I had the honor to be invited back by Jessica (the boss) for tea tasting. Before I get into the reviews, I want to thank Jessica for taking the time to arrange this experience for me. She made me feel welcome and cared about my input. I can tell she is a great boss who is able to empathize with customers and understand their concerns in order to better the business. She pays attention to details and this is reflected by the quality of the drinks. Jessica really values the customer experience, which left a positive impression on me. Needless to say, I'm a fan and will come back when I'm in the area. This is a good hangout spot, but it's not as good for studying because there are no outlets to charge your devices. The shop is modern with a minimalist aesthetic, adorned with a neon sign, a bookshelf with games, wooden tables and chairs, and pendant lighting. The bathrooms are locked and only available to customers. You can also place orders outside through the drive thru. The first time I visited must've been an off day because the drinks were great this time and there is a significant improvement. While you can't change the sugar level for the refreshers, you can for the milk teas. However, even at the regular sugar level nothing is too sweet and I didn't need to change the sugar or ice to feel satisfied. Here are my reviews (those with a * are my personal favorites): *Strawberry Hibiscus Tea - a fruity and refreshing drink that has hints of rose hip with subtle sweetness, comes in a beautiful shade of red, slightly tangy and topped with a slice of lime Herbal Tea - a sweet herbal tea that tastes just like 王老吉 (wáng lǎo jí), very standard flavor and I have no strong opinions about it *Jasmine Milk Tea - absolutely loved this drink for its strong jasmine tea base, it is a sweet mix of tea and milk, feels light to drink despite being a milk tea Oolong Milk Tea - oolong tea base isn't as strong as the jasmine, it definitely tastes more milky and sweet, a great classic flavor Coffee base - used to make their coffee drinks, tastes like Vietnamese coffee (even though it's not), sweet and bitter but also has a sour kick to it, it's not bad but it's not for me and I personally wouldn't get it Mung Bean Milk Tea - made from actual mung bean so it has a grainy texture, sweet, super realistic flavor, comes in a pastel green pandan color, not personally a fan of the texture but this is the perfect drink if you are craving the taste of sweet mung bean Taro Milk Tea - made from fresh taro, tastes like a good taro filling in a pastry, creamy but still smooth to drink, sweet but not too sweet and doesn't taste artificial like some taro drinks offered at other shops that just tastes like butterscotch *Sea Cream Jasmine Tea - the sea cream is salty and fluffy, as mentioned before I love the jasmine tea base and would argue this shop has the BEST jasmine tea out of all the boba shops I've been to, the flavor and fragrance are simply amazing, the sea cream and jasmine complement each other perfectly, the tea mellows out the saltiness just enough to create a harmonious blend Green Thai Tea - the flavor caught me off guard because it strangely tastes like bubble gum, I couldn't bring myself to enjoy it but that's just personal preference, there's nothing innately wrong with the drink *Thai Tea - now this is a good Thai tea, sweet enough where you can still appreciate the tea and not feel like you're drinking straight up sugar water, another good classic, I would come all the way here just to satisfy my Thai tea cravings Assam Milk Tea - a well balanced milk tea, not too sweet, in my opinion Assam teas have hints of date/jujube which is why I personally love to get it, this is another good classic flavor Sunset Passion - tastes just like passion fruit, has a tropical citrusy flavor that is both tart and sweet, this drink is on the sweeter side and I would personally want to lower the sugar, uses fresh passion fruit (has the pulp and seeds) *Summer Mint - really interesting and refreshing flavor, zesty and lemony, sweet and fruity, uses passion fruit juice and is mixed with the special summer mint tea TL;DR I'm glad I came back and gave 7 Leaves Cafe a second chance. I initially wasn't sure about the idea of mung bean tea as it's not something I'd tried before, but it's definitely one of the best things on their menu! It has an interesting mouthfeel and a sweet flavor similar to taro. If you're a taro fan, you'll definitely like this. Their honey boba is also good, chewy without being gritty and with a gently sweet brown sugar flavor. If you're in a hurry they do have a drive through, which isn't really something I've ever seen from a boba place before. read more

The regular size is extremely BIG! It's comparable to a large one. If you ask for no ice, it does not line the top of the cup. It's plenty for me either way, but I can see why people may think that's unfair. The drinks can be sweet so I prefer to get less sweet. Overall a pretty small menu with a few interesting flavors, though everything I tried here was too sweet. The drive thru is pretty cool though and I hope more bubble tea places can adopt that idea. I tried some of the sunset passion, green thai tea, and assam milk tea. I had a friend get something with a foam cap and they put one scoop on top that didn't form an even layer and it looked like a pretty small quantity for the amount of tea. They also can't change the sugar levels of the fruit teas. I think the flavor of the green thai tea was pretty good, but I didn't change the sugar/ice levels and it was too sweet to have more than a few sips. I put it in the fridge and the next day it was much better after all the ice melted. I also tried the assam milk tea at 50% sugar, and it was even sweeter than the green thai tea. If you're looking for very specific drinks like the green thai tea or mung bean milk tea, this would be where to get them. Otherwise there are many other tea shops in the area that have larger menus. read more

7 leaves is a large chain in California that has made its way to Georgia. They don't have an excessive amount of drink options as other places, but has enough. I often enjoy the Jasmine sea cream and Assam milk tea. For toppings, I've tried their honey boba and egg pudding. Boba has been chewy every time I've gotten it and is great, but the egg pudding is a bit of a let down in terms of texture - more jello-y than pudding-y consistency. My husband enjoys the sea cream black coffee. Taro jasmine milk tea is also pretty good. My friend loves the Thai green tea but I've yet to try it myself. Service is usually pretty quick and I have no complaints. There's often samples and they might even let you try the drink if you ask. Plus side is they have a drive thru and reward system through an app. Downside is limited seating inside so it's often full. read more

I was so hyped to see this chain in Atlanta! Their drinks are consistently delicious and I love that you can order in advance via the app. If it's your first time there or you're feeling adventurous and want to try a new flavor, the staff is nice enough to offer samples. They also have a drive-thru which you don't often see for bubble tea. My favorites are the green thai tea or the mung bean, both with crystal boba because it's nice to have something to chew on without the extra sweetness of the honey boba. Highly recommend 7 Leaves! The guy at the counter was extremely rude--no greeting, no eye contact, and acted like I was bothering him just by being there. Super unprofessional. Definitely not the kind of customer service you'd expect or want. Won't be coming back anytime soon. We decided to stop here after a Costco run. There are a plethora of Boba shops in Duluth, so naturally it is easy to be quite picky. I was pleased with the selection of flavors they had for the drinks since they had a mix of typical flavors and different flavors I haven't really seen at other places. I ordered the Mung Bean Milk Tea with Crystal Boba and loved the way it tastes. It was a bit sweet; however, I usually ask for less sweetness at other places, so that may be a personal preference. I tried the Thai Tea sample, and it was quite delicious as well. The drinks and service was fast, as we had just sat down when our names were called. The atmosphere is nice, and there some chair to sit in while waiting. I am unsure if this would be a great hangout spot since there isn't too much seating. I would love to return again! read more

Currently love the sea cream Jasmine tea and their house coffee. Came here a few times already and their drinks are always consistent. I just wish that they can do adjustments like sea cream with oolong tea. Or just even oolong tea itself without the milk. Hopefully in the future they would consider these as options. read more

I loved their mung bean milk tea there but when I got it here the drink was grainy. I'm not sure if they came out with a new formula. The next time I came back I ordered sea foam jasmine tea and house coffee. I like the jasmine tea by itself foam got a little overwhelming and salt towards the middle and end.
