This has to be one of the best private birthday celebration by far and we're definitely going do this again! Rent the entire bike and gather the best 15 people to have the craziest and memorable time that knows how to work hard for that beer Thank you Danny (driver) for your energy and helping to make our adventure possible (amidst the rain we still had a blast) The only thing we wished that went differently was the partnership with one of the breweries that sat our party of 15 people to the side, but not once got waited on the 40-45 minutes we were there. No host came by to take orders, offer water, checked on us if we needed anything. Therefore, we don't wait around and ordered with the bar. The bartender was quick, we ordered a bunch of food and servers were quick. No complaints there! Just amazing that no one wanted to wait on a guarantee money making hungry and thirsty bunch of people that already had a reservation to their establishment. Thanks to Kathy H. for planning this fun outing for everyone! We were at dinner one night when Kathy mentioned Paradise Pedals. She had seen groups of people peddling together around Kakaako and wondered if we were interested in joining her. YES!!! Kathy booked the Kakaako Bar Tour for us and paid online. The instructions (such as don't wear high heels or skirts; bring cash for the bars; stay hydrated; cancel within 72 hours; etc.) were very clear. We were so excited! The day of our tour arrived and we met at SALT. We found the bike parked on the street and met Caleb, our driver/leader/tour guide. He was fantastic - very entertaining and knowledgeable! After we completed waivers, we were on our way with peppy music playing and an occasional clanging bell! We weren't allowed on the main streets, so we rode on the back streets. A few places were bumpy, but overall, it was an easy ride because the vehicle has a motor! Haha! The vehicle has somewhat of a roof overhead in case of rain. It did drizzle during our ride, but we didn't melt and our seats weren't drenched. The front two seats have adjustable heights for the vertically challenged. The 3 bench seats at the back and the two seats above the back wheels have no peddling capabilities. So, if you want to peddle, have the driver turn the motor off and sit at a functioning seat! If you want to stand up and dance in the middle, you can! There's also a shelf above the seats for purses and other belongings! Each seat has a cup holder - we placed our cell phones there! We had 40 minutes at the first two stops. Our first stop was Honolulu Beerworks where Carin taught me about Cocoweizen...yum! The second stop at Waikiki Brewing Company featured outdoor games (we didn't play). We looked at the gigantic vats which were near the restroom. Wow... a lot of beer is made here! Our third and final stop was memorable! Caleb booked a private karaoke room for us at Cafe Duck Butt, a Korean bar known for its soju. It was really fun! There were seven of us (we got a lilikoi soju and a taro soju) and a group of four visitors from California (they had the watermelon soju). They were so friendly! Thanks again to Kathy for a wonderful adventure! It was a great group project! We enjoyed yummy snacks at each stop, too! A shout out to Jace for suggesting that we wear Santa hats... very smart! My okole has finally recovered, so now it's time to write that 5-star review! ;-) Shout out and Merry Christmas to our awesome Bar Tour guide, Caleb!! He was the host with the most for the night. Very informative, great driver, and most of all, multi-talented! Music flowing from the Bluetooth speaker while cycling through the streets of Kaka'ako with the foodie squad was so much fun! Can you imagine 13 of us wearing Christmas hats and singing to "Living on a Prayer"?!? So much fun to be had. I highly recommend Paradise Pedals! Pedal in paradise on a covered 15-passenger bike, designed with cycling seats surrounding a wooden "bar" (Sorry, no open alcoholic beverages while pedaling). The seats vary to accommodate everyone: adjustable and non-adjustable seats with pedals, non-adjustable seats without pedals, and a two-seater bench without pedals. Finally, the center of the bike is a platform for party animals, or in our case, a motivator cheering us onto the final home stretch while we put the pedal to the metal! The good news?! The bike is electric powered so it can easily assist all of you non-cyclists, especially after having a few adult beverages. Hehe. The Bar Tour started at 7pm with food and beverages flowing from three different breweries within 2-3 hours. The first stop was Honolulu Beer Works where we enjoyed a few beers on tap and yummy bites such as braised beef flatbread and red curry Mac n Cheese! We had 45 mins here. The second stop for 30 minutes was Waikiki Brewery. Beer, beer cocktails, craft cocktails, spirits and wine were available, plus more bites. If we had more time, I'm sure we would have played a few rounds of cornhole. The last stop for about 45 minutes was Cafe Duck Butt. A couple of rounds of Lilikoi and Taro Soju with fried chicken and the most awesomest tasting French fries, made a great combination for singing "Don't Stop Believin'". Yep, it's a karaoke bar!! Way to end the night. Although our group of 8 were merged with the other group of 4 in one room, we still had a blast!! Take advantage of a discount if you're Kamaaina or Miltary. The pick-up location is at the SALT complex in Kaka'ako. If your tour is after 6pm, you should be able to find free parking along the metered streets. Or the parking structure should be fairly inexpensive for 3 hours. FYI: the seats were not as forgiving over some of the bumpy streets, so my okole was a bit sore during and after the ride. Book It! Book It Now! If you're a fan of beer and a little exercise then Book It! What a unique way to bar hop... on a multi-person bike to go from bar to bar doesn't sound appealing at first, but once you are on the bike you'll be like,"Ok, I can do this!" We booked out party online, well someone nice in our group did, and selected an available date that suited all of us. Paradise Pedals even offers Military &/or Kama'aina discounts (about 10% for our booking) which made the choice for us locals even easier. They have only a few types of tours, and usually go to bars only in the Kaka'ako area for regulation and safety reasons, I assume. We did a evening tour to 3 bars in this order, Honolulu Beerworks, Waikiki Brewing Company & Duck Butt. The tour started @SALT and we met our tour guide and signed our waivers before taking off. Our tour guide Kaleb (or Caleb?) made things easy to understand and helped us out at each bar... he made sure we fond a spot of all of us and helped us stay on time to depart so we could move on to the next... our last stop I think he had an arrangement with the bar to hold the largest karaoke room for us and we drank, ate and sang at our last spot, Cafe Duck Butt, with much enthusiasm to end our last stop. What made the night special was the ride on the bike. We sang, we peddled and shared our Aloha with everyone on the road... even for the few moments on that bike, each time was priceless... I have video to prove ;). Once we finished and got back to SALT, we were so rived up end made our own after party @another bar to finish our night. Will pedal for beer! A few weeks ago while at dinner, Kathy H. suggested that we do a beer crawl through Kakaako on a 15 passenger party bike! Party?! Beer?! Heck yeah! I'm down, baby! Paradise Pedals leaves from Salt in Kakaako in that thing next to Moku that looks like a barn. But because there was something happening on that Friday night when we met, the meeting place was in front of Morning Brew on Auahi Street. Before shoving off, the Captain of our bike, Caleb, had us sign waivers, gave us the 411 on safety, and told us that we had about 40 minutes at each stop. So the two vertically challenged bikers, ahem, me and D, sat up front on the seats that were height adjustable. Then, all but one, took seats where they could also pedal and power the bike too. And the one that didn't, sat on the 3-seater bench in the back and cruised because there are no pedals back there! Can you guess who that was?! Hint. She's a famous "Auntie". See the picture below and you'll see her back there. LOL! Once we started rolling, Caleb tapped into his Bluetooth enabled speaker and we rocked to Livin' on a Prayer and some Christmas jams as we headed over to our first stop, Honolulu Beerworks. Once there, we had 40 minutes to feed our faces and tank some brews before moving on. The next stop was the Waikiki Brewing Company. We knew the drill at this point so we immediately ordered our grub and drinks before moving on to our last and final stop, Café Duck Butt. The Brewseum was actually meant to be our last stop, but since we were having such a fun time at Café Duck Butt, we wrapped it up there instead. Caleb reserved a private karaoke room for us ahead of time and we were so thankful for that. We had lots of food, drinks, and of course, did a lot of singing. No mics needed! Just a bunch of nuts singing our guts out! Patrons on the outside may have mistaken our singing for wailing, but no, it was singing, thank you very much. The bike has a motor on it that was used most of the way while we supplemented it with our own manpower. What a fun birthday experience for Beer lovers of all ages! I booked a full Monday beer tour bike at 1 pm a couple weeks out. They were very flexible with reservations. It was for my husband's 39th birthday & he LOVES brewing beer & this was a great fit. They have various times. We did daytime while Grandma babysat. Paradise pedals offers several fun tours where you have the opportunity to pedal around kakaako in a 15 passenger bike where you are the dj! We opted for the beer lovers tour and it was worth it. Our tour guide was Duff and he was just wonderful. He made sure we all had a good time and was very patient when two of us were running kate to the tour. The beer lovers tour takes you around to 3 different bars/breweries where you have the opportunity to taste beers at your own pace. On one hand I like that you can pretty much order what you please but I wish these places had prepared a flight of beers or something of the like so that it feels like you are atleast beer tasting around the town. This tour is mostly having fun pedaling the big bike around the block and drinking as you go. This is great if you have a good group of friends to go with. Brew n Bites Art Tour was a really fun way to take in some of the amazing artwork throughout Honolulu's art district. of Kaka'ako! For my 40th birthday, I wanted to do something fun and out of the ordinary so my sweetest friend booked Paradise Pedals Hawaii for our party of 16. Before hand, she worked with the company to map out 2-3 destinations in the Ward area. We met at Makers and Tasters (plenty of parking) at 4pm on a Sunday, signed waivers, and were off by 4:15pm. What you need to know is that there is NO motor at all on the bike and only 10 seats have pedal power. Also only the first 4 seats near the driver are adjustable so your shorter bikers will need to sit there. I'm not going to lie, pedaling was challenging and my thighs were burning, but it was super fun to do as a group. We didn't drink while we were riding on the bike so don't think you have to drink on this tour. They also offer tours in the morning. The driver was super sweet and had a great play list to keep us motivated. We ended up stopping at Doraku and Panya and had ample time at each stop. We really had the best time and I would recommend it to anyone, but I'll only do it again if I had someone pedaling for me. read more

My boyfriend and I took the 2pm tour on a Wednesday and loved it! We bought it on Groupon for $35 each and then we just have to pay for whatever we purchase at the breweries . We went to 3 different breweries( 2 of which served food which was awesome). The tour itself is 2.5hours long. Ellen was our driver and she was so fun and upbeat. She gave the group such positive energy and was so pleasant to ride around with! I'm so happy we ended up with her. She was very nice and also made recommendations at the brewery. One of the friendliest people among others we met in Hawaii. The breweries all had a laid back feeling and had unique varieties of beer. My family and I had an amazing time on this pedaling beer crawl. Taylor was an absolute amazing guide & very high spirited (which is what you need when pedaling). The first bar lacked customer service and the drinks were subpar. Walked to the bar to order (since it was clear she was not waiting on anyone) & she declined to provide me service because I was with the tour group & she didn't want to "cheat the waitress" waiting on us. Really? Ot was hot & the bar was not air conditioned since it was more like a tiki bar. The second bar was great & the location afforded others in my group (whom did not drink) to get coffee or ice cream. The last bar was great. The games were fun & the group of ladies on tour were a blast. It was nice to get to know them. I guess you can't go wrong with a beer touring group of women. You've got to try this at least once. I went with my coworkers one day and it was really fun. I had no idea that there were so many breweries in the kakaako area. What's nice is that they reserve a table for you at each stop so you don't have to wait for a seat. You do have to have good upper body strength to pull yourself up to the bike seat which is pretty high for a short 5'2" person like me. I felt my feet slipping off the pedals a lot but it's ok because the pedals still move even if you're not actively pedaling. Also watch your elbows on the table because some of my coworkers had scabs the next day. Maybe wear a long sleeve shirt if your skin is sensitive? Anyways, great choice for a social outing. It seems ridiculous to be riding on this bike thing but it is so much fun and great if u have a group of friends. There's enough seats for 15. Went around to three different pubs/breweries in Kakaako. First stop Honolulu beerworks on the opposite end of salad, Waikiki brewery on queen street, and REAL gastropub at Keahole place. Even though it is for a long time over 2.5 hours, you get to stop and chill for over 30 minutes at each stop. And you don't even need to pedal fast. It's actually motorized. Haha. Some seats don't even have petals or if you prefer u can sit on a bench at the back of the bike to enjoy the ride. Only scary part is that the roads are not really smooth and you can definitely feel any dips but hey, when do you get to pedal around sitting with great company, bar hopping?! read more

The only hiccup was when someone in the other party decided to take the key to the bike without Dylan's knowledge. Once we found out 30 minutes later, we obviously told Dylan. I'll just start out by saying this: It's definitely a fun and unique experience, and our tour guide Angie was great, but I just don't feel like the Beer Lovers Tour is worth the money -- as a Kama'aina or a visitor. I'm mainly disappointed that your ticket price only pays for the pedal bike tour -- no drinks are included. Kama'aina pay $30, regular cost is $40. We visited three different bars and spent around $20 at each. In total, as a couple we paid $120 for the experience and honestly could've just walked around Kaka'ako and saved $60. I understand paying for the experience of pedaling around town, but we didn't even pedal that much. We only went a block or two during each leg and it didn't feel like we did enough to make the ticket price worth it. I wish Paradise Pedals had an agreement with different Kaka'ako bars and the ticket price included some sort of drink package. Knowing this now, the only way I'd do this again is if I went with a large group of friends -- to experience it as a group. I even think visitors could pass on the experience and just spend their time walking from bar to bar, exploring Kaka'ako. The pedal bike is cute and fun, but like I said, not sure it's worth the price of admission. read more

My friend and I bought discounted LivingSocial single seats ($17 each) on a "Social Mixer" tour that pairs strangers together on one bike. The other option is to rent an entire bike for your group, which can accommodate 15 people. A "driver" is assigned as the tour leader and steers the bike right down busy Honolulu streets while you and your friends pedal frantically to make the vehicle move. Along the way, people request to stop at bars, so you'll be a bit tipsy by the end. On the plus side, this tour was LOTS of fun, and it really is a great workout. I go to the gym almost daily, and I still found it exhausting at times to pedal the vehicle uphill. You are allowed to plug in your iPod/phone and listen to your own music over the speakers. Plus, even though you may be holding up traffic, strangers on the street got a real kick out of watching us pedaling and smiling like fools. We got lots of waves, cheers, and photos taken of us. As for the negatives... the seats were very uncomfortable (my bum hurt for 2 days after), the pedals often got 'off track' and stopped working, and I thought it was a bit rude for the driver to demand tips at the beginning of the tour. I'm not sure the 2 hour tour would be worth the normal price of $34 per person since about 1 hour of that time is spent resting in bars, not on the bike, but the experience was certainly exciting and enjoyable. read more

My friends and I had a blast. Definitely a must! Great staff and they make you feel comfortable right away. This is definitely something That I want to try again!! This business is just starting up however it has great potential, at this time it only takes you to 3 bars but it is working its way up. Definitely worth the 5 stars. I'd give it 10 if I could. We did the Kaka'ako Bar Tour yesterday (Saturday) and it was awesome! Our driver Ellen was absolutely fantastic! Very laid back and made the atmosphere amazing! Not gonna lie you might work up a little sweat pedaling the bike but the distance between stops was perfect! About a 5-10 min ride to each bar. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because at least 2 of the stops were all more like brew pubs and didn't have too much in the way of liquor. I was hoping because we did the bar tour it wouldn't be like that. Although I did really enjoy all the stops we made! Great atmosphere and such a fun thing to do with friends! Paradise Pedals is one of the most enjoyable things to do in Honolulu. You pedal to 3 bars (depending on the driver or company). The ride/pedal is about 10-15 minutes to each destination (all depends which bar you go to). About 30-45 minutes at each bar to have a drink and eat some appetizers. Our driver, Liz, was amazing. Definitely recommend riding with her! Super fun and entertaining. She had really good music and would check on us regularly in the bar. All I can say is just prepare for a work out! Bring water!! Definitely dress casual and comfortable. Some of you will for sure be getting sweaty! The more people the better to help pedal. No alcohol allowed on the ride, but you can drink at the designated bars. Overall, I had the best time. Meet great people and new bars. Highly recommend trying it! Two thumbs up for me!! read more

OMG! SO MUCH FUN!!!! How do you turn 12 strangers into the best of friends in less than 2 hours? Stick them on a massive bike, give them some booze and then put them in a small room to sing karaoke! This was, hands down, the highlight of my trip. We hit two bars - the Brewseum and Cafe Duck Butt (love that name) which were a lot of fun. Biking down the street though traffic was HYSTERICAL. People in their cars laughing and waving. Cafe Duck Butt serves some really tasty kimchee fried rice. That'll help soak up some of the alcohol. The best part? It is $40 per person and worth every penny You will make 3 stops. And only allowed 30-45 min at each stop. 1. REAL a Gastropub- they have TONS AND TONS of beers from all over the world. I suggest looking them up online before hand so that you can get the perfect beer! *i got: siren calypso centennial enigma dry hopped berliner weisse. I loved it. **husband got: fusion 39 hoppy wheat 2. Vintage Bottle Shop and Tasting room- wines and beers on taps. You can get 3-4 paired flights. They have a huge fridge with many options of beer as well. I recommend getting what they have on tap. You can buy a bottle of beer anywhere. *i got: Firestone Pick Pilsner. **husband got: Belgium voodoo ranger IPA Honolulu brewery 3. Honolulu Beerworks- this was my favorite stop. Make sure to buy a hat and shirt. They serve by table, and I'm sure you will have made friends with the rest of the group by now, so get cozy and enjoy a brewski! *we both got flights and I can't remember what beers they were. But they were very good! You will want to: -wear something comfortable and light. Shorts and tank, romper, etc. -closed toed shoes, or Sandals that stay put on your feet. -wear sunscreen -have hair up or bring a hair tie -selfie stick -cash for the breweries and for cash tip for your driver You will NOT want to: -wear a dress, jeans, anything heavy. -wear flip flops -bring a HUGE bag with you. Less is more -wear a lot of makeup. You're. Going. To. Sweat. A lot. This was absolutely one of the most fun things I've ever done. Taylor was our driver and she was awesome. From start to finish we had a blast! The first bar was Waikiki Brewing Company and they were not inviting what so ever. I think they should be taken off this tour. That being said the other 2 bars were great! We couldn't have had a more awesome day! read more
