    Our tour guide
    Maya G.

I would definitely do the other haunt experience if possible. The man that was doing our tour was not great, definitely info-dumping and the souvenirs were half wrong!! Felt a little unprofessional.

If this is your tour "guide". Stop him, and call the tour company this is not a real guide.
    Sandy M.

This specific tour did not include a pub crawl. The "host" did not identify himself as being part of the tour he just started telling stories in front of the meeting statue. We stood for 20 minutes listening to his stories and didn't move until 21 minutes into this "tour". We walked a few blocks to a bank that was another place of "interest". We stood there for another 13 minutes and listened to a story. We walked back to the statue where the tour ended. I had purchased extra add on ghost monitoring devices that we did not receive, and I pre-tipped the "guide" for standing in place for almost the entire tour. I also pre paid for a plush ghost that I did not receive. I will NEVER book another tour through TripAdvisor. After I wrote them about my experience, they refused to refund me without an explanation.

Eve was my tour guide and was very attentive (gave a curtisy text with directions in case we couldn't find the meet up location). Also very knowledgeable and gave lots details throughout, while also allowing time for questions. I highly recommend and it is okay for pre-teens/ teens if you want to make it a family affair.

    Meet up point. King Kamehameha

Getting there early waiting for my tour guide Maggie I had the opportunity to stand in front of the statue of king Kamehameha looking at the palace behind me. It was a nice calm before taking the tour. Not knowing I was near a few hotspots for supernatural activity. Ignorance is bliss in my tour guide. Maggie shows up with this energy of excitement, wearing a smile on her face. My initial thought was she is super excited to be scaring some people, but come to find out. Maggie is a schoolteacher that loves telling stories, and it shows she's amazing at setting the scene telling a story, her excitement and love her history make me excited and wanting to learn more. The tour itself was very interesting. I'm not sure if I believe in supernatural things, but the tour made me curious and want to do my own research at one point we were walking by a building, and I thought I was suffering from a hangover from the previous night of the bar crawl so I was feeling nauseous and as we were walking and went away the tour guy Maggie was surprised that none of us threw up at that spot because she said most people get really nauseous standing at that building because of the energy . Imagine, sitting around a campfire telling ghost stories with someone who loves telling stories, and the stories are actually historical facts.

Our tour guide Maggie was very knowledgeable and personable. We took extended tour and would definitely recommend the experience.

The palace, where are the queen was under house arrest in the right-hand bedroom for 8 months.

It was interesting, apparently it's more for tourists than people that live here. They gave a lot of the history of King Kamehameha and his wife. It also gave us some of the history on the island of when it was a territory versus a state or versus a monarchy or versus a chieftain. This is not an EVP type experience. They don't take you to a given haunted location and ask you to do recordings or try to communicate with a ghost in anyway. This is almost more of a historical walk than a ghost adventure. They did a good job and they were very polite and pleasant,. But if you're actually looking to have a physical type ghost experience this likely is not what you're looking for. It is an enjoyable tour.

Brent, thank you for taking us on this wild ride. We had an amazing time. This ghost story tour was exactly what we needed. As a professional storyteller myself I know exactly what goes into this kind of preparation. Brent was professional and engaging at every point of our haunts tour. Would highly recommend and I'd do it again in a heart beat. Experiences you ask? Yes! I got touched on the shoulder near the missionary building and my wife was poked in the back during the House of Honolulu story. One of my pictures at the tree also caught a crooked boy staring back at us. Check it out down below. :)

This was an amazing ghost tour. We have done ghost tours everywhere (New Orleans, St. Augustine, Rome, etc.) and this was by far one of the best. Brent was our guide and he was the perfect storyteller, weaving history & facts into eerie tales of the past & present. And paying for the extra part of the tour was totally worth it. The tour was very safe and had limited walking with great views of beautiful buildings at night. We passed cops and security guards at every turn, so we felt well protected. Brent also was great with our young daughter and even helped get us back to our hotel. I would recommend this company and tour to anyone.

Just finished the evening tour with Maggie aka Daphne and really enjoyed listening to her very well detailed and spooky stories about downtown Oahu. I extremely recommend!

Yes as other reviewers mention…read morethe road is a bit windy to get here but it's pretty worth it and in all honesty it's not that bad of a drive. It's about 20 mins north from the main Waikīkī area. When you drive up, there may be a parking attendant that tells you to pay 7$ (unless you have a Hawai'i license/ID). I don't think it's heavily enforced (for example if the attendant goes on break, you may be able to drive right by and they probably won't know but I guess that's luck) in any case there's signs also recommending you pay 7$ to park. You have two options here in terms of parking. The first spot will tell you on Google Maps that it's 6min to the farthest spot. There's more parking here and shaded picnic areas to enjoy the view off in the distance. From here you can keep driving or you can walk there, it's just a short walk over a small hill (6min is an overestimate IMO). There is a small shaded area but this area is mostly exposed to sun and the elements. However it offers the best and mostly unobstructed views of the city and diamond head. In any case this is a nice alternate to diamond head as the hiking/walking is kept to a minimum. Highly recommend if you can make the trip

I couldn't ask for anything more! The route to get here involves some narrow roads and a few sharp turns through a residential area, but it is manageable. Located within the Puu Ualakaa State Park, you can drive straight to the lookout point and park in the adjacent parking lot. We arrived at noon and there were a couple spots left, however it didn't seem like people spent much time here, so cars were constantly arriving and leaving. We marveled at the view and snapped a few photos before heading out after about 30 minutes. From the lookout, you get a stunning view of the city with Diamondhead in the distance. Informational plaques on the platform provide a history of the area and there is also a small shaded space, which I greatly appreciated. With the increased elevation, you can definitely feel the sun right on your skin so be sure to slather on some sunscreen! Although you will not get as clear of a view of the ocean from here (as opposed to at Diamondhead), this lookout point is a prime example of low effort, high reward!

I found him through TripAdvisor when I was seaching for a private circle tour. We were a group of two, and I wanted something small, custom and personal, over an impersonal group tour. If you are looking for the same, Dan is your man. Booking through the external sites is easy, but I recommend calling Dan and booking through him directly. He is polite and prompt in his service. He has a fleet of three vehicles: two jeeps and a van. We took a tour in one of his Jeeps. We scheduled a pickup at our Waikiki Beach hotel the day before. He picked us up promptly at 7am for our tour on the scheduled day. He was very professional, fun and a great conversationalist. He took us to some very beautiful spots of places with names I have trouble pronouncing. He will point out the spots of simple beauty, but also take you to places you never knew you needed to visit. Every place he goes, he has a story or experience there. He seems to know everyone, which makes your tour very efficient. He also adjusts your tour's pace to you, and you will never feel rushed. Some of the lookouts and beaches were so breathtaking. The Pipeline Beach area is a must. You would think places like that do not exist, but WOW. Even if you are not a surf fan, you will appreciate a stop there. The restaurants he takes you to are great! We stopped at Fumi's and Aoki's and I was impressed by both. The shopping area we went to on the North Shore was nice. Lots of photo ops, and Dan will even show you some filming locations from movies and tv shows. We got lucky and even saw quite a few whales during our tour! Overall, this is probably one of the best private tours I have been on in all my years of traveling. Dan knows his stuff, and we were super happy with our experience. Customer service, excellent. Driving, excellent. Tour stops, excellent. And Dan, excellent. Thank you, Dan!
