While we were wandering around Oakwood Mall, we swung by the food court just to see what the options were. I spied a boba place as we looked around. Tim talked about how Rocky Rococo has weird pizza slices. I said if he's getting food, I'm going to grab some boba... so that's what we did. I always find boba menus confusing. After having been to a handful, each one does their menu a bit different so it took me a little bit to parse what I wanted. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and super patient while I decided on the black tea oreo boba with tapioca pearls in it. She was able to whip up the drink in just a few minutes and then I made my way back to where Tim was scarfing down his strange pizza slice and breadsticks. I stabbed the straw through the seal and started sipping... and what a sip it was. While I was hesitant on what I ordered, it was delicious and just what I needed to recharge my battery. Each sip was better than the last. While I was waiting for my drink to be made, I noticed on the side menu an option for a Royal Black Milk Tea. When I come back in 2025, that is going to be my choice of drink. The oreo drink was dang good but this sounds more like my kind of jam. There is also a Star Cup in the downtown area that I hope to visit next time.

Kind of a strange vibe in the cafe because most of the people in there were hotel guests but it was still a nice atmosphere. I saw this place when I first visited Eau Claire but never got the chance to go. I told my friends that when we hang out for vacation, my only one real request is hitting up ECDC at some point. Not because I love rock music but because I love the ingenuity of the name... and maybe because it reminds me of AC/DC every time I think about it. We popped in on our quiet day and were greeted with a really nice coffeehouse and some really nice baristas. I ordered my usual americano while Tim and Matt got drinks and a small baked good. We took a seat at one of the tables and just chatted and talked about our plans for the day. My americano was really good. I noticed americanos up around Eau Claire were more subtle and subdued versus back home, which by this point I was getting used to it. Tim and Matt both got a latte that sounded good to them and a baked good. Matt got a macaroon and Tim got a tiramisu cake square. I don't have much to say about this place that I haven't said a million times already. It was really nice inside. It had a very black theme to it. Maybe inspired by being somewhat named like this one hard rock band? There were some Star Wars meditating posters in one corner of the dining area. We didn't stay long before we slowly sauntered on to our next destination but I am 110% glad we stopped in and finally got to check it out. It was definitely worth the wait. Check it out sometime if you are in the area and need a break from the chain places (or try one of the other good places to get coffee in the area, which is what I suggest). I feel like he goes the extra mile to make sure that the shakes taste just like their names! I also do believe, this is also the only Herbalife spot in this area that uses real fruit with their fruit shakes. And let me tell ya, u can tell the difference. We received two large strawberry smoothies with boba but didn't realize until we took a sip and were already pulled away. We went back through the drive thru to tell them their was a mistake and they proceeded to take the smoothies back that we had already drank from and put the smoothie and the boba back in the blender to blend the boba into the smoothie instead of remake with no boba. So when we got our new smoothies they had all the casings from the boba mixed in the smoothie it was disgusting to have little sacks in our smoothies. We were so frustrated we just left. This happened 1/14/24 between 410-425pm. I reached out to them about this experience and never heard anything back.
