She has been the smiling face I look for when I enter the door. She has introduced me to all of my favorite cosmetics. She never forgets her customers and greets as if we are old friends. Laguna Beach, Ca. I have rarely visited pharmacy's until one day I apparently got old. This was made evident by several health issues, some rather intimidating. I was amused at the outset by some doctors musing that "This is was happens when you get older". Anyway, I didn't come here at first because I assumed a small local business would not be competitively priced with the big chain stores. I was wrong, their price range is in alignment with the big guys, and they will often reach out to help you save money, especially for generic options. The same medication I purchased here was 30% less than was I was paying at Pavilions. They also have an abundance of personal care items and first aid necessities, including some that are bulked price, which I have a need for. I like the pharmacists, they are very young but strike me as being brilliant of mind. I especially like supporting local businesses when possible, and I can walk to this location. read more

Very surprised to find that the pharmacy staff does not wear masks. For that matter, no one in the store including other staff members wore masks. This place caters to the older group of long term residents. Unless there is an urgent need to buy medical supplies locally, I probably will go elsewhere. read more

I attempted to fill a prescription for Ivermectin. The pharmacy refused to fill it stating that Ivermectin cannot be used to treat COVID. Thee FDA has said that it is legal to prescribe off label for COVID. This pharmacist is practicing medicine without a license. The prescription was legitimately prescribed by a license medical doctor in California. It is not the job of any pharmacist to practice medicine and by denying filling this drug which is over the counter in over 100 countries and is on the WHO's list of 50 essential medicines he has violated several laws. I will be filing a complaint with both the California Medical licensing board and the California Pharmacy Board. I take no other medications and as such have no possible drug interactions. His job is to dispense medication, not make medical decisions on which drugs are appropriate for me read more

Aside from this store being an old school style pharmacy, with everything under the sun, the customer service was old school as well . I ended up going in there three separate times during my short stay in Laguna each time I dealt with three different sales persons . Each one went out of their way to be helpful and friendly in a genuine way . I know it sound simple, but it's rare these days . As an example, The arm of my eyeglasses broke and one of the women helped me crazy glue them back together. I love this placeI wish there was a Bushard's in Los Angeles ! They just don't make drugstores like these anymore. Bushard reminds me of drugstores when I was in college (that was a loooonnng time ago) where apart from getting your medication and toiletries, there is also a whole bunch of stuff to look at. I couldn't tell you exactly what is in there because there are too many to list, but you can spend hours in here browsing and even after all that time spent, you could walk out with a whole basket full of stuff, or nothing at all. I've been vacationing in Laguna Beach every year since 2003. I've been in Bushard's plenty of times during routing walks around the area - usually for a candy bar or cough drops. During my current trip I felt under the weather. I went to a doctor about a 3 minute walk from Bushard's the doctor's office send my prescription to them and by the time I had walked over it was pretty much ready for pickup - now that is FAST! Do not buy anything here ! I purchase a hat and brought it back the next day. Anyways. She would not take it back because of covid. Yet all the stores on the area take back their clothing and hats and at least offer store credit. It was not brought to my attention at the time of purchase and they have little signs that one does not even notice. I have purchased things there before. I won't go back there ever again. My experience with Bushards was unfortunate. We are limited in Laguna village to locally operated pharmacies, because of course we are. As a result, you end up dealing with these mom and pop operations that don't often get it. Firstly they don't have a contract with my insurance provider, which is Blue Shield. This is only one of the largest commercial insurance providers in California. Anyways, they worked around that, but then gave me medications in a bottle that was non-child proof. Simple twist off, which my 2 year old is easily able to open. Apparently they have the child proof lids, but default to these because older customers complained. They didn't offer the option when I was picking up the meds. What's more important guys? What a joke. read more

Do not waste your time with this pharmacy if you actually have prescriptions that need to be filled. Not only do you have to call them yourself an hour ahead of time to make sure that the prescription your doctor already sent to them over 24 hours ago is being filled--never in my life have I had to call in my own prescriptions to a pharmacy after a doctor has already sent them-- but when you get there, you'll likely have to wait an additional 15-25 minutes for them to actually fill it. The ladies at the front counter are very nice, but you'll only get to experience them if you make it through the unprofessional pharmacists who are not only snappy in tone, but clearly have not heard of how to properly wear masks over a year into a global pandemic. Are you not healthcare professionals? I wanted to support the small business and keep our town's small family stores thriving, but this is exactly how my experience has gone every single time I've had a prescription sent here for the last six months. If you need something quick, like sunscreen or Tylenol, go for it. If you need your prescription medicine in a timely manner, I'd suggest CVS. read more

Just left Bushards while driving through Laguna Beach on a cold rainy day in March. Because of the sad situation the world is in right now with the virus we were extremely pleased to be welcomed by a ray of sunshine named Louisa. A beautiful smile and personality to match. We went there for Laguna Canyon Organic CBD products which we had purchased there last October. She was a wealth of information about which product would best suit our needs during these trying times. I have been using Rene Furterer hair care for years and love the brand and philosophy. I wanted to support Pierre Fabrè pharmaceuticals. Avenè is a skincare line for sensitive skin. I just started to use a couple different items in the line and I am in love. Skin feels great! So far I have purchased the 50 SPF for skin and body. The foam cleanser, the SPF make up and the thermal water and I will be back for more. Price point is worth it. Love this store and love to support local business. Very nice staff, over priced and a lot of beauty products instead of essentials. If you are out of town and looking for normal portion sized or inexpensive brands, this is not he place to go.
