I've had a vision for this place since we moved here and B Construction was able to bring it to life! Overall I would rate them a 10/10 with a few little hick-ups here and there. First and foremost, the light oak flooring installment looks and feels amazing! Though they didn't rip out the old flooring they were able to seamlessly level our floors. Secondly, the kitchen cabinets turned out elegantly & when they installed the ceiling light, it was the icing on the cake. So beautiful! Moving on to the bathroom, the walk in-shower turned out like out of a magazine. Brian's guys precisely chose every tile to match the wave designs, tile after tile. Love it! In the bathroom they also installed our new vanity, mirror and a few miscellaneous items that were added last minute, no questions asked We also asked his crew to paint the walls & sand down our wood ceiling which both turned out great! They also switch out all our electrical outlets (which means they have a guy that specializes in electrical & plumbing for the bathroom - a huge plus!!!). Lastly, we added two ceiling fans, one in the living room and another in bedroom, which all our neighbors love and get a bunch of comments on! His guys were all super friendly and when I asked them to change something I didn't like, they weren't hesitant to change it right away. With that being said, there were a few hick ups during the renovation. Brian had a couple of projects that his crew were working on at the same as mine which means there was constant confusion for him. When he asked about measurements for our new microwave, he ended up buying another one later on because he thought we were in need of one, which was never the case. My full length mirror was also lost in the process because he thought he thought I said it was rubbish. Lastly, there were some moments when I would text Brian and hear back from him a few days later. Not a convenient way to communicate when on a time crunch. I would also like to add that although problems did arises, they were solved and the outcome was still a masterpiece. I will 100% hire these guys again in the future & now I tell all my friends about them!

B construction was fantastic…read more 1000% recommend these guys. Brian and his entire crew were really excellent - friendly, hard working and very professional (so difficult to find these days). They are all also really good at what they do and pay attention to detail. Brian keeps communicating throughout the whole process to ensure it's all done as requested - actually our place turned out better than we expected because of Brian's suggestions and input. Everyone he works with also really cares about getting the job done right, not just getting it done and it really shows in the end product. We couldn't be happier with B Construction, and have already booked them for another project in the near future! They are super busy because they earned and enjoy a great reputation. Mahalos to B Construction!

Thank you to Shannon and her team at Shower Mama for transforming my 30+ year shower stall into a…read morespa-like sanctuary for me! I woke up one day and had an epiphany: I did not want to live with a grimy, old, mildew-stained shower anymore. I am a working professional! I want a nice, clean, modern space! I reached out to a few contractors on island and they all quoted around 8-10K just for a shower. I was working on a budget of 3K. As you can imagine, that was a big disconnect. What was I to do? As if on cue, a Shower Mama ad came up on my Instagram. They re-do showers AND work with your budget. I gave them a call. Shannon, the contractor, answered my call and learned more about my project and set up a free consultation in my home. She learned more about the look I wanted, materials, and my budget. She took some measurements and was on her way. We worked for a few weeks back and forth finalizing the look and feel that we wanted to achieve that would fit in our budget. She gave four really solid options at different price points that included different scopes of work, materials, etc. In the end, we chose to refinish our existing shower stall (there were no cracks or leaks happening, just ugly discoloration), get a new shower door installed, new matte black fixtures, and replace our ceiling fan (OLD!) with a new ceiling fan/light combo. The first step was the painter Gary coming over and refinishing the shower stall. It was a night and day difference! Gone was the mold and mildew of yesteryear! It was an all-day affair, but they worked so quietly and were very considerate coming and going from our house to grab supplies, etc. A few days later, Justin and another colleague came to install the shower door, fixtures and install the light/fan. They had to do a little drywall work to get the light to fit, but it looks fabulous and they did a great job. A few days later, some of the paint in the shower peeled off. I contacted Shannon right away. She thought it may have not had enough time to cure (48 hours only and we have no window in our bathroom), so she had her team come back, re-sand and refinish it completely - again! This time, we let it cure for 7 days just to be sure, and now it's perfect! If you are looking for a craft contractor who will work with your budget and come with options instead of pushy upsells and excuses, hire Shannon at Shower Mama! You won't be disappointed.

Maika'i installed damaged/ defective floor tiles in both my bathrooms and tried to say the…read morescratches were part of the "design" of the tiles. One bathroom had 18 scratches and the other had 14. The scratches are between 3-5 inches in length and are very noticeable on the polished surface. First they tried to say it wasn't noticeable then they said it was part of the design. They will not replace it or refund me enough so I can hire another contractor to replace it. The work supervisor jun sent me pictures of another customers shower walls that had the same scratched tiles with red arrows pointing out the scratches and said it was "not noticeable unless you looked at it at an angle." This means they are installing defective/ damaged material in other customers homes too. I saved many years to afford this remodel and I am devastated by their poor work and materials. They also did a bad job of grout on the shower floors and bathroom floors and when I asked why pipes they installed for my tub to walk in shower conversion were off center they said they always do it that way. If they had told me they planned to install the pipes off center before they did it I would have hired a different company. Communication is very poor with this company. None of the workers on site speak English and their "supervisor" is rarely there so the workers are left on their own and they have poor judgement and little common sense. The owner Q never answers e mails or text messages when you have concerns and the supervisor Jun tries to charge you extra to fix problems they caused that should have just been done right the first time. They were supposed to install shower doors I bought from Home Depot but on their first attempt the doors were askew and not aligning parallel to the shower walls and they only glued the door jams on instead of following the instruction manual and using the provided wall anchors and screws that came with the kit. Then they threw away the box. I sent them a video from Home Depot showing them how to do it. The supervisor Jun assured me that he and the workers had watched the video and would do it correctly with screws the next day. The next day I called Jun and he said he was there when they put the screws in. I told him that the door jams peeled off the walls because once again they only used glue and no screws. I had to hire a different contractor to put in the doors even though in our signed contract Maika'i was supposed to provide the labor to install the doors and I paid them to do it. The owner Q said that it wasn't necessary to follow the instruction manual for installing the doors because his office worker who used to work at Home Depot said it wasn't necessary. I would guess that this worker has never installed a Delta Contemporary sliding shower door in their life. They put so much grout on the shower floor it obscured the floor tiles and you couldn't pry out the shower drain if you had a clog that needed to be snaked. Then they chipped the tile when the chiseled off the excess grout off the drain cap. Other red flags to watch out for: they want most of the money upfront or halfway through with only 5% due at completion of work. This gives them little incentive to finish in a timely manner or do a good job the way a 50% at completion would. They wanted me to buy flooring from their store for them to install but it only had a 10 year warranty. I told them my brother's flooring from Bougainville had a lifetime warranty for residential use and Jun said they could make theirs a lifetime warranty because they worked closely with the manufacturer in China. I needed popcorn ceiling that had asbestos in it removed. Although the contract I signed with them said if the ceiling had asbestos it would have to be professionally abated, Jun told me they could remove it even though it had asbestos and "we do it all the time." I told him his workers didn't have protection from breathing it in and I didn't want them getting mesothelioma. I also didn't want me or my family to get mesothelioma from their contaminating the whole house and the abatement company said it is illegal to be dumping that stuff in regular trash. I could go on but this is getting pretty long. My advice to you would be to know they are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau but you can still file a complaint against them with the BBB and the BBB will work to mediate for you, you can file a complaint with the Hawaii state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, but most importantly do not hire this company! Save yourself the stress and sleepless nights. They are cheaper than most other companies but there is a reason for that. Sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you get even less than you paid for...

While building, they didn't even use the slab design I chose because it was out of stock; since I am easygoing, I wasn't going to start an ordeal over it. We are now seeking out them to make this right. If you don't have experience in the same field or knowledge of fixing houses, I wouldn't recommend using their services.
