Black worker with hat tried to start a confrontation 3 separate times!!! I'll start by saying I'm super laid back and don't get mad easily. I never leave reviews either. This visit deserved it though. I don't want others to experience this either. When I walked in there was music blasting... I go to get beaugals, and they were out so I said to the guy, "wow I went to two other 711s tonight and they were out of them too! Haha they must be popular!" And the guy instead of playing along and chuckling just stared at me and said "dude I can't even hear a word you're saying" in a rude tone. (So I shrugged it off thinking maybe the guys just a little weird whatever) so I grabbed another flavor of chips and went to the counter with a smile on my face cause I was about to eat and I was happy. The guy looks at me and says, "you got a problem?" (I literally have no problem with anything and don't even know why he would ask me that) so I just said "no" and smiled. Then the chips didn't ring up so he asked me if I knew how much they were and I said "no man I didn't see how much they were". And he just stood there and stared at me with a rude look for about 30 seconds before I finally thought to myself "well this guy obviously has issues and he'll probably just stand here all night or get upset, I'll just go check for him" so I checked and he checked me out and said nothing the rest of them time with an angry look on his face. Im a fan of 7 eleven since I was sipping slurpees as a 5 year old. My sister and I would share the x large one. Its still the best and most "convenient" store around. I love these stores and always have to know which ones are close by when Im traveling. They do need an update though - most of them are on the older side. read more

Well, this is the first review since 2013, and I have to say, the "weirdo" quotient is still pretty strong. Do not, under any circumstances, use the pay phone....not that you would, it being 2014 and all, but it seems to emit strong magnetic powers that attract the aforementioned tweaks and stoners. My favorite is the Mickey Rourke-looking dude with the rasta hair. To stay positive, after saying "no" the first time I ever visited, none of the "regulars" have ever harassed me since. And they stay a good 20 feet away from the entrance. Item #2---the parking lot. It's perhaps the strangest little Jenga/Rubik's cube parking array in a town full of them. You can usually park in front of the store, but getting OUT may require an act of God....(or intervention from Rasta Mickey Rourke.) Big problem is there is a building smack dab against the north side of the lot, which is also the main entrance off of El Camino Real. Get caught in the corner, and you may need to pack a lunch. (Which, actually, is easy, 'cuz it's a 7-11.) There are two spaces in the opposite corner, which, if you can back into, allow for easy departure. That's my best advice to parking here---HAVE AN EXIT STRATEGY. And don't ask Rasta Mickey about "The Wrestler," he won't get it. Oh, and yeah, the employees are cool, and the selection is about what you'd expect. Did I mention the building next door is a smoke shop? Do the math---Smoke Shop + 7-11 = Tweakers and Weirdos. But all in all, not a place to be scared of. read more

I'm not sure I agree with the other reviewer, yes I've seen some bums around there but not any more than I've seen in other spots around town. Im definitely local to San Clemente. I was born at the hospital we no longer have, 38 years ago and have been going to this 7-11 since I was a child. My experience with the clerk earlier this morning has changed everything. It was around 3am when my day begun. On my way to my boyfriends place, I stopped at 7-11 to pick up a water, dr. pepper, arizona, and a male vitamin for my BF . I pull up and a few men were standing around smoking outside so I head in and grab the beverages and head to the counter were the vitanins usually are and then pay. I look around and this darker skinned, older, heavier set man walks around me grumbling about ringing me up. Im a chipper person just smiling away in hopes he will smile back. Negative. I ask for the vitamin by name and he says they dont sell those, I reply that we get them here all the time with the last time being last week and he begins to talk at me so rudely about how he knows they dont sell them and that I dont know what im talking about etc. My jaw has dropped and I apologize for inquiring about the vitamin and he then snaps at me again and says that what I am asking for is for men not women. He then finally tells me they pulled them off the shelf and no longer selling them so I ask when they did this because I was here last week and was curious as to why in case there's an issue with them as my BF takes them occasionally. He gets all rude and starts acting sarcastic about how i want times and dates and is just saying weird stuff to me. Im now in disbelief thinking Im on hidden camers or something cause hes now making personal comments about my purchases or sought after purchase.I dont know what ive done or why an employee and representative of this location is treating me so badly. I try and just smile and say that the beverages is all I need and thank you. He starts to ring them up and another customer walks in asking about peanut butter pretzels and where they are located. The clerk snaps at him and says he doesnt know. Im just standing there in disbelief at how I was treated and everything that took place when the clerk looks at me and starts in on me again but now about the customer that asked about the pretzels. Telling me thats his friend and he can talk like that to him if he wants and just ranting nonsense. I shake my head and explain how im just standing here waiting for my transaction to clear so I can leave. Finally free from that totally disrespectful encounter, by someone on the clock no less and shaken from it all. I walk outside and ask a gentleman near the door if he knows the number to corporate or the owners info etc and he guesses spot on why im asking for that and how the clerk is totally rude and aggressive towards him when hes shopped on his shift. So this is not an isolated incident thankfully but worse is that its how this man is to every customer. How does this man still have his job here, is mind boggling to me. I will never return to that location again. 20 some odd years as a patron no longer. read more
