The staff here is so disrespectful and the manager does nothing. I stopped in to get drinks for my son and I. While checking out I showed him the barcode in my app to scan when the guy proceeded to try and snatch my phone from my hand. I pulled it back and said don't try to take my phone out of my hand. He got visibly agitated as he said he was moving it closer. I said you could simply say you need it closer don't snatch it from my hand. At this point he got verbally aggressive and told me that I could just leave. He stayed this was the entire time I checked out. I asked to see the manager and he told me I would have to wait. I asked his coworker to go getthe manager and she came out. She apologized and said she would talk to him but the whole time he is still running his mouth to me telling me to leave. She is standing next to him the entire time he is doing this and does nothing to stop or correct the behavior. Worst part is he admitted to being new hire. I will start off by saying that this happened a while back, but I feel it's just as important to retell now for the safety of other women. I have a stomach problem that, when it acts up, makes it imperative to use the restroom. My boyfriend at the time was on Fry Street and I was on my way to pick him up, about 2am. My stomach started to hurt something fierce, so I stopped here to use the restroom. I walk in to two gentlemen behind the counter, no greeting of any kind. Fine, whatever. There were three, late teen or early 20s, guys in the store. They were being obnoxious, but the bars just closed so it is to be expected. I make a beeline to the restroom, lock the door, and proceed. Suddenly, i hear the three guys start making a ruckus outside the door, banging on the door, and actually start attempting to pick the lock. When I say they were trying pretty hard to get in, I mean that I am lucky they were too drunk to be very coordinated, otherwise they would have succeeded in getting in. The restroom is right next to the front counter and I find it absolutely abhorrent that the people working there did NOTHING to intervene. These guys were not quiet whatsoever. I had to call my boyfriend at the time to come get me out of there. Luckily he came running and scared them off. Ladies, never go here alone at night. I frequent this 7-11 more often now since I live nearby and it's right off campus. I'm assuming it's a couple who owns it(if not, sorry), but they're very friendly and attentive. Favorite 7-11 in the entire world. I lived in an apartment behind the store for a few years and honestly I could get anything I needed from this place. It's small but they have an awesome selection of drinks, beer, healthy snacks, pantry staples, cleaners, pet food, you name it. The store is always very clean. The owner, despite what some other reviewers have said, is the one of the most genuinely wonderful people I've ever known. I have to admit I don't even know his name, but every time I visit, he's an absolute joy. If I had a kid in high school I would 100% have them go work in this store because I'm certain he would be a positive influence. He does post surveillance camera photos of people who steal from the store but... Just maybe don't shoplift? And you'll have a great time. read more

Until recently, I used to come in here with my two daughters after school and spend about eight or nine bucks on drinks and snacks to reward them for their good grades and their efforts. Yesterday, my daughter bought a bag of chips and the bag was a factory reject with only a few chips in it. She showed this to me in the car before we left. So immediately, I went back inside to get it exchanged. The rest played out like something from a bad comedy. I showed the bag with the paucity of chips to the clerk and he demonstrated complete indifference as well as a myopic disregard for what would be obvious to anyone examining the mostly empty bag. In other words, he acted as if there was nothing wrong with the bag. But when he just flat out told me that I had to call the owner to get it replaced. I was stunned. When I asked him why he said, "...because I don't know if you ate half of them already." Not being some sort of a clueless crackhead playing mind games for chips or something, I naturally I took offense at this insinuation. After I confirmed the phone number because of his illegible handwriting, his annoyance and tone finally got the best of me and I commented on his poor customer attitude whereupon he replied that he didn't like mine as well. Can you imagine? Saying this to a father who just moments ago stood there and purchased snacks and drinks for his two daughters? I was stunned. For a moment I had forgotten that this is what you get when your customers (mostly students) are like a captive audience and don't have many options. I remembered that this was the same 7-11 that took over a year to fix the lock on their bathroom door. That same door that I had patiently guarded many months ago the request of a female student who had no choice but to cower behind a door she had to try and lock with a pencil. So after calling the owner and relaying the event to his son instead, I decided to go home and see how much money I was spending there. Get this, even with my few visits at about $8 a pop and other quick visits for myself, I calculated that I spent about $1153 over the course of a year there. I never realized that it was that much. After talking with the owner's son I came off with the impression that he wasn't used to someone making this big a deal over a bag of chips. And that even though he was willing to reimburse the amount with another bag, I got the impression that he didn't get or didn't really perceive the BIG picture that this wasn't about a bag of chips it was about the potential of thousands of dollars over the course of a few years saying adios to a place perceived as having shitty customer service and employees hardened through months of dealing with socially clueless college students with entitlement mentalities. Despite this clerks rudeness to me, I can somewhat sympathize and understand what he is going through as I used to do what he is now doing. But the owner of the place I worked for years ago in another state was a visionary. He never saw customers as a captive audience or as peasants who would quietly accept mediocrity and being treated with suspicion and apathy. He knew that every customer was an individual and that inexpensive bag of chips and soda had an phenomenally cumulative effect in the grand scheme of things. And that by treating one person like a potential thief or like garbage, he could conceivably lose thousands of dollars over the course of transactions that could go on for years. I conceive that this is something lost to the management and the staff of this place, who seem more concerned about shrinkage and ponying up a $20 lock for their bathroom door. Lucky for me the Racetrack and the QuickTrip nearby as well as the Howdy Doody are well within a reasonable distance as I can easily drive my car there and receive better service and a better selection of drinks and snacks for my girls. Location and convenience isn't everything. Sometimes, you just have to take your principles ( as well as your $1,153 a year elsewhere). My suggestion is that if you have the way and the means, that you do the same. I mean, why spend money where you're not appreciated? If you're the owner of this establishment, and you had both the patience and the literacy to read this long dissertation, please tell your son thanks for offering to replace my bag of chips. Perhaps you might impart upon him the knowledge that a rude clerk and your draconian Doritos exchange policies just cost you over a grand a year in business. 8/17 Update. And I still live in beautiful Denton within a couple of miles of that place. As the years have gone by, I still have never returned for any reason. Nor have either of my two daughters. This 711 really sucks. Firstly, ALWAYS get a receipt when you go there. Even if it's only for chocolate milk, funyuns, or Hubba Bubba, or Slurpee. I just noticed that I ALWAYS have had to Request a receipt. Today they acted as if I didn't need one then the guy did REPRINT receipt. This is very important to have because these people treat many as if they are thieves and you always want to make sure that you have one. I was just in there a few minutes ago and they acted so rude. Firstly I'm used to going to my regular California 711 where they always said, "Good morning, Good Afternoon, Hi or they at least SMILED at customers. " That made us feel welcome. At this one there was only a couple of students in there today and I went in and I saw the guy with the beard eyeball me then I said "Hi." he didn't say anything. Then I saw the ASian manager there and he was looking HATEFUL and he just looked at me really nasty like. I didn' t like his facial expressions and I had a overwhelming feeling that they didn't want me in the store. So I got my items and I paid for them. I usually buy gasoline there, snacks, and lotto tickets. but today I realized I don't have to shop at this crappy store. The store is not far from UNT campus and it would work out fine, but they are rude and just not very kind. I don' t like how they act. They act like I MUST shop there and that my money does not even help them out. I also bought a greendot reload card there two months ago and it's supposed to take up to 30 minutes for me to add the funds to paypal or to my debit card for online purchases. Well guess what? It took 3 days. YOu know why? The 711 processed it but for some reason it never showed up. I had the receipt. I had to email GREENDOT in CAlifornia send them a copy or receipt and all this info and explain what happened. I tried calling 711 and of course they acted like they put money on card it should be there. If it aint then someone must have stole it or I'm lying. I told them that it kept saying come back in 30 minutes even after an hour had passed. I quickly realized I needed to contact GREENDOT for sure. IN my opinion something FISHY went on there at the 711 and my money was not on the card until 3 days later. That was CRAZY. I thought that I lost the $100. So after that experience I had stopped shopping in there but the other day I got gasoline and today I actually went in there and sure enough I thought you know I don't have to shop here these people especially the guy with the beard and the ASian dude are really RUDE to people. If the students from UNT and surrounding neighbors would stop shopping there they might change their attitude but as it stands they don't even think that they are BEING RUDE and treating people crappy. I sometimes long for the old TEXAS ways where people were nice, said, "Hello" and if you had a problem you could speak to a manager and get it resolved. They treated all customers with respect and friendly. Sure they might have some BAD people come in but I'm not one of them. I do not like shopping here and I will not spend anymore money at this particular 711 on 1415 W Oak Street in Denton TX 76201 they are rude, they treat customers like CRIMINALS or THEIVES. They don't restock some drinks. their gasoline is not that good either. I do like the one on University and also the one on TEASLEY if I MUST go to 711 I am willing to drive past this one out of the way just to get lotto tickets, coffee, newspaper, etc. But never again will I spend my hard earned money on a store where they act like they're a Compton Ca liquor store shop owner. Seriously these people seem to HATE customers. I don't understand why nobody can feel that and why they keep going there. A person could end up with a police record shopping there because they are so rude and have such crappy attitudes towards people. I understand there is no crime for being RUDE, NASTY, and not caring about customer service. I get that but I like to go to places where I feel positive energy and feel welcome there. So I will only spend my money at stores where they treat me nicely and with respect. If a person can't say, "Hello when I speak to them." or they look at me funny as if they don't want me in their store then I am not spending money there. No problem. The issues we have is most people will continue to reward bad behaviors. When people are rewarded for incompetent, lowsy, or bad service then they NEVER fix the problems because they feel that we need them and will shop there regardless. I got gas at this store on 06/05/19, I selected the regular gas and was charged premium. I spoke to the cashiers inside . They looked at their machines behind the counter and it also said regular unleaded. Now the manager is saying I must of hit the wrong button and will not refund me the difference. I know I did not hit the wrong buttom as I NEVER get premium in my car. I feel I was cheated and I will never go back to this 7-11 for gas again. read more

I was patronizing this 7-11 for about a year because it is close to campus. Their customer service was average at best. When I did have a complaint about a fountain drink that I purchased, Brian L. basically told me to F*** off. That's really just being nice compared to the way he treated me. It would have cost them next to nothing to replace it. I could not believe how badly they were treating me. I ended up calling and speaking with the owner, and that person was just as rude if not more so. I tried to explain the value of customer service and the man literally said that the market would dictate how well they would do. It appears they have no need for customer service. Turns out these two men were father and son and had no intentions of making things better with me. I have never gone there again, and will never. Anytime someone asks for a ride to this 7-11, I take them elsewhere. Stay far away from this store! read more

This place's owner uses profanity(f*ck you), points fingers, yells and shouts at you the moment you point out a justified discrepancy to them. The store manager had put a wrong label and when I questioned the price he said "Ae you, can't you see what tag it is," he threateningly pointed fingers at me, profaned and yelled at me to get out. By that time I have had already purchased something else, which I returned. This was not the first time I was getting such treatment but this was bad enough for me to call the police. I called the 7 eleven corporate support # 9728287011, and lodged a complaint. Please call them again if you get similar treatment- in order to get this person fired or to get this store shut down. I do not feel safe to go to a neighborhood store that is so obscene and rude. I do not know his name, but ethnicity looks east asian. Grace and Daniel are probably the most friendly people I have come across in customer service! To the people giving bad reviews in regards to the service, come on! You know you are doing something wrong and are taking it out on them...because you don't like the price of something or you most likely were probably caught stealing something in which they have every right to curse at you and get you out of their store! Let's be real and be an adult and own up to our actions. Usually, if a cashier ever feels negatively toward you...it means you are doing something you shouldn't be. If you actually pay for your stuff like a normal human being and are not shady about it...there should not be an issue. I shop at this 7-11 constantly and have never had an issue.
