I asked the worker what they recommended. I ordered a Strawberry Cheesecake Crepe and Horchata Iced coffee. Did not disappoint!!! Yum. The crepe was very filling and could have been split The coffee isn't too sweet and i was able to change the milk. The easy listening music really added to the atmosphere. I love that there is zero pressure to tip. A true rarity nowadays. I will be back to try more of their delicious treats.

I stopped by The Chocolate Bar in the Albertsons shopping center in Highland to grab a coffee, but…read moresince I needed something to eat as well, I decided to try a few items. First off, the ambience is great. The café is decorated with cute French-themed touches, and it has a cozy, inviting vibe. The employees were also friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. For food, I ordered a turkey sandwich. It was good overall--more of a torta-style sandwich with flavorful ingredients, served on toasted white bread. No complaints there. Unfortunately, the coffee was a letdown. I ordered the horchata latte, but it tasted like low-quality coffee. I didn't really get any horchata flavor--more like a watered-down vanilla/cinnamon latte. For dessert, I tried the key lime tart. It wasn't very sweet, and the crust was extremely dry. Considering it was almost $10 for a fairly small tart, it didn't feel worth the price. Speaking of price, the overall cost felt overpriced for what you get. I paid around $30 for a sandwich, coffee, and tart, which felt steep given the quality of the items I tried. Service timing was another issue. A group came in after me, and my order wasn't started until after they took everyone else's order. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but I was in a bit of a hurry, and it ended up holding me up longer than expected. That said, it does seem like crepes are their main specialty, and judging by other reviews, those might be worth trying. If you're going specifically for crepes, it may still be worth a visit. However, based on my experience with the sandwich, coffee, and dessert, I personally wouldn't return. I genuinely wish them the best as a small business--it just wasn't for me.

I ordered my drink and had 5 dollars on my app. The drink was $5.35 so I was short 35¢ so I gave the nice girl a $5 bill. Now I know most people can't solve word problems so here is the spoiler, I was owed $4.65. A huddle ensued, and employees gathered around the cash like primates from space odyssey. They came out and then.... She handed me a nickel, seriously. Straight faced like no sarcasm or shame. I shuddered at the state of the education system at first, then I felt kind of bad. But I had to ask "What is this for?" "Your change" After I briefly explained what I owed and what I paid, another huddle ensued. This time she came out with a dollar and a quarter. Clearly we were not connecting. I said "I was going to tip you 2 dollars" She replied " just keep it" like I wanted the dollar twenty-five First of all, that was not what I was owed. So I told her to keep it all. I'm not sure if her smile was genuine joy, or just relief that I ended this word problem which had stumped her. I doubt she even tipped herself the four bucks she owed me. Maybe cash is outdated, maybe they aren't used to making change with apps and credit cards doing all the math. But please, Starbucks help these poor uneducated young ladies learn how to count and use currency. Don't let the skill die here.
