    I went to A&R based on the recommendation of a coworker, who I would describe as a car guy…read more Essentially, if he can't do it, he takes his car here. My issue had to do with a snapped cable on my Toyota Sienna power door. It was several months past the warranty period, so I had to pay out-of-pocket. The dealership wanted to charge me $300 to just inspect the car, with estimates ranging from $1600-2000. Initially A&R quoted me about $800 to replace the cable which included parts and labor. This was a reasonable cost based on research I had done online about the level of effort to fix this issue. When my car was done, I got a call from Al saying that he was only charging me $350 not the $800 because it did not take him as many hours as he thought it was going to. He could have kept the price at $800, but he was honest about the labor duration which I really appreciated. In my experience, they are very honest. As a woman, I also appreciated that they didn't talk to me like I was stupid. They're respectful, professional and reasonable. What I will say for expectations management, is that the guys who are doing the work on your car are also the ones manning the front desk. So if you are trying to call during the day and they don't answer the phone, it's because they're working on your car. So you need to make sure that you are available to take their call when they call you because it may be the only time that you get to talk to them for the next hour or two.
