Ok so the Market is a 3 but the sandwich bumped it up to a 4 star. Went with turkey sand the "Bear Valley Way." I asked for avo and bacon which didn't make it on sandwich but to be honest it didn't need it. Fresh veggies and the bread was crunchy on outside soft inside. The 6 inch is $9.99 and well worth the money. Much better than any local sando chain. Meat counter is small which is a bummer and was about 1/2 full of items. They do have a freezer full of Hook and Cleaver meat which is cool but no prices on most items. Tons of beer and beverage choices and great selection of liquor (although most didn't have prices visible). Sandwiches make it worth a stop in. But the no prices on items could make you crazy. read more

Two people working. Good start. One person ahead of me for a sandwich at the deli. Not bad. 20 minutes and the first sandwich gets done, but the worker drops it on the floor. One person started taking money for purchases, so I thought I would pay and it would be quick and easy. I was very wrong! Since two people can't work on two different sandwiches, I get bumped back for another 20 minutes. I didnt have time to wait another 20 minutes for a sandwich and left without getting what I paid for. Either hire experienced deli workers or shut that part down. They were all three great you can only eat half of the 6 inch. I just moved to this area approximately six months ago. This place was closed up until a few weeks ago. The bad reviews that are posted are obviously from a long time ago and a different owner. Tried it for the first time today absolutely incredible. one of the best turkey sandwiches I've ever had. also looked around the store while I was waiting. Looks very convenient. Seems like they have just about anything you would need for the spur of the moment. Great liquor department also with their own separate walk-in beer refrigerator. So glad they opened this place. This "market" charged me .50 for using my credit card for a purchase. One hundred percent markup on every unlabeled item and they charge me for their cost of doing business. "Shame me once, shame on you. Shame me twice, shame on me." I'll never go in there again. I don't even think it is legal in CA to charge for the use of a Credit Card. Just got over charged 20$ over on are bill that was supposed to add up to 46.56 and tried to charge me 67.56 For two 6 packs of stone beer and 2 packs of cigarettes When i confronted the clerk he was defensive and rude and started yelling at me and told me to shut up and not to talk to him that way I think the clerk is ripping off people by overcharging them and then pulling cash out the cash register and put it in his pocket what a scam should have called the cops The overall presence of the store is dirty and cluttered and Miss arranged inside there's beer in the cooler that is over a year expired we found I think twice about buying meat from that store that can't keep dust off their shelves how clean are they keeping the fresh meat area read more

Hadn't been here for a while but thought I'd stop in after smelling the outdoor smoker cooking tri-tip. A few years ago, I remember the tri-tip sandwiches as being amazing and worthy of the smell outside. But today, I don't know what has happened to this market, but the meat certainly smelled better than it tasted. The meat was overcooked, and I'm not even sure if was tri-tip. More like a overcooked corned beef texture. The bread was not really designed for tri-tip and they added some marinated and cooked carrots and peppers. Not my idea of a good tri-tip pairing. My diet coke tasted like plastic and I barely choked down about 60% of my sandwich because I had not eaten all day. If it weren't for the red licorice I purchased with the sandwich, it would have been a total loss. If you're hungry in this area and want a good tri-tip or smoked beef sandwich, keep driving south to Chuy's or J carters, or better yet, Calhouns on Washington. That's real smoked meat. Great market for snacks and sundries, but not smoked meat sandwiches. read more

Yeah the first review is pretty suspect. You go to markets like these for the convenience, knowing that you may pay more than a major chain. I can't remember the last time I went to a market like this where I didn't get charged extra for using a card. Compared to the other independent markets in the area this place is a pleasant surprise. It's clean and well kept with a good variety of merchandise. I've purchased wine, beer, produce, chorizo (homemade), bacon and of course the tamales. Definitely worth a stop for a quick grab and go to avoid the madness of one of the local supermarkets. read more
