This is a food truck in Street Eats, a food truck in the parking lot of Hillcrest (Mall). It specialises in fried chicken. You need to wait a while for you order, but it's worth it Had the Southside Chick burger. While the bun was a little small, there was lots of excellent fried chicken in it - crispy, juicy & tasty with great sauces. It's more filling than it looks due to the amount of chicken inside. The accompanying fries were a small portion but they were fantastic too - dusted for extra crunch, and crispy with a good savoury bite.

I'm not gonna lie, this was the only reason my boyfriend and I wanted to visit The Ex this year lol. We both got the Bombay Hot Chicken Sandwich which came with crispy chicken, a tasty sweet chutney and coleslaw. The sandwich really flavourful and had great texture, but I have to knock off points for the fact they used chicken tenders instead of a chicken patty -- the chicken kept sliding around and falling out of the sandwich. The chicken sandwich itself was not hot at all, which was disappointing because I love spicy food. Also, this is more of a preference thing, but they should've added more cilantro as well. The 1 bite that had cilantro was by far the best bite! The fries were great too, they had a crispy texture on the outside which complimented the creamy dips. Overall this place was definitely worth the visit and I'd be down to try their other menu items when I have the chance.

I tried out the 6 spice rack at the Scarborough Town Centre Street Eats food truck event. They have a wonderful variety of food and options! I got the Bombay Hot Fried Chicken. It was a delicious and flavourful chicken sandwich with an Indian twist. I would definitely recommend this if you wanted a change on the classic chicken sandwich. Flavours were well balanced, portion size was good, and the food was served nice and hot. Just a tip, lines can get long. You may need to wait about 15 minutes for your food to be made after you order.

I was at the Hillcrest Mall Street Eats Market and I guess I should have followed my gut and left when I only saw three trucks (only two were open) on a Saturday afternoon... but my first experience at 6 Spice Rack was so good I decided to go anyway. I ordered the KFC as a sandwich as I did the first time and it was sadly disappointing compared to the first. They initially just gave me the chicken patty only with fries and when I went back they said they've never do the KFC as a sandwich.. well I do have picture proof that they did as in my last review of this place.. maybe I was unclear when ordering this time. As I walked away after bringing this up, a few customers asked me what I ordered and as soon as the worker saw that he called me back and offered me the bun "for free". The chicken was still crispy but I remember the first time it had just the perfect condiments to make the sandwich epic. It was also a much smaller piece of chicken compared to the first time and their instagram posts. Anyhow, the fries were still as good as the first time but a much smaller portion. I think I saw a post about them leaving the Hillcrest Mall market shortly so double check if you still plan to go.

We tried 6 Spice Rack for the first time at the Scarborough food truck lot close to Town Centre and this spot did not disappoint. We've tried their Bombay Burger, KFC burger (Korean Fried Chicken), the Mama Mia and the Butter Chicken Fries as well as the Butter Chicken Mac & Cheese. All the items were crazy delicious, juicy and cooked to perfection! My favorite is the KFC, and least favorite is the Mama Mia (which is good, but not as good as the KFC or Bombay style burgers). We've already been back twice and will definitely go again if we can! The only real downside of this place is the wait and service! The man taking the order has messed up both times with my order and be prepared to stand at least 20-30 minutes outside while they cook one burger at a time. Their service and operations definitely have room for improvement - they need to have quicker turnaround times (15 minutes or less) and their staff needs to be more attentive.

Fried chicken is good, huge portion (2 pieces of chicken). The garlic aioli that comes with the fries is really flavourful. Also tried the butter chicken mac and cheese which was really good. Lots of ooey gooey cheesy goodness.

Each container was of premium quality, but the standout was how well the fried chicken was packed. It was absolutely amazing! Here's what we got: Cheez Ball (6 pcs): A perfect appetizer. I tried them while they were still warm, and each piece of fried dough was filled with a savoury, gooey cheesy centre. These chewy goodness never got old, and I could have easily eaten the entire order myself. It was the perfect way to start the meal. Pelicana Fried Chicken Boneless Large (Half): These two-bite boneless chicken pieces had a thin, crispy, and well-seasoned batter. They were juicy inside, and each piece was perfectly cooked. I loved how every bite balanced texture and flavour. Pelicana Signature Chicken Boneless Large (Half): The other half of our order featured the same crispy chicken, but this time tossed in a sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy sauce. The sauce was generously applied, enhancing the already flavourful chicken. The balance of sauce, batter, and meat was spot on. Snow Fries: A great side to complement the chicken. The fries were crispy and topped with a sweet, cheesy powder. However, the seasoning wasn't evenly distributed, so the fries at the bottom didn't get much flavour. I ended up dipping them in the signature sauce, and it worked out perfectly. In terms of value, while the quality justified the price, I felt the portions could have been more generous. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would order again if I'm in the mood for a little splurge.

Unlike other Korean fried chicken counterparts like Mymy or BBQ chicken, S-Rank specializes in takeout orders because its chicken dishes can stay super crunchy while also perfectly marinated. I also particularly appreciated how the menu provides different sizes, so it's perfectly okay for you to solo a meal (with its chicken sandwich, lunch special, or other snack options). The price is also very reasonable. The exterior of the kitchen is super low-key. You need to really find it (see my picture). The store is small, but that also allows you to see how organized and clean the kitchen is--a major green flag. The service was quick and friendly. However, since all food is made fresh, you should order ahead online, or you'll need to wait a bit. I'll be back often with friends or by myself!

It's takeout only and they recommend ordering 20 mins before pickup so it's ready. They were not selling the UFO fried chicken sandwich so I was a little disappointed. Note there's a non spicy version too so order the right one. Chicken was all very crispy and not greasy. The poutine was good with one of the longest cheese pulls I've seen but no squeak in sight if that's the type of poutine you enjoy. All the fries were soggy by the time we got home. It was also put on the bottom of the bag and left partially open. This got squished by the chicken boxes and the gravy went all over the bottom of one of the chicken boxes. Bit of a packing miss. Would come back if in the area for the sandwich but overall I felt it was a bit pricey for what we ordered.

My vanilla cream soda was yummy, but this place doesn't offer any sugar-free drinks at the fountain machine. I neither got my sweet and sour sauce, nor a biscuit. I have eyed dropping by this Kajun Chicken and Seafood eatery for a while. I'm normally in this plaza for Montreal-style bagels at St. Urbain Bagel Bakery. I changed things up by heading to Kajun for lunch. I rarely have any issue finding a parking spot. I backed into one steps away from the entrance and walked in. Staff were talking to one another when I walked in. I was the lone customer. I realized why staff were huddled around. The young woman who took my order was new. She had support around here. Nice! They were friendly. I wanted fish tenders. I asked what the difference was between a combo and a super combo. The new staffer said that the combo gives you a side and a super combo gives you two sides. I ordered the three fish tenders combo. I wanted macaroni salad as my side. The woman staffer said that I wanted fries. The man had heard me say macaroni salad. This interaction alone already made me think that my order was going to be screwed up. I was right. I was asked twice by the woman who wasn't a great listener what sauce I wanted. I said sweet and sour. She let me know that it would take a bit of time to deep-fry the fish tenders. Fair. I asked for a cup for my drink. I got it and hit the fountain machine. I was disappointed that this place does not offer any sugar-free options. Instead, I went with a Barq's vanilla cream soda with some ice. It was cold and bubbly. It was so good. Before I left, I got a refill. It took maybe ten minutes to get my order. I was happy when the new staffer called me. I thanked her and left. The fish tenders were excellent. Each was was flaky and delicious. The light coating around each one was crispy. I ate them without my sweet and sour sauce. Staff forgot to give me some. I read the combo deal online. It's supposed to come with a biscuit. I never got one. The macaroni salad was yummy. The macaroni was al dente. It was flavourful. Maybe I'll order through a mobile app next time and see if my order is accurate. I don't fault the young woman who was learning everything. It's a combination of being trained by more senior staff who have a few issues to resolve. The woman staffer who was supporting the new one should have been better at listening to my answers to her questions and holding a higher service standard. Perhaps having these adjustments in place would ensure that my order was complete. I was the only customer there. My order shouldn't have been as messed up as it was. (430)

We were lured in through some mail in ads that showcased their daily specials. which are pretty great. When we were there it was $15 for a burger with a side and a pint of beer or $2 less for pop. We each got one of those and ordered a lb of wings to share as well. They serve wings in the original format which is less breaded and the breaded version is bigger and more crispy and maybe caloric. We opted original for the wings and fries. For our burgers, we went for veggie sticks and an upgraded bowl of salad to balance out the meal. I'm just surprised that the greens were super fresh for a bar. I'm so used to crappy old salads from a pubs. Burgers were nice and juicy. Wings are as consistent as I last remembered it. The server even allowed me to customize a sauce blend because it wasn't too busy that night. We even peeked at their drink menu and cocktails are like only $8 something and it's regular price. Staff can unlock the door remotely. For years, I backroad it home from work. I pass by Centerpoint Mall and rarely drop by. I just haven't had a need to be there. I have mini goals. One of them is to visit every Jollibee in the greater Toronto area. I had this goal in Winnipeg, which was easier to achieve with three locations. I knocked this Jollibee at the mall off my list last Wednesday. I came here after work. This eatery has a separate entrance from the mall. It makes sense that if the mall is closed, you can still get your Jollibee fix. Mall entrance 6 is next door. It was a bit sad to see Pickle Barrel gone. It was the last time I dined at this mall, which would have been next door from Jollibee. I got here at around 3:30 pm. I found a parking spot in the middle of the lot. I backed into the spot and walked over to the eatery. This Jollibee has patio seating in the summertime. I walked in and there was a bit of a lineup. It allowed me to figure out what I wanted to eat. At Jollibee, I do have a regular order. However, I wasn't that hungry, so I didn't go with a side order of spaghetti. It hurt a bit, but I'll be back for some soon. I got Alyanna at the order area. She was friendly and patient with me. I got these items: - Two burger steaks with steamed rice - Pineapple quencher - Peach mango pie I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. She gave me a receipt with my order number. I waited patiently for my order. It didn't take long. I forgot to get my rewards QR code scanned. I realized when I got home that the app allows you to claim it with the special long code on the receipt. The app is glitchy. I entered the code and got an error. I did it again and it said that I had redeemed the code. So confusing! It turns out that my first attempt took and I got my reward points. Yay! The error code needs to be fixed, as it's misleading. Anyway, my order number was called out. I approached the counter. Another woman made sure that my order was correct and then handed me my tray, as I had mentioned that I'd be dining in. I thanked her and went to find a spot to sit down and eat. There are tables and seats. It was busy at this hour, but I found a table towards the restaurant's mall entrance. When I exited the mall to shop, I noticed that there are more seats to sit down and eat. I'll start with the pineapple quencher. It was sweet, but yummy. I always find that I go through this drink fast. I end up getting a refill of Diet Pepsi. I did that once while enjoying my meal. Just before I headed out, I filled it up again. My go-to meal is the two burger steaks. I love the mushroom sauce that I mix with steamed rice. It's so comforting. I love the sliced mushrooms, the sauce, and the yummy burger steaks with perfectly steamed rice. It's my favourite dish. I had a peach mango pie for dessert. It was crispy with a lot of peach mango filling. It was excellent. I needed to use the washroom. It required a code to unlock it. I went over to the order counter and asked another female staffer if I could get the code. She said that she could unlock the women's washroom from where she was and I could head over there. Well, another female staffer had made her way over to the washroom and used the single stall first. When she exited, I got to use it. It was clean and spacious. No complains. Some folks will say that eating at Jollibee is expensive. My meal was $20 after taxes. I'd say that it can be expensive. However, I don't eat here often and I'm at peace splurging when I do crave Jollibee. I'd return here for more good eats. It's a good stop between the office and home to grab a bite and relax. (155)
