OMG this was such a great experience! Ryan really knows his electric bikes and even sells them. He lets you practice first. Has helmets that are mic so you can hear him. Love that he takes all the pics at all the stops for you and then emails them to you- what service! Also has a nice surprise stop of feeding the fishes in the ocean! Highly recommend this tour!

Phenomenal. Late review for our ride over a month ago! Went the moana falls. Forgetting our guides name but fantastic! May have been Emily. She made us feel safe, was knowledgeable, took photos of us, and just knew the perfect amount of interaction. Easy to book. Nice helmets with a microphone so we could all hear each other. Totally recommend.

    E trike from Lectric

Purchased a 3 wheel Lectric trike from Ryan in November 2023. What he offered was to bring the product to my house in Ewa Beach and unbox it and build it up, at no extra charge, which was a nice gesture. However, the 3 wheel bike kept breaking due to a controller issue. After calling the headquarters in AZ, I was told that they do not ship parts to Hawaii and that whomever I bought the bike from must have been a fraud since they have "no dealers in Hawaii." Then I explained I purchased from Ryan on 808eVentures facebook marketplace page. They said that he is a fraud and probably had stolen the bike! They asked me to submit his pics and business info, that I saw on Facebook Marketplace., which I did. The Lectric headquarters site in AZ, stated that Ryan "somehow" was able to get these bikes in bulk from them but then stated he was not part of their company. Sounded like fraud to me. I told the Lectric bike representative in AZ, that Ryan doesn't return my calls or messages in a timely manner, like a business owner should. Therefore I was willing to just order parts from them! They said, since bike is not even 1 year old, I should be able to get Ryan to fix it for free!! After trying to message/call Ryan @ "808e Ventures"several times he just ignored my messages!!! After 3 weeks of trying he finally replied saying he could fix it, since it was warrantied. So to get a new controller which was (a warrantied part) he said, he would have to have me bring him the bike and leave it for home to fix. (Perhaps he should have told me it was gonna take sooooo long) I mean that's what a good minded business person would do?!?!?! Right? After waiting a couple weeks, he was able to pick up the bike., and after keeping it nearly a full month he finally replaced the faulty controller. I must admit I wasn't sure if I would ever hear back from him as it was taking so long to repair. Every time I asked him about the repair he took so long (like 2+weeks) to answer back. Like if u are off island or busy just be honest and tell your buyers that you will not be able to get at it for quite some time, so they have a head's up. Instead he just ignored my questions-repeatedly.... One time he also said he was "back in Cali" and couldn't get time to look at it, which sounded like complete BS. Any saavy minded business owner should handle their clients with a simple courtesy. After several weeks, I made arrangements to finally get the bike back from Ryan. I noticed the controller issue was fixed, (warranty) but then the brakes were not working! Seemed like he let someone ride it excessively during the month he had it with him. After calling several local bike shops they ALL STATED that anyone who takes that long to make a simple repair was not a skilled journeyman in the e-bike world. After getting the bike back, from Ryan, the controller went out again! Not even 2 weeks went by and he never returned my calls. Finally on FB messenger he stated he would get me another controller and other parts which he promised, then he never contacted me again. So make sure you know that all his positive reviews are based off of rentals NOT PURCHASES. If any small business owner treats customers like this they should be reported to the BBB, however his 808 e Ventures biz IS NOT listed there... Luckily, I had family in mainland that could get me the controller from the Lectric HQ's in AZ., since they "do not ship" to Hawaii' My family then shipped it to me and I installed it on my own. Buyers be aware this business owner DOES NOT KEEP HIS WORD, and will leave you high and dry when you need him to repair your warrantied bike. Stay AWAY FAR FAR AWAY -Ewa Beach Lectric bike consumer

At the turn around point for the century. Still had most of my battery left. (One bar gone)

This place has the absolute best customer service. They went above and beyond finding me a bike to ride in the Honolulu Century Ride on September 29,2024. I'm an e-bike rider at home and wanted to ride on the century ride, but was unable to ship my e-bike (which I'm used to and train for the ride on). We rented ahead of time from another company. They too were very friendly, however the bike just did not fit. (I'm 5feet tall) So we dropped in at 808 eVentures to see what they had available. They do hourly up to a daytime rentals. I really wanted to rent for about 36 hours to get used to it and avoid the learning curve before the ride. I also wanted to trade out their pedals for mine. They decided to rent to me for the 36 hour and the pedal exchange. The bike they rented me made the entire 100 miles plus the ride back to the shop. I didn't need any spare batteries. I used 0 up to the 2 assist pedal. It was a very successful ride. The bike had a bit more beefy tires than my bike and I did have to get used to the drive in the wheel vs pedals. Every bike is different, but the learning curve was not hard. The bikes were all clean and the bike I rented was very well maintained. The only negative was the weight of the bike. And it wasn't that bad. I would definitely rent from them again. I would also rent to run around town on. So much better than renting a car, and who doesn't need a little more activity in their life. E-bikes are great for the fact you can make the as easy or as hard as you like. This rental company helped me pick out the best one for the activity I wanted to use it for. So very friendly. They even called back after we dropped off to make sure we were happy. Thank you so much for the excellent customer service and well maintained bike.

Amazing guy. Super friendly and explained everything really well. Had us do a test drive out front to get a feel for the bikes. The bikes are very powerful and can be stressful the first time you use it but once you get the hang of it it's an absolute blast. The guy there was super flexible and understanding so we appreciated that a lot! would definitely recommend to any and everyone.

I will never forget my Hawai'i trip because of this! First of, I want to Thank Ryan for being professional, friendly and being super patient with a big group like us. I suggest getting the 8hr/ whole day rent because you wouldn't expect how far the ebike can bring you. Also, shout out to his wife who helped bringing us extra tire and battery we really appreciate it!! Hope to see you again soon

Renting these was a highlight of the trip! Ryan helped us put together a custom self-guided tour around Waikiki, up to and around the University, out to Kahala and back. Ours was a 4 hour (half day) tour on first rate e-bikes. Quality equipment makes all the difference. Thanks 808 eVentures!

We had such an amazing experience today with our self-guided e-bikes today. We rented them all day but we didn't know the area so Ryan and his wife were super helpful in sharing with us where to go!!! I had never used an e-bike before but he took the time to show all of us how to use them and made sure we were comfortable before starting out on our journey. We first had a ticket to hike to the top of Diamond Head so Ryan mapped out how to go the scenic route to diamond head and it was really gorgeous!! After the hike we went to the shaved ice place he recommended and it was the best shaved ice I have ever had!!! We then rode the bikes up to Manoa Falls and that was really super gorgeous. Our day was successful and we had such a fun and memorable experience. Thank you Ryan and wife!! Super easy working with you and I loved the communication we received!!! He took these pictures for us!! Laura

Location: mainly Kapahulu Ave. and Monsarrat Ave., we often rode on the sidewalk which felt awkward to me but was safer than riding w busy traffic. Parking: we met our guide in the parking lot of Kapiolani Park, near the zoo, along Kapahulu Ave. Free parking and away from the crowds. Our guide: Kelly Beck. He was great - friendly, enthusiastic, and informative. He used a wireless speaker system, he had the microphone on his shirt and each of us had a wireless speaker attached to the handlebars of our bikes. We've been on other bike tours that didn't use this tech, using it enabled us to easily hear what he was saying as he led us. He's a former endurance athlete but the tour was easy - flat and low speed w frequent stops. Gear: - city bikes w multiple gears, fenders, good brakes, and clean. Each had a pouch in front to store stuff. - he supplied us w 3 large bottles of water, more than enough. - helmets: we previously told them I need an XL helmet for my big head and they remembered, it was a clean comfortably fitting helmet. This is where we went: -Diamond Head Market & Grill, Monsarrat Ave., *good, so good we returned for dinner: - miso ginger salmon, wasabi ahi, good sauce -South Shore Grill, was closed, fish tacos -ARS Cafe, coffee shop/food, we took a look inside -Rainbow Drive-In, just looked -Bailey's Antiques and Aloha Shirts, literally thousands of Aloha shirts, the racks were stuffed! -Da Ono: good lunch of lau lau, haupia, ube -Ono Seafood: we shared a small portion of poke (we had high expectations for this place but the poke was so-so) -Wailoa Shave Ice for a shave ice for each of us. -Leonard's! We each had a malasada, freshly fried and warm, yum. We rode through the the neighborhood on our return to the parking lot. Kelly gave us commentary on the houses, real estate, trees/plants, and the local customs and news. We're glad we booked this tour.

Will is a good guy and Velohana has a small selection of enthusiast-driven products and brands for shoes, gear, and obviously bikes. What fell short for me was trustworthy service for the money. He's a one-man shop which is commendable, but when you have customers and a fitting going on, one or both suffers in that time. Bike fitting was okay, but what fell short for me was the given expectation of a pro-level bike fitting for the majority. We had a decent fitting, checked all the measurements for stack, reach, seeing my level of athleticism, but nothing that went too physiologically in-depth. We checked my foot sizing but only measured my left foot. We didn't explore different insole supports or varying q-factor. We did not look at any possibly leg length discrepancy. We used the existing saddle that I had only and did not swap with others to explore saddle options. From the bike fitting, I went for a 2-hour ride and started to feel the same pains that I had before. Was there really a point to getting a fit from here? What really frustrated me was when we settled on best changes to make, we had to change parts on the bike. I left the bike in the shop and upon receiving it, the chain pops off the front derailleur within my first ride. This did not happen with my previous tune. Ok, maybe there was a little adjustment to be made. My original white bar tape he said was taped wrong and badly. Thanks for noticing my work, sir. When I received it, the black bar tape was wrapped inwards instead of outwards. There was a lot of little snobbish comments about how my bike was originally setup (handlebars, bar tape, saddle choice, condition and authenticity of parts.) In service, you would never accuse something having fake parts without actual proof. Coming back, Will believes my REAR DERAILLEUR is causing the chain to pop off and I most likely have counterfeit parts causing the issue. There was no checking if it had an alignment issue from the dropouts other than a visual check. His recommendation was to replace the RD to fix my FD chain popping off issue... I'm quite dumbfounded and regret giving the go-ahead to swap the part. He's a parts replacer, not a mechanic. To me, I figure to give this review a thorough attempt so others don't go through the same thing, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and we swap the part. Ride the bike a second time, same issue. In 10 minutes, the chain pops off going up the big chain ring and now there's light rubbing when in the easiest gears. It actually got worse! At this point, I'm no longer returning to the shop for service. Upon inspection of the front derailleur, the FD was out of parallel to the large chainring and the H screw was too far in to make a smooth shift after I made those adjustments, we are all good.

At 8:15 in the morning we marched up Waikiki beach to a spot away from a lot of the tourists with somewhat shallow reef waters. These waters had almost constant waves. Before we got in, Massimo chatted with us and explained all the fundamentals of surfing. We practiced some poses, popping-up, and how things were going to work once we were in the water. Massimo marched us out on a stone pier and helped us every step of the way out into the water. Some surf instructors keep students close to the shore where the waves are breaking lightly and they can't go far. That's not Massimo's style. He takes you out into reaf waters where the waves can push you far. He makes sure you are comfortable and as safe as possible (surfing is inherently dangerous) the whole time.
