So what can I say. This place has a few shortcomings but the location and the majestic spirit of the mansions surrounding you is unforgettable.
Any part of the season is beautiful at this neighborhood. Summers are lush and the area is drowning in the greenness of surround trees. Due to the abundance of ancient trees, if it snows, heavy branches covered with snow will make you think you are in a winter wonderland.
The building is old but well kept. Common areas are always clean and neat and this is important to me. There are no bad smells, there are no roaches, mice, or loud residents.
If something breaks, you would have to text Yelena - the landlord a few times but that's OK. If you check out her Facebook page, you would understand that a broken drier is not on her priority list but for me it is OK. She is a nice lady and I had a great time having her as a landlord.
I complained a few times that the washers were eating my coins but not starting the cycle, and I got reimbursed. Eventually, washers and driers are fixed but it may take a couple of text messages to the Management.
You are 4 minute walk to busses 22 and 36 that run every couple of minutes in the rush hour. Fullerton Red Line is 15 min walk. Lincoln park and the lake are a short walk. If you are bored, just walk in the hood and you will never stop being amazed by the scale and magnificence of the houses surrounding you.
Arlington-Deming historic district stole my heart. 633 W Deming is a cute little building in a sleepy peaceful neighborhood. If I could afford to own a place in this area, I would buy it in a heartbeat but I don't have this kind of resources for now.
I would highly recommend renting a place in this building if you can afford it. Trust me, you won't regret. read more
