, and cheese along with the house potato chips (weird but delicious side) and some roasted salsa. I did the burrito sans meat (really wanted the breakfast burrito...next time!) w/ all the same fixings as my wife's bowl. Super fresh and flavorful. If I had a do over, I'd ask about putting the chips and salsa inside the burrito. Super tasty and will definitely head back next time we're in town for a run. Horrible customer service. I ordered a Chiorzo bowl which ended up being chicken bowl with crumbled (almost burnt) Chiorzo on top. I wanted a fried egg on top. They told me I could not get one because breakfast was over. In addition, I ordered a barn burger ( which , by the way comes with a fried egg on top. I asked to put the egg on the side. The man cooking in the grill was very rude and said I could not get the egg on the side only on the burger. ( really???). The owner came out and said finally, that I could have it on the side. However, she questioned my son ( who has Autism). as to what he did not want on his burger. I proceeded to explain that he wanted most of his items on the side, but she put her hand up for me not to talk and proceeded to ask my son more questions. ( The order was already very clear). For some odd reason, they do not like putting items on the side! What is the difference if I am paying for it?? Our firs were also burnt and they could not give me lettuce or a tortilla wrap in place of a bun. Their explanation? "because it comes with a bun". in addition, they acted like they did us a favor by bringing us fries instead of chips (because they were out). When in fact, we ordered and payed for fries. This is easy to miss as it sits between two one way roads and next to another business but well worth seeking out! I had the Guava French toast based on Yelp recommendations and husband had one of their egg specials and we were both really happy with our choices! Their coffee is also very good. Food was to die for!!! I got the chicken sandwich and my sister got the blt. My dad got a bowl and my mom got an acai bowl. All of it was delicous and we are already planning our next visit! The service was amazing, they were so nice and also picked up our food for us. They all had smiles on their faces and were so amazing! The best part of our meal were the fries! Very good fries. We both got the BLT wrap with avocado. She without bacon, me with. The flavor of the bacon was good. There was just a little bit in it. The rest was not smackin with flavor so, nothing to write home about (lettuce, winter tomato and avocado). All in all an ok lunch. Maybe we should try something different. Nice people. Glad to see the employees wearing masks. Glad to have an easy porch to distance ourselves. Not wheelchair accessible - several steps required to get into the restaurant. read more

The place was (what seemed to be) the only open breakfast spot for a good Saturday morning. Atmosphere was nice, very diverse employees and very friendly cashier. Food came one by one by a busser, but never asked for any extras or condiments or came back to check in on the table. Seemed to rush out back to the kitchen. However the food was mediocre and barely warm. I ordered the Belgian waffle combo and my side eggs came out first and hot before the waffle, apologizes were given, though. A breakfast croissant was also ordered and the bread was so brittle to the touch it was like sand to fall apart once broken off. Not very favorable. We got in just before the rush came so it was easy to enjoy our stay. read more

Sadly we live about at hour away and haven't had a reason to be in Franklin before their breakfast service ends. I do wish they served an all-day breakfast. Found this little spot about halfway into our week stay in Franklin and my family and I became a little obsessed. Ended up returning three days in a row, unfortunately they will be closed tomorrow for the new year and our last day. Extremely kind workers all around and delicious food. Note two things up front: 4% surcharge on anything but cash and breakfast ends promptly at 10:30 AM. My 828 Omelette consisted of eggs scrambled then cooked until done like a pancake. There were two slices of bacon, a small slice of cheese, a thimble of mashed avocado, and a thimble of Pico. The bacon and cheese were not incorporated into the omelette, but were two slices of bacon laid on the egg with the small slice of cheese and the egg folded over them. The cheese was not melted. The ingredients were good but not combined well. Even with the house potatoes I left hungry. Not worth $13. More like an $8.95 meal. Our other meal was the Farm Fresh bowl. The ingredients were good, but again, in short supply. More like a $7.95 meal. Our other meal was a chorizo omelette, same problems as the 828 omelette. We had three coffees. If you want a coffee refull, it will cost you another buck. Our total for three for breakfast was $46 with a $10 tip. Too much for breakfast for three in a concrete block building. Relaxed atmosphere made to look nice with what they had to work with. read more
