My fiancé and I decided on a whim to rent some mopeds while on our vacation to Maui, and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made! My husband practically dragged me to 808 mopeds, I was very skeptical about getting a moped bc i had never rode one before. I was so nervous! However, the nice lady there gave us a short lesson and encouraged me. Lol she gave me the confidence I didn't know I had. After I was comfortable on the moped , my husband and I rode to Lahaina on the highway and then back the other way , all the way to the blowhole! And then again the next day! We rented eBikes and rode out to the blow hole mile marker 38.5. The ride was super easy on the eBike and the views from the highway are epic the whole way there and back. My family was in Maui for my wedding this month and we were staying at the resort right behind 808 Mopeds and my sister and parents went on an adventure to the Blow Hole and couldn't stop talking about how much fun it was. So my husband and I decided to check it out. I was reluctant to go at first as I have NO experience in any sort of moped/scooter/throttle but Sharon took such good care of us!! She explained everything to us and make sure I was comfortable to leave. The ride we took was so fun and not as scary as I thought it would be as we were only on the highway for a brief time and there was a large shoulder/bike lane. We will defiantly be coming back to adventure with 808 Mopeds next time we are in Maui and we cannot recommend it and the adventure enough! read more

Gil hooked my family up with e-bikes. The process was super easy, filled out everything online, and when we showed up, all we had to do was hop on and ride. I'd never ridden an e-bike and was a little nervous, but Gil put me right at ease. He thoroughly explained the operation of the bike and was very patient with my questions, and even offered suggestions as to where we might bike. Vroom! Riding mopeds was the only thing on my gf's list of things to do and I'm so happy we did it. I yelped and found this place so we decided to stop off and check it out because of all the good reviews. It was about 5 minutes from our condo which was very convenient. The price up to 5 hours is 39.99 and for 24 hours 49.99. The worker assisting us recommended to keep it 24 hours but we were unsure if we would get the hang of it since it was our first time. There is also a $5 charge for gas but it you check in on yelp or fb that $5 gas charge is waived. After you sign the waiver, you get to pick which moped you want to take out and they show you how to operate the moped. Once you know how to turn on the moped and use the horn/signal, they take you down the street to a cul de sac to train you on how to ride the moped. We were trained on how to accelerate as use the brakes, how to make a left/right turn. We were so surprised at how easily we picked it up. Training was about 15 minutes and there was 4 of us. We took the mopeds until about 430pm up and down lower honoapiilani road. Along the way we stopped at the beach for about an hour. The water was nice. It was so relaxing. Such a beautiful day to ride mopeds. It was awesome. We loved it so much and regretted not listening to the recommendation of keeping it for 24 hours. We're home now and ready to buy a moped. If you're in Hawaii, you need to experience this. Rent mopeds and keep it for 24 hours! read more

I brought over my moped 2 months ago with a gas pump problem and i was charged over price for the fixing, they had said everything was fixed then a problem popped up with the motor. I picked it up and took it with another mechanic and he had said that they didn't even change or fixed anything on the moped and they just put a mickey mouse on it to work, and they also messed up my motor purposely because i went to complain what was taking so long. Buyer beware. The owner, Joe, is super friendly when you tell him you want to buy a moped. Paid $2,600 for a Sym Mio on Mother's Day, and he told us they have to do all repairs, oil changes, etc at their place way up in North Lahaina or the warranty is void. They NEVER answer the phone, and rarely return messages, if they do it's 4-5 days later. Act like it's a big inconvenience to provide professional customer service. Called Monday, it's now Friday, guess what...no callback. How do we get service when they provide ZERO? Don't be fooled by the sales pitch! It's a good scooter so far, but their service SUCKS. So much for the free first oil change.............................????? My neighbor has the same scooter and doesn't even bother with them. read more

We have a motorcycle license, so we're able to rent their two seater (200 cc) motor scooter. Best was to go around the north side of West Maui. You can keep up with 45 MPH speed limit traffic until get to the winding roads of 25 MPH. Lots of fun. Will rent again when we return read more

Talk about a perfect way explore the island and at a decent rate. We called the shop to make a reservation same day and they were able to accommodate our request. The staff is welcoming and educated us on how to ride the bikes, show us local shops and make us feel at home. We hit up about five spots that they provide you will exact mile marker spots. Super easy to find even as a tourist... 24 full hours of having the mopeds which made it easy to ride around town. Also the best part was free parking and not having to deal with finding a car spot. We were very happy with our time spent with 808 Modpeds and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time.
