The dirty chai was the best I've ever tasted! Gold Star 100% top notch winner winner tea for dinner!!! I also got the Monkey Business cold frappe. It is a perfect blend of bananas, vanilla and cinnamon. Not as good as the dirty chai but still excellent in its own right! I left very impressed and wanting more.

"First, it will be her sisters. Stheno and Euryale. Gorgons...'Dread monsters' in the oldest texts....And yet, they have stayed by their sister's side, even though a glance from her would turn them into stone. That is love," Diana realizes, even as she contemplates that, soon, the misty cave floor under her feet will be beset with violence, meted out by Medusa's sisters, before Diana even gets a chance to explain that she is trespassing in the hopes of obtaining for Medusa the ultimate form of social justice: permanent chances for her to "look other soul[s] in the eyes...and be seen." The Black female ownership, the management, and the staff at Love Life Cafe, a snug coffee house nestled at 929 Washington Blvd in Laurel, Maryland, are fully aware how being seen is intertwined with social justice, kindness, and customer service. Black artists' drawings and paintings, some of which are for sale, adorn the walls, including "Wakanda Forever," featuring Chadwick Boseman, whom the world heartbreakingly lost too soon to cancer; "Say Their Names: Black Lives Matter," featuring Sandra Bland; whom her communities bitterly lost to police brutality; and, in a hope-filled change of pace, "Looking Up at Greatness," depicting two-year-old Parker Curry's recognition and wonder at seeing Amy Sherald's portrait of Michelle Obama at the National Portrait Gallery in March of 2018. So far, my wife has enjoyed a life-sized latte with extra hot cardamom oat milk; a life-sized cafe au Lait with the same; an açaí bowl, minus the honey and adding kiwi, pineapple, and mango; and a life-sized Hollaback Girl latte. Meanwhile, I was thrilled to devour a banana, cinnamon, and vanilla frappe appropriately dubbed "Monkey Business."

Food: I really enjoyed everything! The chocolate frangipane pastry was sweet, rich, flaky, and absolutely delicious. I also tried two of their fall drinks. The Pecan Pie Latte was buttery and toasty with a delicious pecan flavor, while the S'mores Mocha Latte was rich and chocolatey with a cozy toasted-marshmallow taste. Both were perfect for fall! Service: The staff was friendly and welcoming, and my order came out quickly. The entire experience was pleasant from beginning to end. Ambiance: Roggenart has such a cute and cozy European café feel. It's a great place to slow down, enjoy a pastry and coffee, or catch up with a friend. I would definitely come back to try more!

It's the star of the show and the rest of the sandwich that comes on it is fine but forgettable. The strawberry and custard croissant was excellent. Food was served on a heavy black slab that I wish had been a real plate. The chai latte was sadly boring, even with extra cinnamon added. The line to order went quickly and food was brought to us at our outdoor table. Our party of 2 had no problem getting a seat, but on weekends parties larger than 3 may be better off with take out.

The portions were huge, the ice cream was tasty, and the presentation was great! The staff was kind and friendly and we appreciated being able to see our orders getting made. Be warned that this is not a place for a little treat - we easily could have split one rolled ice cream and been perfectly satisfied. The space was a little small with limited seating but it was very inviting all the same. Certainly hope to make it back very soon and try more of their menu!

So, creme roulee - rolled ice cream - was a dessert trend from over 10 years ago, but I have never…read moreheard of it. This style of ice cream originated in France. Rolled ice cream is made by flattening an ultra-thin layer of ice cream out and then rolling it up. See the videos I posted if you've never experienced it. The flavors of rolled ice cream that I tried are ube and blueberry. The blueberry had a blueberry puree on top. The ube was served with whipped cream and toasted coconut. Delightful. I only wish that I had a double espresso to go with it. The flavors of rolled ice cream that are most popular here, so far, are: 1.) Birthday Cake 2.) Strawberry Cheesecake, and 3.) Cookies and cream The team here was also passionate about the ube flavor. We also tried the strawberry yogurt shake, which was delicious. BTW, someone ordered a croffle and it smelled like a buttery breakfast. It is a croissant pressed into a waffle form. We *needed* to get one to share. They have many toppings, but if you're going to order this croffle for breakfast, the plain whipped cream (vs. the mango cream) is not sweet, but creamy and satisfying. The croffle is substantial and eggy. It is very surprising because it's hearty bite after bite. There are no light and flakey bites and before you know it, it's gone. You get your dollar's worth, here. It's a good breakfast. And you can dip the croffle into your house coffee which is even better. I also put some of the croffle cream into the coffee. The house coffee is made from a machine and tastes dark and sweet. Yum. I am wondering where else you would find this no-longer trending trend - of French rolled ice cream - in the DC area. I found 10 places on yelp but only 3 mentioned rolled ice cream in the search result descriptions. The staff here are friendly, informative and patient. The environment is simple, yet elegant. A definite new texture and flavor adventure was found here, to be sure. Thank you, Laurel!
