They could have grabbed a tire gauge off the shelf, written it off, let me use it, and then kept it behind the counter for the next person who needs it. When I worked in retail management, I made sure my staff was empowered to handle minor issues without having to call me over a few dollars. If you own or manage a retail store, give your people the authority to make reasonable decisions based n order to keep your patrons coming back. The customer leaves happy, your employee feels trusted to solve problems, and you don't get bothered after hours over $1.50. Sometimes good customer service really is that simple.

I never see artichokes there though. Their fruit department has something left to be desired. The only consistent tasting fruits are apples and oranges. Most of the time their offerings of berries and tomatoes are tasteless or old. That being said, this is still the best place to go for most of your groceries. You will save oodles of money if you shop here on a consistent basis. It's awesome that it's an employee owned company! You would think that would give the employees a better attitude but unfortunately there are not that many smiling faces working there. I wonder what goes on behind the scenes with management.
