We rented mopeds from Robert at the beginning of December when we were in Wailea and had an amazing experience. The team was organized, prompt, and very friendly and helpful. We called in the morning to see if we could rent mopeds and had them within an hour and a half (an hour if we didn't have to eat breakfast). The delivery made things even more convenient since we didn't have to go and pick them up. We met Keoki at the front of our hotel and he was so wonderful. We've never ridden mopeds before, but he pointed us to the videos and gave us some pointers and we were set! He also went out of his way to give us recommendations for where to snorkel and tell us about cool places to go on the island, including places to eat and stop along the way. We really could not have asked for a better experience. We had initially only rented the mopeds for a day but had so much fun that we extended until the end of our trip. To return them, all we had to do was call them and arrange for the pickup. It was so easy. Renting mopeds our trip so memorable and allowed us to explore so much more of the island. And the drop-off/pick-up service made the process SO EASY and so seamless. If you're considering it, just do it. You won't regret it! read more

We called around last minute for moped rentals and came across Rob and Kihei Moped Company. Like all the previous reviewers said, Rob is awesome. Gave him a call asking if he had 2 mopeds for rent the next day and he said yes come in the next day. We showed up the next morning right when they opened and he got us set up with 2 mopeds, one for me and one for my GF. My GF had never ridden on a scooter/motorcycle, so Rob gave her a quick 10 minute lesson in the parking lot and she was ready to go after that. Rob was really patient and come when giving her instructions. He made sure she was comfortable before heading out. Mopeds ran great and we had no issues. THE BEST PART OF MY TRIP TO MAUI! Where do I even begin?! Nothing about this company was distasteful! I chose to rent mopeds from this company due to the reviews, and let me tell you that all of them are ACCURATE! The owner was sooooo helpful as well as funny! My boyfriend and I rented two mopeds from him for 1 day, I believe the total was $104 approximately. I don't think the price was bad at all. We had to pump gas before returning the mopeds, took less than $5 to fill up both! This was my first time ever riding one and I'll be honest, I was not comfortable at all. However the owner noticed that and kept reminding me to breathe lol! He had me get a feel of the moped until he saw that I was more comfortable. They're located in a fairly decent sized parking lot which makes it a great practice course. He had me go around a few times and made me aware of what I still needed to work on ( my right turns were a little shaky ). This allowed me to focus on it and perfect it before going out onto the streets. After going over everything, my boyfriend & I were more then ready to take it out around the island! It was the best experience! Mopeds are soooo much fun and if you are like me who overthinks adventurous things like this, DONT WORRY!! The owner won't let you out feeling even a bit uncertain! I can't explain the gratitude I have towards the owner. This experience made our whole entire trip. If I'm ever in Maui again, I hope they are too so we can rent from here again! read more

I found this great shop with very friendly helpful people. Bill is very knowledgeable about moped and have tuned up 2 of my mopeds. One of the mopeds I brought him had been sitting for 2 years with gas in it and they did a full tune up and everything else that needed done I came back 1 day later and it was like a new bike! They can fix it all and even have moped tires in stock and are great prices, service charges are also fair and have been very happy with every they've helped me with! This place was a life saver. When my boyfriend and I arrived in Maui we realized we might be a bit in over our heads in trying to hitch hike to Hana, so we immediately set out to find some other mode of transportation. A lot of the scooter rental places didn't have enough scooters to let us rent a pair for the week and the ones that did were crazy expensive. Then we found Kihei Moped! This place was super affordable, the guys that helped us out were very friendly, and the scooters helped make our entire trip so much more memorable. Not to mention both scooters came with a helmet, locks and a map of the island, making our trip so much safer. We were both pretty inexperienced in riding mopeds but Daniel made sure to take each of us out and show us the basics of the 49cc scooters and help us get a feel for them before sending us on our way. The MPG on those things was amazing. We made it halfway to Hana (we stayed in Keanae) and back before having to fill them up again and it only cost like $3 to do so. Although it took us a lot longer to get anywhere as the scooters we rented could only go about 30 MPH it was so worth it to be able and experience Maui so personally. Being on scooters made the entire trip so much more personal and intimate. (Even when we had to drive through the pouring rain!) Taking the scooters back was easier than renting them out, and the owners gave us great tips on where we could rent surfboards (Maui Wave Riders was amazing) and even gave us a ride to the bus stop when they saw us walking at the end of the day when we had finished surfing. Overall, I would totally recommend getting mopeds/scooters especially from here while you are in Maui! read more

Decided we'd rent 2 mopeds last minute, since we were sharing a car with 4 people and wanted some freedom. Car rentals are ridiculously expensive right now, so I started looking at mopeds. We called around and most everyone was sold out. This place told us they had 2 for the next day, price was slightly more per day than others BUT they would deliver and pick up. Scooters were delivered earlier than expected! I was encouraged to take video & pics as did the drop off guy. Being pretty laid back, I didn't get obsessive with the pre rental scratch and check of the bike. Upon return, it was pointed out that the ring around the headlight casing was missing. It is true the casing / ring around the light was in the before rental pics. Not much to argue about, zero clue how that came off and had to pay. Next time, I'll pull on each light and piece to make sure all pieces are securely on bike including all light housing, controls, pieces... you name it. Shit happens and unfortunately, this was a bizarre deal given we only parked outside the place we were staying and a hotel parking lot. That aside, the guys were super nice accommodating delivery and pick up. The mopeds were in otherwise great shape and so fun to ride around. The mopeds we had did not require a motorcycle license & are fine for local travel. The speed limits are 30mph around the Local areas and the bike tops off at 35/40mph ( 25 going up steep hills! ). We cruised to the 4 seasons hotel, makena beach, local markets and beaches so easily. There's storage in the bike for a small grocery bag or day supplies. Much much cheaper than renting a car these days! And much more fun! read more

My hubs and I really enjoyed this place! First of all, we went there one morning where the weather looked like it may take a turn for the worse but we wanted to make the most of it before it did. We had filled out all the paperwork, chosen our helmets and mopeds and were just able to swipe our card to rent the mopeds, and it started pouring. The guy who was working with us said to just hang onto our paperwork and come back tomorrow! We appreciated that a lot. Would not recommend going here to fix a moped. They act nice and say they are willing to help and fix, but then charge you an arm and a leg and don't fix the issue. They told me they checked everything and fixed my moped, and then it broke down again within minutes. I went back and they tried to charge me more to re-look at everything. They wanted to charge double for what another place would charge to fix the issue. Very rude guys. read more

All good! Was on the road in under 15 minutes and $50/day for the upgraded 50cc unit is the going rate. They had locks and helmets and were happy to give a quick refresher in the parking lot. Everything was in good shape and anytime you can get a rental 50cc scooter that can get up to 45mph, you're doing ok! read more

The owner of the shop is super cool and he genuinely cares for the safety of his clients.
