Today, on 07/11, we came in for their highly advertised "Slurpee Day," where each customer gets a free small slurpee. Arriving at 8pm, we were not greeted, and the store was uncomfortably warm. Despite the influx of customers coming in for slurpees, both machines displayed "Sorry, slurpee machine is out of order". A total of six dispensers. What are the odds? When I asked an employee if the machines were genuinely down or just turned off to avoid giving out more free slurpees, he barely made eye contact and continued cleaning, confirming they were out of order without any apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. I had four disappointed children who had eagerly anticipated this special all day. Even if we wanted to buy a slurpee, we couldn't. The same thing happened last 07/11 when we came in at 7pm, with the same excuse. Frankly, I believe the owner is just being cheap, turning off the machines to avoid distributing free slurpees. DO NOT COME TO THIS 7-ELEVEN. The staff and owner of this store is dishonest. I have placed orders for pick through door-dash multiple times. When I go pick up my items, the front desk tells me that I cannot longer pick up my DoorDash items because it exceeded 2hrs. What in the world is this type of policy? Even when I showed up right pass 5 mins of the 2hr mark, they would not give me the items. Mind that, these are just packaged items like drinks and snacks. The staff showed me screenshot that the items were cancelled, but I never get a refund. ALSO MY DoorDash order history shows the order is COMPLETED. NEVER CHANGED to CANCELLED. I have to deal with DoorDash customer service to get a refund back. Go and spend your money at a store that has better people, honesty and moral. These people don't deserve your money. They want to earn your money by tricking you and doing dirty scams. read more

On July 11 (which happened to be a toasty 110 degrees), I was elated when my son asked me if we could visit the local 7-Eleven to obtain a free Slurpee (the date 7/11 is National 7-Eleven Day). It has been decades since I last "celebrated" 7-Eleven day; therefore, I was curious about the kind of crowd that we would encounter. As we approached the parking area of this 7-Eleven we could see a line protruding from the entrance. My initial thought was that we find a less busy location; however, we observed that the line was quickly dissipating. Three minutes later, we were being greeted by a friendly employee who poured small-sized Slurpee's of the respective flavors of our desire. Sadly the employee was thrown off-guard by my son and I not only greeting her, but thanking her for the service provided. Beware -- dishonest handling of pickup orders. I placed a pickup order through DoorDash for this 7-Eleven at 12:00 PM and arrived at 2:20 PM. The employee told me my order was canceled due to being late, but I checked the app and it was already marked as completed, meaning they claimed I had picked it up -- which I didn't. The beer I ordered was still sitting on the counter, but they refused to give it to me. When I called the store again to explain the issue, they admitted they marked the order as complete because I was "late," even though there's no official policy saying you lose your order after a certain time. Then, when I told them I would be reporting the issue, they hung up on me. I contacted DoorDash support, and they said the order was marked as "delivered," so there's nothing they could do. I basically paid for something I never received, and both the store and DoorDash are refusing to take responsibility. This is shady and unacceptable. The guy in the front charged us for two drinks because he said we threw one away... without warning us. It was so petty and he should have just warned us about it next time. HORRIBLE. I was coming from a road trip yesterday wanted some taquitos and a Slurpee, come to find out THE EMPLOYEES AND MANAGER ARE NOT WEARING A MASK TO SERVE THE FOOD. They obviously think that with a plexi screen it's all safe, but me being a germophobe and havent gotten the vaccine just yet, I refused to get food from here because of this reason. But regardless, if you're working with food considering our world's circumstance wear a damn mask. I would've asked them to put on a mask before handling my food, but it was already in the rotisserie top to cook. This really isn't okay with me especially me knowing that I work in a restaurant or with food in general I'd want to make sure my customers feel like they are being fed HEALTHY and not contaminated food. Not all 7-Eleven stores are the same. This location in Elk Grove is clean and spacious. They sell Union 76 gas which is a positive. Good service provided which is always nice. Been to too many 7-11's where service has been terrible. Really the only negative that stood out to me is no fault of the store. Just not crazy about the location. Was tough to enter this store's parking lot. Heading east on Elk Grove Blvd, it is much simpler to go to AMPM. This store is not conveniently located if you are driving from the West. So based on this one experience, I'd drop by here in the future (if it wasn't out of the way). read more

I quite liked the service and selection at this new 7-Eleven/gas station. 7-Elevens can really vary in quality, so it was nice to see one that looks well-maintained and ready to serve. I came in on a whim, because I was in the neighboring shopping center, wanted a coke and was looking for solar eclipse glasses. (This was right before the big solar eclipse, to put that in context.) They didn't have the glasses but they had the drink and all the 7-Eleven prerequisites like a slurpee machine. The lady behind the counter was quiet and sweet. Not good for a new place that just opened. It's Tuesday, so I ordered a Mega lottery ticket from the clerk and he gave me a Powerball. I told the clerk you gave me a Powerball ticket and not a Mega. He emphatically said you asked for Powerball! I told him no I didn't and don't argue with me. Return this ticket and give me what I asked for. His older co-worker stepped in and quickly granted my request. I told the younger clerk I will never come back here because you have a f-cking bad attitude and like to argue. Why would I order a Powerball on a Tuesday? Today is Mega. He's an idiot and still has a ton of room to mature. He will lose a lot of customers acting that way! Worst 7-Eleven I have ever been to. The girl who worked here was incredibly rude. It may be new and clean but she was rude to everyone in the store and glaring at people like we were a nuisance. To make matters worse twice there has been a be right back 5 min sign with the doors closed...for a convenience store it's not very convenient if they are always on break. read more

Terrible customer service. Stay away from this place. Clerk denied our reward on the app as it conveniently "disappeared" on our phone. Although I had called ahead of time to ensure they were participating, he still did not show any sympathy for us driving all the way there and not receiving our reward.
