The attendant was aware of this problem and suggested to me that that was what had happened. He said there was nothing he could do even though he was the manager. They should probably fix their pumps so that you can change your selection after accidentally bumping the wrong button with the hose. The buttons are very sensitive, and you can't change your selection unless you cancel the transaction and start over. I wonder if this is why the 89 octane cost a full dollar more than the 87 octane (the wholesale price of 89 octane vs. 87 octane is only 20 cents)? It seems like a bit of a scam to me. They got an extra $17 out of me because of this! It wouldn't take too many of these "mistakes" to increase their bottom line nicely.

I had a very disappointing experience at this BJ's Gas station on Dobbin Road today…read more I've been driving and pumping gas for over 40 years, and this is the first time I've ever had this happen. I used the automatic hold-open clip on the nozzle, expecting it to shut off automatically when my tank was full. Instead, the pump did not stop, and gasoline overflowed onto my car and the ground. When I tried to remove the nozzle, the handle was still locked for a moment, making it even more difficult to stop the flow. To be fair, I shouldn't have relied on the hold-open clip, and I'll never do that again. However, the automatic shut-off is supposed to work, and it didn't. A staff member witnessed the entire incident and came over to ask what happened. While I was explaining and asking whether a partial refund was possible for the spilled gas, she walked away to continue speaking with a police officer who was handling an unrelated matter. When I asked for paper towels, she simply pointed me to the dispenser inside the building. I cleaned up the gasoline myself and eventually left because it was clear she was busy and unable to help. I'm sharing this only to warn other customers: please don't rely on the hold-open clip at this station. Stay with your vehicle and keep an eye on the pump. I estimate I lost about $10 worth of gasoline because of the overflow. I hope BJ's inspects the pump so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

When I went to pay at the machine through the car wash line I got an error message. My husband goes here occasionally and was with me so I thought maybe I swiped my card the wrong way. He told me to swipe it again in another direction. Again, I still received the error message so I tried another credit card to no avail. I had to go inside to get assistance. I had asked him a few questions about the machine but had a hard time understanding him. There was a communication barrier. I paid and on my receipt there was a code to type in at the machine. I went through the car wash and was not pleased with the outcome. It wasn't clean to my satisfaction (spotty in areas such as trunk lid and tires) and it didn't dry completely. Guess you get what you pay for. At the very least the dust was washed off. In a pinch I would come here but I would go elsewhere for a thorough wash.

Lots of times, auto are centers or lube places have very unprofessional personnel's greeting customers, you know? Anyhow, they sent someone to check the lights and said they'd give me an estimate. However, they fixed the issue while inspecting, so I really felt like I didn't have a choice but to pay. While waiting for the service, one of the guys behind the desk asked me "Where are you from?" I knew what he meant but said the city I currently live in, so he countered with "No, I mean where your parents are from." He said he knows someone who looks just like me.
