I ordered the Malibu sandwich and carne asada fries. The restaurant is very clean and a cool beach theme. The woman at the counter was very nice. My sandwich had extremely fresh ingredients like crisp sprouts and a tomato that didn't make the sandwich soggy. The sandwich started coming apart as I ate it because it was so generously loaded with toppings. I feel like a great bang for your buck. The carne asada fries are as the description reads, a Philly cheese steak on fries; they were really great and HUGE. my only complaint is the bread for the sandwich was a bit over toasted and cut up my mouth. So this was my first time going to this sandwich heaven...but it will NOT be the last!! Service - Extraordinary. The young women at the counter were great. They greeted me and helped me decide on a sandwich. There was a small issue with my first option, but they quick to apologize and accommodate me. BUT, it was my mistake, not theirs. Fries - These are the best "plain" fries I have ever had. They were served piping hot and ultra fresh. The fries were so hot, I felt the heat through 2 bags! They were uniformly cut to perfection (shoestring) and to a light crisp with just enough salt to enhance. They serve the fries with salt...and not salt with fries. Sandwich - The Godfather was absolutely divine. All of the meats were thinly sliced, fresh and plentiful. The bread was nice and crusty on the outside and perfectly pillowy on the inside. The last 2 times I've ordered lunch I showed up at the time my online order confirmation said it would be ready and had to wait 15 minutes in the store. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos because the food was too good to stop myself for the photo op. My husband and I were beyond delighted by the choices. It was ALMOST too much... ALMOST. We got a short chicken parm and added hot pepper relish. It was insanely delicious, a beautiful chunky marinara sauce coated a crispy chicken breast. And just wow! We also tried the Cuban sandwich as a shortie board as well. The shorties were served between 2 beautiful thick slices of toasted buttery French bread. The Cuban had all the right flavor notes, the pickles, the spicy mustard, ham and Swiss did NOT disappoint at all! We also had the Maverick, which was a roast beef with a decadent creamy horseradish sauce. And the bread had a beautiful crispness to it so that nothing was soggy. (Nothing I hate more than a soggy sandwich/sub!) BECAUSE there were too many delicious choices we also ordered a crabby cheese fry. And goodness me! It was righteous! I've paid $16/17 dollars for crabby fries that were beyond depressing. I wouldn't blink twice about any of the prices here. The portions were generous. Prices so reasonable! I simply asked for my fried food to be put in a ventilated container so it is not inedible by the time I reached my destination. (This was a to go order). She proceeded to raise her voice saying " I can only give you a salad container". I ask if she can poke holes in it and she goes off on me. "DO YOU WANT IT OR NOT?? I really like the food at this place. That has never been a problem and I eat here often. Today I called in my order. 1 Cuban and 1 Dr. Seuss Club with two bags of chips. 15 minutes later my husband arrives to pick up. He walks in and they ask if they can help him. He gave the name and said he was there for pick up. They told him it was almost ready it would be about 5 minutes. 10 minutes later they bring him a bag with one sandwich and two bags of chips. They told him "Sorry, we are out of Pork". You need to pick another sandwich because we couldn't make the Cuban. My husband was frustrated, but tried to be understanding. He asked for a menu... and they told him they were all out of those as well. He decides to just pay and leave. My favorite part of the little cookie wrapped in sandwich was missing. Prices are reasonable, the bottle of soda was not overly priced for a restaurant. Though I do prefer fountain soda and free refills. The cream of crab soup was thick & creamy, served hot, with a good portion size and very good flavor. The lamb burger was moist and flavorful and of a good portion size. The bathroom was clean as well. My only issue was the trash can at the exit was over full and no recycling container for my bottled soda. That's why I gave them 4 stars. read more

We happened to be in the area and decided to use Yelp as a guide to find lunch. Luckily, they had some indoor seating so my family of 4 was able to sit and be the only indoor diners that day. My toddlers ate some of the kids' quesadilla and fries (very generous portion for kids 2 and under) but really, they enjoyed the potato chips they have on sale. The fried onion appetizer was crispy and tasty! My husband's sub was warm and soft and pretty filled with toppings so it was a filling meal. My Greek salad was average compared to other salads and I wish the chicken breast was warm and not chilled. The marinated cucumbers in the salad were probably the best part to it. Stopped in to try the additions to the menu, skimboards. Have always gone here for a great steak and cheese which they serve on the best sub roll, but this time it was time for a skimboard. Basically a pizza but I got the Ratatouille which was covered with roasted veggies and cheese on a great crust. Slightly crispy and puffed up around the edges. They have two sizes and the larger was enough for me to take home and have for breakfast the next day. Worth a stop in. They have recently added a full bar and have specials, like happy hour all day,$5 margaritas. It's a local place in Frederick with great salads and the sandwiches are awesome as well. Great little sandwich place in the Safeway plaza. There's no sign for it and the outside just says "carry out" and is next to CVS. The inside is decorated with a beach hut with hand painted sea creatures, it's clean and overall inviting. There are so many sandwich options that it was hard to choose so we just went for the most popular, the godfather which is an Italian and the maverick which is roast beef with cheddar. Both were good and huge, I think they were the long boards. I'd definitely come back to try other sandwiches! We also got the onion leashes which are onion strings and they were good as well; I really liked the dipping sauce they came with, which also happens to be really good on the sandwich. We got the large to share between 2 of us but it was huge and enough for 4...definitely get the small if you have less than 4 people. Ever been on a blind date and when you meet you discovered she (in my case) was very unassuming? Then as the date progressed, you discovered that she was very interesting and a lot of fun. At the end of the date, she planted a kiss on you that you remember to this day. That was my experience at 7th Street Sandwich Shop. The website could use a facelift. The location looked ok. (They're going for a surfer theme.) There is plenty of free parking. There was certainly enough seating on a Saturday at 12:00. That was the unassuming part. I ordered an open faced reuben, my wife ordered a BLT, and my son ordered a turkey sandwich. We all really enjoyed our sandwiches. The breads tasted homemade and the meats were really lean. The sandwiches were the right size and had a nice balance of flavors. To sample the menu a little more, we also got hushpuppies and chocolate chip cookie bites. The hushpuppies were sweet and actually reminded me of homemade donut holes. The chocolate chip cookie bites were tasty and sweet. That date was worth every penny. Everything we got made us wish they were open on Sundays. Still, that just guarantees that we'll be back next Saturday. No waiting 3 days to call this blind date back! I decided to come to this sandwich shop based entirely on Yelp reviews, so I feel let down. I really wanted to love it, and I came with the expectation that my review would echo the accolades I've otherwise noted here. To start... It was a little hard to find because there is no sign on the building. The window has a painted sign though, along with a hand made sign on a piece of poster board with magic marker advertising they cater. Inside... The array of tables and booths seemed discombobulated. The register area was cluttered and had some hand written signs for this or that. There is an odd sort of bar area that appeared to be a work area? It needed a good cleaning. I ordered the "onion leashes" (onion straws, more like onion bits as it turns out). I then ordered the Banzai vegetarian sandwich, boasting three types of cheese with lettuce and tomato. Dining... I found a table - the booths all looked like they really wanted a thorough wiping with a strong disinfectant - and before I knew it the food was ready and delivered to the table. The server brought it in a cardboard box top that had definitely been used many times before. The "onion leashes" were tasty and crisp, the dipping sauce was also tasty. My sandwich looked promising, but failed to deliver. The cheese slices look like they had to be unwrapped individually to put on the bread, but there was a healthy dose of them. The tomatoes and lettuce were firm and good but swimming in mayo and mustard. As I sat there I noticed the floor...it really really needs a strong sweeping and industrial mopping. I hate that my visit didn't turn out. I hoped I'd discovered another awesome place in Frederick. But, on the bright side: their prices are very good.
