I frequent this location for two reasons...because it's close to home and because of their rewards program that reduces the gas prices by .03. I hardly ever go inside though because there tends to be people loitering outside and panhandling day and night. This location never has paper towels or windshield cleaner available and the vacuum/air machine is almost always out of order.

I thought I'd seen it all, but obviously I hadn't. This one I'd done seen in dreams. Okay, more like photos on the Internet, but still. I heard the stories of 7-Elevens with gas stations but I thought it was too good to be true. Like drive-thru Starbucks, I assumed these were relegated to sprawling lands in the Midwest where the deer and the antelope play (until they get sucked into a huge tornado). But alas, the promised land has been found! Right on Georgia Avenue you will find what I think is the only 7-Eleven with a gas station in DC. It's everything you could think of and more. All the great trinkets of a 7-Eleven (chips, soda, coffee, slurpees, crappy food and cigarettes) plus the golden elixir (gasoline). Gas prices here are par for the course, and there are a ton of pumps for you to give your cash to Big Oil. Really awesome.

I stopped here and waited 20 Minutes for 12 dollars worth of Gas. I was trying to fill up my tank, but every other pump is broken or malfunctioning. A complete waste of 20 minutes on a very busy Sunday morning.

When we arrived, there were a few spaces available in their small parking lot, so we had no trouble parking. The shop is charming. They sell a few select beers and wines so it was fun to peruse them as we waited on line to order. Their menu is on boards behind the counter and they also have paper menus, which is helpful to those of us who need glasses! The staff was super friendly and helpful since I hadn't been there before. A+ to them for offering their coffee/espresso drinks in decaf! I had a vanilla latte and it had a deep, rich flavor. One of the best I've had in the area. For food, my friend had the bagel and lox and it was huge! She had to take half home. I had the garlic Boursin eggs. It was a nice pile of delicately cooked eggs, but I wished there was more garlic Boursin flavor. Still really good. It came with salad greens in a light vinaigrette, sauteed mushrooms, and avocado. Very nice dish. They have a serve-yourself water station and, though they bring out your order to your table, you must go get your cutlery and napkins. They have a nice number of tables for a small place and we were lucky to snag one. Overall, a really nice experience and I plan to go back with my husband next time.

The back that is a separate storefront is a grab and go service space. It was great to have two separate concepts to meet your coffee needs. We chose the sit down side with a full menu. It was unbelievable. The coffee was also good. My husband loved his seasonal drink. My cappuccino was a little bitter for my taste, but it did the job of getting me caffeinated to be a parent the rest of the day!

They were attentive and made great suggestions. I said I was n the mood for bourbon but still wanted something light and he recommended "we belong together" which had fresh crushed cranberries, hibiscus, ginger and bourbon, I mean it was DELICIOUS. The place is so cute, great place to work during the day and also catch happy hour, did I mention the $8 dollar shots at happy hour? Thank me later. We had had empanadas during happy hour, beef and chicken, and surprisingly the chicken was the star! The crab dip was good and so was the papas. On my brunch outing there we split steak and eggs and the salmon frittata. CHEFS KISS, no notes, my steak was perfectly medium and season well, the frittata was flavorful light and a perfect meal for "Im brunching but watching my waist" lol. Lastly, there is parking right across the street. Again, cant say enough good things, GO EAT.

The avocado toast topped with a perfectly poached egg topped with Japanese black sesame seeds is my go-to order, and the sandwiches are consistently good. Their cocktails are excellent, and the bar side makes a great venue for private parties or larger gatherings. I am apparently in the miniscule minority, but I find the drip coffee a bit too dark and somehow slightly burnt for my taste. Fortunately, they make an outstanding Dirty London Fog and a wonderful London Fog Chai Latte, either of which I'd happily order instead. All manner of alternative "milks" are available as are a pretty decent selection of local beers in their cooler if you are grabbing take out. Be prepared for a wait on weekends--this is one of Takoma Park's most popular brunch destinations. Like many cafés these days, it's a favorite of laptop-wielding remote workers, so tables can be at a premium. In my experience, though, solo diners are often gracious about moving to the communal table when they notice [or more likely are asked polietly if they wouldn't mind moving] a larger group waiting. It's just one more example of the friendly neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back.

Both were taken, but fortunately for me the two guys at the one table were leaving as I was placing my order. The two young ladies at the other table were very loud and animated when they were speaking to each other, so that was a bit annoying. Then six or seven people came in to order and he got pretty crowded in that small space. I loved my purple yam pasty. It was soft and fresh. I just wonder why my taro milk tea wasn't purple like the other one posted here. It was just OK; the tapioca bubbles were all clunked together. I had to get a straw to separate them. I will definitely return for takeout or maybe stay if nobody else is there and it's quiet

The interior is cute and on display were a variety of Asian-style baked goods and some minimal seating. The couple who runs the store seemed busy but rang me up relatively quickly. I got the ube twist and melon pan. The ube twist was really delicious -- I'd highly recommend it. The melon pan was disappointing; I expect a crunchy cookie crust on melon pan and this one was sticky and soft. The bread itself was super plush and soft and amazing, so it would be great if they could improve upon it with a crunchier cookie crust. The bread items were $3-4 each, so not the cheapest, but I was happy to support a local Asian bakery.

Today we took a drive to Kaldi's to order some breakfast to-go. The restaurant was really packed but the ordering process was actually pretty smooth. We ordered their 12oz lattes, my drink was modified to add a splash of almond milk. The lattes sadly weren't anything special and could probably benefit from some cinnamon or a flavor of some sort to bring a little personality to the drink. To eat, we ordered their waffles (sorry for the to-go pictures) I ordered the sweet corn waffle and my boyfriend ordered the waffles with fresh berries. The waffles were PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!! Probably the best and most creative waffles I've had in a long time. The sweet corn waffles were magical. The addition of jalapeño peppers perfectly balanced off the sweet flavor seeping through the waffles. It was beautifully paired. The waffles were also very creamy and soft. Only downside is that I didn't care for the random garnish of corn of top but I get the presentation. This might have been better if it was seasoned or sautéed but the random corn didn't add or take away from the dish. My boyfriend lovedddddd his waffles and berries and said that it was the perfect breakfast selection. I'll definitely come back to order more waffles but also wished that they had a way of conducting pick up through their online portal. As mentioned, it was packed in there but there were some nice seating around the restaurant so I assume that you'll need to get there really early in order to dine in. Overall, I'll return and hopefully I can try another beverage.
