I originally came to this dentist because it was close to my home. They take my insurance and they are open late. I appreciate the thoroughness of Dr. Wang and Assistant Jenny. They got me set up for cleaning and cavity fillings. They showed me the exact teeth that needed care and walked me through the filling process. It was reassuring since I am nervous with this stuff. Their assistant Ethan was also helpful in scheduling and calling to remind me of my appointment. 1st and foremost, I go in and get my dental exam. Then they come back to me and say that I have a 8400.00 out of pocket. They tries to explain or better said justify why! I then called my provider and I find out that I'm 100% covered, no maximum cap, no deductible, no co-pay but that some procedures might need approval. That being said, why did I received a 8400.00 out of pocket charge. With no approval or denial if that was the case. I called my provider and they have no record or a call or activity through the imfomus portal. No record or any requests what so ever! Needless to say I will not be getting any services at this facility and report them to my provider. Maybe they can make a decision as to whether they should remain in network. This is my first time coming here with my dad and it was an amazing experience. My schedule is always on call so I was lucky to get a same day appointment that morning when they had a recent cancellation. They accept most insurance like Medicare, Blue Shield, etc. I found out my dad wasn't covered anymore like we thought, but 626 Dental Care was still able to accommodate with a generous discount for new patients which I so appreciate! My dad hadn't been to the dentist in almost 50 years, so a lot of work had to be done. Dr. Wang and his staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They explained everything where it was easy to understand. They are also multilingual! Parking is free and spacious. The office was clean and comfortable and we were treated very well. I am extremely disappointed in this office. Front desk personnel need to have a better understanding of billing procedures. My husband was charged, although we provided insurance information second visit was denied because she stated waiting on authorization. Their high pressure sales peer pressure game is intense. Insurance said they never received any claim from 626 Dental so they literally made me pay the full amount out of pocket instead of having insurance actually cover what they would've so I didn't have to borrow money to pay them in cash and be thousands of dollars in debt. Do yourself a favor and ask for pre-authorization for any treatment plan with your insurance before doing any dental procedure so you know how much out of pocket you actually need to pay and they cannot overcharge you. read more

Jenny, his assistant, is very helpful when answering any questions or concerns from the patient. They're very gentle with the patients' mouths. My mother had crown and a bridge sent out for resizing. When she returned to have the bridge placed back on the dentist struggled for hours to insert the bridge. Not only was she uncomfortable for several hours but he cut her tongue in the process!!! Pressured us to get a "care" something credit card. 1500 was for undisclosed charges and upon inquiring they said they would remove it after I said I didn't want their services. I realized they tried to scam me 1500 and never came here again. Edit: Business owner claiming I am a competitor posting fake reviews. This is real experience. I was nervous about changing dentists because we have had an amazing dentist for the last 10 years, but when our insurance changed we had to find one that took our new insurance. We searched Yelp, the dental board, Google and asked our friends and found 626 Dental. The dentist literally took his time and explained everything to me and my 4 kids around everything we needed (my daughter needed sealants and my son needed a scaling because he brushes once a year ). The dentist was knowledgeable and funny and made me feel super comfortable. The dental assistant ( I think he was the assistant) literally gave me the best cleaning and polishing I have ever received in my life. I've had over 10 dentists over my lifetime of 50+ years old, and I never ran into a business like 626 Dental Care that tried to make me sign up for all of the "necessities" that my teeth needed. I had one tooth with an issue, another one with another issue, and a few other things - I had no pain or no emergency. They tried to ring me up for 1000+ dollars. The staff here said "That's how it works", and even tried to pump it up like a bad stock and said something to the effect "he cares for the whole patient" like some Herbalife sales lady. The staff must get commission. I called my insurance agency and they even thought that their business practice was strange. THEY REFUSED TO DO ANY PROCEDURES UNLESS I PAID FOR ALL PROCEDURES. I was here today because this is my assigned dentistry through insurance, and is 5 mins walk from my house. I needed one cavity filling done and they recommended over $1200 of unnecessary services(necessary according to them). Then I asked if I can get just the one filling done with insurance. They told me I have to do all the recommended procedures, and that's the price after discounts(i think they meant insurance but they probably used the word discountso much it slipped out). I questioned not only why do I have to pay but why is a filling so expensive? I have to pay $240 for a single filling with insurance? Their reply was "Oh this is the price for the doctors way of doing it, he clean out all the cavities and put in fillings that's why is this price" That took me a good second to process.. Did I look dumb today? At age 31 did they really thought this was my first visit to a dentist? Why would they up sale me this aggressively?? I got out of the place asap. I booked an appt in Nov, briefly looking at the 4 stars rating. Similar experience to LT's posting on 6/4/22, I had HMO in network, with said cost for fillings based on the booklet listing 55 per filling. I was charged with 3300, with insurance is around 1300, about 150 each filling. I went to another dentist in Arcadia and they advised me I only have to cover for the amount mentioned in the HMO book at 55 per filling. So to hold accountability, I requested for their explanation to charge me 150 per filling. I had checked with my HMO insurance regarding this office and they confirmed that the cost should be at 55 per filling for in network service. If you would like a good dentist, it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion elsewhere. read more

Same day UPDATE: I want to thank Dr Wang for reaching out to me almost immediately after I posted the below 3 star post. I've updated to 5 stars due to his prompt response to my concerns. He clarified that he initially did not do the fluoride treatment because they want kids to have a positive experience and often times parents are worried when their kids cry, but of course I, as the parent, have the option of giving them permission to administer the treatment. We ended up coming in the same day of the review. Everything went smoothly and they did not cry at all! I debated on deleting my original review, but I decided to leave it instead, to show Dr Wang really follows through and genuinely cares for his patients. ------------ Original review: I really wanted to like and have my kids stay with this dental office. Their office looks clean, spacious and organized. However, I only gave them 3 stars (and I think this is generous) because they refused to apply fluoride for my 3 year old toddlers claiming they are "too young". I was confused - their previous dentist would literally just smear some special fluoride paste on a tooth brush, brushed it onto their teeth really quickly, BOOM BOOM, DONE. No eating/drinking for 30 minutes and we were on our way. However, this dentist office disregarded my concern when I told them their previous dentist has applied fluoride for them with no problems. I messaged the children's doctor about this and she said they are definitely not "too young" for Fluoride and she's not aware of any special instruments needed to apply it. She suggested I find a new dentist. However, before I find a new dentist, I'd like to give this dental office one more try by informing them of the doctor's comments. If they still refuse, I'll have no choice but to find another dentist that is willing to provide this necessary service for my children. This review is nothing against the staff or the dentist. All were very kind and polite. I just wanted to inform other parents with toddlers that this dentist does not apply fluoride if that's the service you are looking for. I just moved to the area and came across this dental office when in urgent need of care. My tooth chipped off and it was apparent I'd need major work. I called and was seen same day. Dr. Wang and his staff are all very professional and down to earth to speak to. I had great conversations with them all throughout my process. I didn't have dental benefit card and Cynthia made it easy by helping me verify coverage. I needed a root canal and luckily I was able to be seen and treated the same day. I have always heard this procedure is really painful but Dr. Wang made sure to check on me and ask if I could feel anything so that he could help and add more medication for numbing.
