I have been picking up my prescriptions here at this pharmacy for ten years however the customer service and level of professionalism have declined terribly in the last couple of years. I wish there was a ZERO star available for rating this pharmacy. It is the WORST PHARMACY we have ever dealt with, with rude and unprofessional staff - reaching the highest level of unprofessional and rude behavior today, 29 November 2025. It's possible the representatives today may be the holiday coverage staff however their behavior towards customers is unacceptable. Elijah and Arianna are incredibly rude to customers, unprofessional, and they discriminate against various clients by showing favoritism towards people they know, and for whom they create special rules at the expense of increased wait times for the other customers, ie they are taking customers they prefer ahead of others. Today their pharmacist was on an extended "lunch break" 2:37-3:37 pm (?) and I had to wait 50 minutes in the pharmacy while another lady who had the same situation was dispensed her medications when telling them she was a health care professional herself (which I am as well). The favoritism and discrimination were so blatant, I asked to speak with a manager, but none was available. Dante from the CVS store tried to help, but he could not do anything and was appalled himself seeing the behavior of the pharmacy staff. I visited the CVS in San Clemente for the first time and was assisted by Chela, the beauty sales consultant. She was not only friendly but incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the products. There was a great variety of makeup available, and since it's the holiday season, I really needed a specific lip color. Chela went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I needed. Same medication for 3 years, yet every month there's a problem. Twice they deducted 2 refills instead of one, meaning I needed a new prescription earlier than it should have been. Even on the bottle from the previous month, it showed 1 refill left. They said no, it was a mistake. Pretty serious mistake! They've refilled others when I placed a stop/cancel because it wasn't needed anymore. Also told them in person to not refill one and they said, "we'll do it anyway". Why? I won't be buying or picking it up so who's getting it? Seems a bit suspicious and fraudulent. Currently looking for a new pharmacy. read more

A strong 5 stars for the state of the store -- from an abundance of products, neat displays, and organization. Well done!! 0 stars for the blonde female cashier upfront today on 3/18/23. What laziness is this!? She was avoiding doing her job up front at the normal cash register area. Instead, causing confusion, delays and frustration. There is a prominent sign that clearly notes you have the option of paying either at the traditional cash register or self-checkout. My preference for personal reasons was to pay at the normal register. I rang the bell, and she said she would be right there. She never came over. Instead, she kept directing people to the self-checkout area. Folks looked unhappy having to go there, but they complied because she said she would only take people at the counter if it was a liquor purchase. Really????! Next, each of the customers struggled with the self-checkout. Review the footage. Not a single one was a quick in and out checkout. Then this cashier had to spend additional time helping those folks because of the problem she caused. If she just went back to her normal post at the normal register she could have handled these customers one by one in a seamless and swift way. Instead, she caused further delays and frustration by continuously pointing folks to the self-checkout -- that clearly wasn't working out for most. I eventually had to flag down another employee. Thankfully, he was in management and kindly processed my order, and I was on my way. Note to CVS management: self checkout is an optional service. It should not be forced upon customers to use. Primary focus and way of payment should still be received by a cashier at a register. The grumpy blonde cashier needs to be addressed/corrected. Looking forward to better customer service in the future. I still have the store a 5, so as you can see, I am very reasonable. But this customer service issue must be resolved. read more

Very messy, The patient was asking the clerk if a medication was available over the counter , the man which was ringing her up told her it needs prescription or you can get it from the street , he didn't have his name on his shirt so I think he was just a clerk and not even a licensed pharmacy technician. But still it was really inappropriate. Even if he was a technician still it's very inappropriate ! He should have only said it's Rx only or either refer to the pharmacist. read more

I stood in a tiny line at the pharmacy and requested pharmacist consult. When she finally came over, I showed her a tiny red spot on my eyelid and asked if she could recommend an over the counter product to treat styes or eye infections. I was told that she can't help me with recommending any over the counter medications. This is false. I hope that the San Clemente Pharmacy department learn how to deal with customers properly. Then it's a big deal to switch to the lower of the two and almost always a few dollars more on their system then I'm seeing on my insurance and good rx apps. Today I needed many things to get ready for a trip. When I buzzed for help at the locked shampoo cabinet, a nice young man named Casey helped me right away. He was friendly and easy to talk to( he also helped me find a lady's shaver that I was interested in, and travel size shave for hubby. ) He took me to the self check so I didn't have to wait, scanned all of my items quickly and even asked about paper coupons, which were in my wallet and I had completely forgotten about(!) Just absolutely no respect. I had been on hold for 40 minutes on Friday Night November 4. A man answered the phone and then I was trying to explain the situation to him but I wasn't able to do that because he put me back on hold while I was mid-sentence. I thought he was searching the information but nope! An hour of waiting rolls around and a woman finally answers and was able to help me. It took her no longer than 2 minutes to help me. I really hope that this man has repercussions due to the disrespect he showed me. I could tell he was from another culture but that doesn't mean he can treat me (a woman) with with blatant disrespect. I will be switching my pharmacy and I pick up about 20 prescriptions a month from cvs but I'm not putting up with this anymore! read more

I came to this CVS for my HepA/HepB shot for travel. Got my first shot and was told I would need another one in 6 months. My travel companion told me I needed three shots- the first one, one a month later, and one in 6 months. The pharmacist didn't not tell me about the second shot. And then when I got my second shot, the pharmacist told me I needed my last shot 6 months from my second shot. Well come to find out it's 6 months from the first shot! It is scary that the pharmacist giving shots doesn't know the proper vaccine schedule for a more common vaccine. Do your research cause she obviously doesn't know. read more

I can't stand this place. First of all they lure you in with coupons and Bonus Bucks but their prices are WAY higher than other stores and Ralph's is right next door. I wish they would just have lower prices like Target or Walmart instead of playing these coupon games. They are a total waste of time. They also have horrible customer service. I waited at the register for 5 minutes and no cashier in sight. When the lady finally came up she said we have a sign right here at the closed check stand telling you to push some button. I don't have time to read a bunch of crap every time I go to a store. I expect that there will be a checker there. She was pretty rude. So I walked in tonight pretty late, just got off work, The security guy was lurking super hard. Without an unscrupulous plot in mind, I've nothing to hide. On a mission for a specific product the young lady that greeted me was more than helpful! She went above and beyond to help me find the item(s) I was looking for. Although the store layout had changed a bit since my last visit, the staff was eager to help and that really says a lot at 1am. Great costumer service! This is the worst pharmacy and I don't just mean this location I mean CVS as a whole. I have been forced to fill my prescriptions at the Camino Los Mares location due to the medication I take. Not only do I have issues every single time i come in to pick it up, usually due to rude and incompetent staff that can't look at my file and see I have taken the same medication for 15+ years, and no I don't take the generic form never had oh except the time they filled it incorrectly, and yes my insurance covers it everytime, or the best is when no one bothers to call my doctor when there's an issue they need clarification on or an insurance issue like prior authorization. What do they do, nothing that's what they do. they leave it sit there till I have to call them and wait on hold for 20 minutes while some register clerk deciphers my medical history in an attempt to figure out why it is no one has called me or my doctors office or my insurance to figure out what the problem is and then when someone with half a brain figures out the issue (5 days later) it only adds to the frustration to find out they never ordered the medication when the doctor called it in they don't have anything to give me, and it's a long weekend. Please if this is the kind of bs you want to deal with when you are trying to get the very medicine that keeps you alive, by all means head on into CVS you should be very pleased with the outcome of your visit albeit a week or so after you attempt the chore that should've taken you all of 15 min. The worst customer service. So many times I've been told to use self check out only for it to not read my coupons but they get stuck in the slot so no longer useable. Today I bought a prescription, coupons printed on my receipt, I went to use the coupon on an item and the cashier told me it wasn't linked to my phone number. Not sure how that's possible but you'd think they'd honor the coupon considering I literally had just received it 2 minutes ago. I've never met an employee at this location that seems happy to be there or like they care about anything that transpires. read more

I've never been spoken to so rudely in my life. I placed a pick up order that said it would be ready today. My email confirmation comes and it says not ready until tomorrow. So I call the store for clarification. They "can't find" my order that I've already paid for, and when I slowly spell out the rather long medicine name, they get frustrated, cuss, and eventually tell me they don't have it and HANG UP ON ME. So i drive to the store because the website says it's in stock. Sure enough, it's right on the shelf plain as day. When I go to check out, I tell them how rude their phone etiquette was. One employee, Scott, at least apologizes, but his manager on 11/17/22 who is standing there the whole time never even makes eye contact. He was the one that hung up on us too. Never going back. Don't waste your time with these people. read more

Pharmacist lacks any sort of compassion. They never answer the phone, you will be on hold for 30mins then the system automatically drops the call, I think the pharmacy knows this so they just leave you on hold until your call is dropped so they don't have to deal with phone calls read more

I scheduled a covid booster for today 7 days ago. I arrived at the appointed time and was told "we are out of booster vaccine." I asked, "why did you not notify me if you knew?" Answer, "my boss told us not to notify people." I then found out that the "boss" was the person I spoke to. Don't trust this pharmacy. This same thing happened 10 days ago or so to another person I know. They showed up at their appointment time for the covid booster and when they arrived they were told they were out. No notice, nothing. Don't waste your time at this pharmacy for vaccines. I called Savon at Albertsons in San Clemente in Pacific Plaza. They said come right over, we will give you the shot. The manager Ary stormed up to him, pointed his finger and called him a liar and that he double counted them. He falsely accused and embarrassed my husband in front of the whole staff and line of people. You bet I went back and let him have it. My doctor sent my Rx to be filled, but it was too early to fill. They kept the Rx on file until the day it was eligible to be filled and was supposed to fill it on that day. Apparently, a shortage of that medicine started and they did not have it available. Instead of informing me there was a shortage and letting me know they were not going to fill it, they just never contacted me. The day came and went and they never reached out which happened to be this past Friday, June 30th. I called the next day, Saturday, looking for my medicine and that's when they decided to tell me. Had I not called, they would have continue to neglect my prescription. Well, had they informed me on Friday like they should have, I could have reached out to my doctor to send a prescription to a pharmacy that does have the Rx in stock, but since my doctor is gone until Wednesday because of the 4th of July holiday, I have no way of getting my Rx until then. My medicine is very important to me and is essential to my ability to perform and function daily personally and professionally. It has already been tough this past day and a half and a serious struggle with many things going wrong. Of course, CVS will not take responsibility and will ignore the situation as this doesn't hurt them and they won't be held accountable for their lack. I am the one facing the consequences for their negligence. read more

The one girl with short hair that works in the drive thru. First time I picked up RX from her was in drive thru and she typed in the wrong persons name and had me come inside and wait in 2 additional lines to then have the pharmacist tell me they typed the wrong name and apologize. Second time I called ahead of time to try and make sure all my payment was sorted so I wouldn't have this problem. Go to pick up my RX Same lady with short hair helps me and writes the wrong name in the system again- tells me I owe 500.00 for RX! Had to wait for someone once again to help me and realize it was the wrong patient again. This place is a joke and so misorganized. If I ever have to pick up RX from here again I will avoid the girl with short hair!!! Place needs to fire her so people don't end up waiting unnecessarily. read more

This is ridiculous. I can't drive because of surgery on my ankle and I HAVE to talk to someone today. The only reason I use them is because I was having trouble getting one of my meds.
