I came in here to get some Hanukkah candles tonight and they actually had them and they were on sale so I'd say 4 stars! I haven't gone to the pharmacy here but the store itself is pretty clean. There were a lot of people wearing masks so I feel safe. It was unusually hot in the store, though, so they need to check the thermostat! I had to takeoff my bubble jacket because it was so warm!! Waited 40 mins at the pharmacy just for them to tell me that they don't have the medicine. Won't be coming here again for medicine.

There's two reasons they only get one star . Reason 1 is they employe a cashier that is a complete and total moron. He's a slim fairly tall character that likes to talk really fast ... it actually slows down the process when he's the only casher working and 13 people in line.. I've seen this guy in action when there's a crowd . Reason 2. get this ... You are not allowed to bring the shopping carts out the store , .they have strapped pole's to the carts as apparently the neighborhood folk would walk them home and leave them in the gutter ...which makes total sense if you've seen the area . I feel they are overpriced, and the selection is lacking. Service was pretty much nonexistent, check out very slow. Sometimes you find what you need sometimes you don't, not very busy, yet I was still a long wait. Plenty of easy parking, will do if you're in the area and really need something. read more

I just stopped in this store about 10 minutes ago the the tall older gentleman who said his name was Mike , was so rude and disrespectful. I left the store and walked back in to get his name . Unbelievable. My daughter had an emergency and needed to use the restroom and he was quick to say "no" . As a paying customer and an emergency situation I was shocked with the tone in which he spoke to us . Considering there are several options to shop at in the area and a CVS across the street , we will never ship here again . If I was the GM I would fire him on the spot . There are so many people looking for a job that would provide excellent service . This man needs to go. I would not recommend this store . CVS is across the street . read more

I'm writing in support of my Rite Aid! There sure are a lot of critical haters out there... what's new? The staff does a fine job of dealing with every kind of customer, which isn't easy. Each cashier has their own personality and style. Hey, Johnny B., we like fast talkin' Mike, that's the man you referred to as a character and a moron. We appreciate everyone who works there. Always ready to help and carry out whatever you need to your car. Chris, the manager, does a great job of running the store and seems to always be there while still maintaining a happy attitude. I wanted to use the bathroom and the sign said "these restrooms are locked to improve your shopping experience". why would that improve my experience? i was here two hours before close, i asked the tall bald guy at the front for a key and he said "the restroom is closed" and didn't even make eye contact. when i asked him why he said "because they're closed" in a super angry tone. i explain that i had a newborn baby and it was an emergency and he said "they're closed". he was unbelievably rude like what the actual hell, you could have just told me that nicely instead of acting like an old fart. i called the store later and the manager was defending him and wouldn't give me his name. read more

Loyola was my cashier. She had a bad attitude about me returning an item I just purchased last night. When I said I want to return two items she said "oh you didn't tell me and I already processed it" well as someone who works in customer service you don't make the customer feel like it's their fault. I was still polite and decided to not give her more work. So I said "Nevermind".. When I left I said thank you and she didn't even acknowledge it. Bad bad experience. I was very polite and so were half a dozen other people waiting in line to get their medicine. Nothing urks me more when they say the bathrooms broken and turn you away. So both the mens and womens are broken at the same time? Where do the employees go? Worst pharmacy in San Clemente by far, I called to fill my prescription that was sent in from my Psychologist on a Wednesday and by Monday they still haven't had it filled, or contacted me. And then when I mentioned I was going to try to transfer it to another location because of how poor the service was... so what do they do? They deleted my prescription out of the system. And now I have to call my doctor again. Not only did they take forever to fill your prescriptions they have attitude, these people are clearly uneducated And should not be working with controlled substances. read more

I can see why this Rite Aid in San Clemente at 801 El Camino gets such horrible reviews. Wow, tried to refill some asthma medicine that I have gotten refilled at this location in the past, only to find out that they wanted me to contact a different pharmacy and see if I had any refills then to call them back and let them know if I have any? I've been getting this medicine for over 6 years now. This was the last straw for me I'll be switching pharmacies. Do yourself a favor and DON'T go t this Rite Aid if you don't have to. read more

The pharmacy is so efficient!!! Went here today to fill a prescription for a patient at my work. The pharmacist told me that they weren't going to have the prescription ready until Monday since they had to order it (they didn't have the right mg at this store). I expressed my concern to them...saying the patient needed the medication by tomorrow. They said they'd work on getting it ASAP and get back to me. Two hours later, the pharmacist called me and told me she had the prescription ready, SWEET!! This store and pharmacy is amazing. It's clean inside, the employees are nice...and the pharmacy is just amazing. I'll be coming back here for my med needs....or my photo needs....or my toiletry needs....or my ice cream needs....or my, well you get the point. :) read more

I went to Rite-Aid in search for a USB cable, that was double-sided the same size, I was not able to receive the double-sided USB cable, because they did not have any, and were not supplying them, I and I alarmed at the entrance, because I had a backpack on, and was told to leave my backpack, at the front of the store, I refused to leave my backpack, and was able to walk to ale18 to see if there was any doubled-sided USB cables, while searching for the double-sided USB cable the manger approched me, and and assisted with the search for the USB cable, and said my best bet was to good to best buy, that where he goes. read more

I will never shop at this rite aid ever again. I had to pick up a few things and was having a bathroom emergency and spoke with the manager who said I could use the restroom even though they closed during covid. I was clearly having an emergency. The woman that had the key refused to open the door for me, even though the manager at the front had said it was ok. I've been a customer at this Rite aid since 1977. Haven't filled a prescription at another pharmacy since 77. Decided few years ago to stay with them when CVS opened. Over 40 yrs as a customer .. Probably spent $50,000 on prescriptions. Sunday 29 Oct 2017 needed few things. Decided to drive my older Ford truck that I rarely drive. Did my business and my truck wouldn't start. Dead battery. Didn't want to miss WS game 5 So thought I'd leave it here and come back tomorrow and jump it or new battery. Went back next day after work at 4 and truck was gone. Went into store to see what's up. Assistant Mgr said we always give a car couple days before we tow. Said needed to text Manager. Came back apologizing Manager had it towed. Said he didn't know when it became affective but one day and you're gone. No warning your car will be towed.. Just tow it. On top of that no local tow company but one 20 miles away in Mission Viejo. Why wouldn't u use a local tow company? Easy!! KICKBACKS TO THE MANAGER FOR EASY NO QUESTION TOW... Cost me $310 for a $120 tow. I would guess Mgr put $100 In his pocket for referal. This is a scam that is not uncommon and unfortunately I think it is being used here. Will transfer all my RX"s to CVS and spend my next 20 yrs of prescriptions $30,000 or more there. Never will me or my family spend a nickel in this store I'm gonna have a heart felt talk with Mgr in next couple days. I'm really not happy.... read more

Worst run rite aid I've ever been in. Staff is nice, friendly, but place is always under staffed and this place always takes forever. Not uncommon for line to take 10-15 minutes with just one cashier. Don't know manages this place but I mean from a customer service standpoint it's absolutely horrible. read more

My mother and I went in to get ice cream. There were 2 registers open and both were busy, fine. But then a third worker comes to the front, Cindy is her name, looks at my mom and I and precedes to open a third register to help the people in line. After I start seeing people who came into store after us being checked out, I went and asked Cindy for help and she said I'd have to wait for the line to go down. That is bs. I had been waiting longer than those people had been in the store. It wasn't until I got in the line myself that I was finally given help, and not by Cindy. A sweet older black woman helped us. I brought my son in for his first shaving kit and some associated things. We spayed a sample of aftershave lotion on his hand and proceeded to get a lecture from an employee about how that smell bothers people with allergies and, oh it's flu season. I guess if you want to test the product with a fragrance, you have to buy it, take it outside to the parking lot, smell it, then exchange it, repeat the process. I don't think so. read more

Horrible experience. I went in for a phone charger for my car because my phone had died and found one on sale for $19.99. Perfect. Grab it and walk over to the thrifty because why not grab some ice cream while I'm here, right? Wrong. Stood there for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there and then another 10 minutes before they took our order. So I get my ice cream and have them ring up my phone charger so I can pay for that at the same time. Well it rings up at $24.99 There's a huge sign in front of my face that says, "If you item scans at a higher price than advertised then you will get that item free." Well, alright that worked out. Wrong again. I tell the guy it's on sale for $19.99. He walks over, rips off the sale sticker and the price tag, walks back, and acts like he never saw it. I point to his large blue sign and he says, "no no no, it didn't scan wrong. That's the price of the item, the sale tag shouldn't have been there it is expired." Well I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of the sign, to keep their employees accountable for not updating price tags. It's not like I came in early, they had all day to update the tag. And the tag had no expiration date on it so I'm not sure how that made sense. But he obviously wasn't going to honor the pledge and I don't like to argue with people when I know they're not going to admit they're wrong so I left. Needless to say this was the worst costumer service experience I've experienced at a rite aid. He basically told me I was lying while he argued with me about the sign. It's simple, it scanned wrong and was supposed to be on sale therefore I should have received my item for free. I really can't stand dishonest people so I don't think I'll be shopping at rite aid anytime soon. read more
