My fiancée and I took a surf lesson with Massimo. We are total beginners, and while I am not a strong swimmer or super experienced with the ocean, my fiancée grew up near the beach and was excited to learn to surf. At 8:15 in the morning we marched up Waikiki beach to a spot away from a lot of the tourists with somewhat shallow reef waters. These waters had almost constant waves. Before we got in, Massimo chatted with us and explained all the fundamentals of surfing. We practiced some poses, popping-up, and how things were going to work once we were in the water. Massimo marched us out on a stone pier and helped us every step of the way out into the water. Some surf instructors keep students close to the shore where the waves are breaking lightly and they can't go far. That's not Massimo's style. He takes you out into reaf waters where the waves can push you far. He makes sure you are comfortable and as safe as possible (surfing is inherently dangerous) the whole time. My fiancée had a blast and even started popping up and trying to really ride the waves. I was very impressed with how quickly she got it under Massimo's guidance. Admittedly, I am a little heavier and less flexible, but I still rode some waves on my stomach on the board, and even rode a wave almost all the way back to shore. Wow, what an amazing guide! After spending the first two days in Hawaii we realized we weren't utilizing our time as good we should be. We had heard of MSH tours from a couple we met. They could not stop talking about what a great time they had with Massimo, so we thought we would give it a try. We were able to set up a kayaking tour for the following day that turned out to be so much more than we had expected. Massimo picked us up in a Ford Raptor and gave us a beautiful drive to our location. Along the way he showed us popular places to eat, swim, layout and tan, surf, wind surf, wake board, mountain bike, hike, as well as some local food favorites, historical sites, and places they are shooting film and TV shows on the island! We got to our destination quicker than expected and were ready for some kayaking. We thought we would get in the kayaks and go for a little jaunt out in front of the beautiful beach of Lanikai, and that would be that. But Massimo took us to the Islands that are right in front of Lanikai beach called the "Mokes", as one island is named Moku Nui and the other is Moku Iki. What an amazing tour it was!! My wife and I have traveled to destinations around the world and this trip to the "Mokes" with Massimo is up at the top of the list! Along the way he pointed out points of interest on land and sea. It was great because we went at OUR OWN PACE. It never felt like some kind of guided tourist trap. We felt like we were out having fun with a friend. He was helpful and informative but also professional and sensitive to our personal space. We felt independent and free to have fun, as well as safe and taken care of. He spotted some green sea turtles and helped us to get close enough for a picture while ensuring we didn't invade their space. We saw some turtles on the way out to the islands and on the way back as well. Once we got to the island we were free to walk around and explore a bit. There are gorgeous tide pools and crashing waves around the island. We stayed there for a while playing in the water and exploring the island before heading back to shore. On the way back we were treated to great views of the island. The lush green mountains surrounded by white sandy beaches is a lot to take in and enjoy. Not to mention we jumped out of the kayaks for a swim along the way as well, the water is just too inviting not to. Once back on shore we hung out for a little bit before going over to a local eatery for a quick bite to eat. After the trip was over he went out of his way to make sure we had a good view of the sunset that afternoon. This was not something he had to do by any means. It was very clear that he did it because he cares and truly enjoys what he does. After sunset we headed back to our hotel in a state of bliss from the amazing time we had with Massimo that day. One of the most helpful aspects of the trip was that after spending the time we had spent with Massimo, it made the rest of our trip easier to plan out because of the tips he had given us that day on the drive to Lanikai. We have already set aside some time next year to go back and do some more tours with Massimo Sport Hawaii!! I literally opened this yelp account in order to let people know what an amazing time one can have when booking a trip through MSH. We met Massimo while staying at the Sheraton Wakiki where he is a fitness instructor in the swimming pool. He was so incredibly helpful and nice. He gave us plenty of advice on which tours and adventures he recommended for my family's one week stay in Honolulu, Hawaii. He told us about his business of offering private tours for families- this was such a great offering as my dad is older and doesn't like the hustle and bustle of shuttle busses, early pick up times and late drop off times from chartered companies. Massimo took us on a private helicopter tour for my family of 6 people and arranged all our transportation. The pricing is on par with regular charter companies. Massimo also took the 6 of us on an amazing private tour of Pearl Harbor. He picked us up from our hotel at 7am and had us back in a timely fashion. He was also very informative and the car rides were always very educational. He transported us around in a Black XL Denali and the rides were always very comfortable and luxurious Massimo also took us on a beautiful, exclusive access nature tour in an off roading in a brand new, luxurious Ford pick up truck to areas that are off limits to commercial charter companies. The views, experiences , and education along the way were priceless. Excellent service. We booked a full day excursion with Fernando from Massimo Tours and it was great. He knows all the fantastic spots on Oahu, so once we told him what we were interested - he planned a custom trip for us. And the owner of the company, Massimo, came to see us off in the morning. We started with a great hike and gorgeous jungle views at Manoa Falls. We then hit the North Shore for great seafood at the food trucks, incredible snorkeling at Shark's Cove and a swim with Sea Turtles at Turtle beach. Knowledgeable and friendly (and pretty good price - $125 an hour for a group of 6 people), it was well worth it. read more

Massimo sport Hawaii hosted the yoga water aerobics at the Sheraton Waikiki hotel this morning. We had an awesome time and it was great for all ages and people of different fitness levels. My pregnant wife was able to do the workouts and also had a great time. Overall we all had a great experience at the yoga water aerobics class. Just finished a heavenly stay at Sheraton Waikiki, where husby and i LOVED the daily beach body yogaquatics class, taught by Maximus every day in the Sheraton's fabulous Edge pool! Max is an engaging, encouraging instructor who really made these daily workouts fun. We only missed one day, and instantly regretted it:( Now back home, I just purchased two 6" diameter rubberized noodles from Costco, and husby and i will be enjoying this amazing workout in our own home pool....until we can get back to see Max, hopefully soon;) If you're wondering where to stay in Honolulu, you should know Sheraton Waikiki is the ABSOULUTE BEST and Max gives a wonderful, fun workout that eases every ache and pain you've ever had, and creates a beautiful start to every amazing Hawaiian day. We took the North Shore tour with Max yesterday and it was more than we expected. Beautiful views of the ocean and mountains, yes, but we also had the opportunity to see whales off shore and when we stopped to get out of the vehicle at a small private cove, we saw this stunning girl sunning herself! Water yoga with Max at the Sheraton was really fun. I did it with my daughter in the adult pool. I usually don't do yoga but this was great.

Massimo took us out of Waikiki and showed us Hawaii. We toured the island..having the best fish tacos...the turtles...Turtle Bay....coffee... sugar all in 6 hours....My only regret is that we did not have more time to go deeper into the island.. all this with a guide that did his best handling us. instant friendship. Wife and I were staying at Sheraton Waikiki and decided try the daily aqua yoga with Max. Great class. Little bit of strength work combined with aerobics and stretch. Very nice way to start the day. Took a second class two days later with Massimo. Same format but with completely different exercises. I'm guessing you could take a class everyday and not get bored. read more

Absolutely fabulous! We met Massimo while staying at the Sheraton Waikiki, he teaches the yoga and water aerobics class every morning. He really makes the class fun and engaging! We then signed up for the Kayaking adventure -- again another amazing experience. It was personalized, they picked us up and provided all the gear.
