When in Japan, Boston, before a soccer game or even a staycation if there is a 7 Eleven we have to go in. ***if we are not on island if there is a time change due to distance of location from the 808 we get up in the middle of the night for a light snack and a soft drink or iced coffee or iced milk tea in a can. We did a one night overnite staycation on Monday close to Waikiki. After going to a show heading back late we stopped for pho at Mc cully shopping Center. Creatures of Habit theRe is a 7 Eleven downstairs so we headed that way. After 10 pm many shops and restaurants were closed. I'm not kidding. We had to pass a group of guys with bikes hanging around outside and it made me wary. Long ago Doc taught me just look straight ahead, don't make eye contact and keep walking. In the store somehow nothing caught our eyes so we just got 2 bottles of water and an egg sandwich with the next day's afternoon expiration date. I couldn't believe the price of their little bag of chips over $7. Guess cuz Longs goes on sale 2/$9 I couldn't . Sorry.

I've seen this 7-11 on many YouTube videos. They said that this location has items that other 7-11's don't. I had to come and see for myself. I found that they had pretty much the same things except for the Coke machine and the Fresh Blends machine. The Coke machine is the one where you can mix your own flavors and Fresh Blends just turns your coffee into a slushy. We got a vanilla coffee and watched it being blended. It was actually really good. They carry all the same foods as the other locations. I saw sandwiches, entrees, musubis, manapuas and pork hash. I just had dinner, but had to get a pork hash. I love their pork hash. I seem to be eating it all the time, the regular and the shrimp ones.

Friendly staff needed a quick bite to eat. Was on a walk so decided to try some 7-11 local eat.

7-11 in Hawaii is pretty much a mini 7-11 in Japan. Think Lawson and Family Mart but on a smaller scale. What makes it Japanese like? The Japanese snacks and ready to eat meals! They have their own line of snacks from Japan, not a lot but enough to remind myself that I'm in a 7-11 and not in Nijiya or Marukai. They have grab and go meals, mostly local food - Musubi, Bento, Loco Moco, Pasta, Portuguese sausage, Somen, Mochiko chicken and many more I wasn't able to take pictures of. Slurpee flavors include banana, melon and ube. Try the melon and ube. Slurpee is always a good idea on a hot sunny day. Well, shave ice is the best when in Hawaii but slurpee does the trick as well. Go check out a 7-11 the next time you are in Hawaii.

Located of Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki. Hawaii's 7-eleven's are way more better than the mainland ones due to all these Hawaiian foods they see for on the go people. Especially spam musubi's which you can get warm or cold. They also have other favs like bento boxes , sushi's , Pho, adobo, Manapua's etc. I got a spam musubi, mochi and a Hawaiian Sun drink. Overall the 7-eleven's here are great compared to the ones on the mainland.

Snacks in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii... 7-Elevens in Hawaii are different from those on the continental USA because our 7-Elevens have Local foods! I had to bring my friends, Jun and Aaron, here before we went hiking. I wanted to make sure that they had a chance to see the varieties of snacks that Hawaii residents enjoy. I also gave them an opportunity to select foods that they would like to have as a reward for making it up the hill to view the Makapu'u Lighthouse. Located on the corner of Kalakaua Avenue and Ena Road, this particular 7-Eleven was close to their hotel. It had sufficient parking stalls and seemed larger than other 7-Elevens. The staff was very friendly and efficient! I got the konbu ume musubi from the refrigerated section because I wanted to try it. Hmmm... The rice was on the dry, hard side. When I took a bite, some of the rice fell to the ground - evidence that the rice isn't that sticky type. I kinda wished that I had gotten the musubi from the warmer... Maybe the fish or the garlic chicken... Maybe a manapua or two? However, I'm glad that I had the taste of the konbu and ume. Oishii! I wouldn't mind taking other tourist friends to this 7-Eleven for more goodies and snacks! It's a good idea to keep some yummy food on hand for energy and a healthy blood sugar level! Maybe even eat something on the plane or take home to your family and friends!

Solid choice for a quick grab and go breakfast. I decided on the salmon musubi and the spicy ahi sushi roll. The salmon musubi is warm and I thought it was just ok. The seaweed is too soggy since it's kept warm. The spicy ahi roll was delicious and satisfying. Keep in mind the tuna roll is made with canned tuna. The ahi roll is with actual pieces of ahi tuna.

This 7-Eleven has come in clutch multiple times when I have a late night craving. There's always plenty of options to choose from regarding musubis, rolls, entree plates etc., as well as plenty of snacks and drinks. Their musubis, dynamite shrimp roll and poke topped inari are my go to picks! Cheap prices for pretty great items. Definitely worth coming by to see what selection they have!

She is so personable and a joy to speak with. She offers inexpensive breakfast bentos featuring white or fried rice, a fried egg and pieces of Portuguese sausage, bacon or frankfurter. The meat varies. It used to sell for $3 but now costs $4.50 (I think). It's still a deal and the containers are great! (We use them to hold leftovers.) During lunch she sets up an array of entrees ... Honey Walnut shrimp, Beef with Vegetables, Meat Jun, Spicy Chicken, Choi Sum, Vegetable Pancake ... the selection varies by day and she offers two or three starches. A two-choice plate ($9.75) comes with a choice of white rice, fried rice or noodles. You have to go early; she can run out of food by 12:30pm. I usually choose one chicken dish and a vegetable with fried rice or noodles. A co-worker always gets the Honey-Walnut shrimp. It's hard to find a better deal in a plate lunch in downtown Honolulu. Her drinks are "the deal", $1.25, $1.50 and $1.75, for large, larger and humongous. Add in the personable service and you have a winner! Hey, stay away, we don't want any more competition for her food. Highly recommended!

If you know what the cost of living in Hawaii is like, you know that produce, well, practically everything for that matter, is expensive. What caught my eye was the fresh sliced fruit in individual containers. If you buy fresh fruit, you know that prices can be ridiculous. The prices of their freshly sliced fruit are very reasonable and the portions are generous. The plastic containers are packed to the brim. Pioneer Pantry has become my go-to spot for fresh-sliced fruit. They also serve hot lunch items like spicy chicken, tofu, and noodles. There's a good variety of snacks such as chips, candy, and soda. Customer service is excellent and they accept mobile payment like Apple Pay and PayPal.

Located at Kukui Plaza tucked away in the back, you will have to walk pass few shops, to see the handwritten sign of " Best Musubi in Hawaii" posted on the door. Although there are bentos available & other goodies, I am mostly here for the delicious musubi. Why so good? My opinion, lets start with spam, perfectly cooked, with secret sauce, love the umami taste while I took my first bite, and the rice is hot & moist, not watery & not premium rice but it is still good, along with the nori. I loved everything about this musubi. Great spam to rice ratio. The only thing that I need is some of my chili spices! Mom & Pop is super friendly, I remember asking how many musubi's they sell a day and owner mentioned they make and sell over 100 a day. I usually park quick at the loading zone of Kukui Plaza, let the security know and walk over real quick to load up on my musubi(s). Don't forget cash only! Recommend, check it out and get your musubi fix or a quick and convenient lunch!

Every time I walk inside, there's a strong, unpleasant odor that smells like sewage or fecal matter. It's consistent enough that it doesn't feel like a one-off issue--it's something you notice immediately when you enter the store. At times it seems stronger in certain areas, which makes me wonder if it's coming from plumbing, floor drains, or possibly even outside air getting pulled in. What's frustrating is that this location used to feel like one of the better-run stores on the island. Now, the overall impression is very different. Even if the shelves are stocked and the staff is doing their job, the environment itself really affects the experience of shopping there. What stands out is the comparison with nearby stores like Safeway, which don't seem to have the same issue, even though they serve the same general area. That contrast makes the problem at this location even more noticeable. I hope management takes a serious look at it, because this doesn't feel like a minor cleanliness issue--it feels like an infrastructure or maintenance problem that's been left unresolved for too long. It's a shame, because the store has a lot of potential and used to be a go-to spot.
