I am so glad I finally gave them another try because coming here during the week and eating inside was a stark difference. I was in the mood for sushi so I ordered steamed dumplings and a couple of rolls I believe they were Alaskan roll and probably either a salmon, tuna, and or yellowtail. The server I wish I remember her name was so sweet and gave me some great recommendations of drinks to try. Because this was a couple of months ago I believe I can't remember the drinks I had. But I do remember the Hennessy and strawberry drink was my fav! I do believe I ordered something to go be it I can't really remember...lol. But I do know it was so hot outside and the air quality was trash because of the wildfires in Canada. They had it freezing cold in there and this is why I always have a hoodie in my car. I will be back...

Super delicious & great service! I went at an odd time so there weren't a lot of customers so our service was wonderful! We asked for the women final four game to be turned on and they were able to turn it on for us. We ordered fried rice and two sushi roles. It was so delicious!! Will be back for sure!

I've been here a few times before, but this most recent visit was really disappointing. It felt like the quality of the sushi had gone downhill, and the overall experience felt uninviting. The atmosphere: The restaurant is spacious, and I like it when the outdoor area is open since it has a shaded setup and a fire pit. Otherwise, there's still plenty of indoor seating. The food: We started with the Korean Fried Chicken in the soy garlic flavor, which was probably my favorite part of the meal. It came out hot and crispy. We also ordered two rolls, the Double Toro Roll and the Double Salmon Roll. Both were drenched in a Japanese dressing or soy-based sauce, which caused them to fall apart almost immediately after picking them up. The flavor was overly sour and salty, making it hard to taste the freshness of the fish. Overall, the balance of flavors felt completely off. We also tried the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Bites, and to our surprise, the only crunchy element was a small part of the outer rice shell. Everything else was chewy and overloaded with mayo, so it wasn't a favorite for us. The service: The service was a bit touch-and-go throughout the meal.

Food was mediocre and not very memorable. Ordered the 4-piece nigiri, scallop roll, drunken noodles, and the surf and turf roll. The menu offered a huge variety of dishes, which often signals a "jack of all trades, master of none" situation. That said, the service was great! Friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the food itself fell short. The flavors were underwhelming, and nothing really stood out.

This place rocks for trivia on a Monday day night. Trivia is Mondays at 7 and if you get there before 7 their awesome happy hour is half off all drinks plus some food specials. They have a varied menu that includes sushi and a variety of Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai dishes. It's a much more varied menu than most Asian restaurants. The 54 old fashioned is unique and tasty since it uses Japanese whiskey that has a spicier taste than your usual drink. The beef bulgogi is a must try, it's a large portion of lean and tended well seasoned beef in an enjoyable sauce and it comes with a large portion of rice and salad. The place is in the Springfield mall so there's usually lots of parking but the lot was packed a few days before Christmas. I enjoyed coming here for trivia and will be definitely be back here.

Service was good, food I would rate 3.5. I had their pork belly on skewers, that was flavorful. I also had their bento box, yakisoba, and shrimp fried rice to go. Volcano roll was delicious at the restaurant but didn't travel well going home. The bento box did not look appetizing. It was worst than cafeteria food. Shrimp fried rice was ok and so was the yakisoba. Maybe I'll try again next time but overall for me was meh.

Food was seasoned well, tasty, and our waitress was gracious and helpful with recommendations. The hostess needs further training in how to deal with the public though. I found her rude.

I am 54 restaurant and let me tell you, the food is amazing. The service is expectional. The place is a vibe and the decor is some nice art work. I definitely would recommend coming here especially if you like sushi. The music is also a vibe.

54 is a big, spacious restaurant with lots of seating, a big bar area and a big kitchen. For a weekday lunch, it was quiet. We ordered shrimp & veggie tempura app and Tokyo street fries. Both app's came out quick, hot, and tasty. My rolls (spicy crunchy tuna and shrimp tempura) were a bit of disappointment: They were doused in sauce and toppings and the shrimp tempura looked and tasted overcooked. Service was great at first and then the waiter was nowhere to be seen (literally) towards the end of our meal when we were trying to get our checks and leave. This isn't a bad place, so long as you're not looking for authentic anything.

Loved this sushi place! Though their menu had much more to choose from than just sushi. Had plenty of seatings and overall I really liked the aesthetics of it. They had a high top tables and a bar area. Our server was incredibly nice and helped us with our drink selection. Even more perfect that it was during happy hour! I believe I had the Passion Fruit Moscow Mule, and I really enjoyed it. It was mixed just right and felt refreshing even from the first sip. My friend ordered a different drink, and she enjoyed hers as well. And of course you already know I HAVE to order fries whenever it's on the menu. The Tokyo Street Fries here was delish. I honestly think I liked it more than the sushi. But you already know I'm a bit biased when it comes to fries. I have to say though, the wait time to get our food out was incredibly long. Don't know what happened, if they had forgotten about us or if the queue messed up, etc.

4.5 Stars rounding to 5 Stars. Not everything was perfect yet rounded off to 5 stars when you see the overall rating of our experience. 54 Restaurant is conveniently located in the Springfield Mall and very easy to find. You can access the restaurant from the parking lot outside of the mall. Despite the parking lot being crowded on a Sunday , it was not crowded in the restaurant. The ambiance was clean and spacious area with many empty tables & seats. The hostess escorted us to our seats and had no knowledge of the specials that day. Specials of the day were posted by our seats. For Sunday $5 drink specials: mimosas, screwdriver, and Bloody Mary drinks. I ordered the Asian Orange & Melon Screwdriver or Mimosa. It looked attractive and tasted like citrus & melon with vodka. I savored it and drank it slowly. Good price for the quantity & quality of the drink. We both ordered Crab Rangoon appetizers = excellent choice. They were cooked perfectly, and the best crispy yet succulent delicious Crab Rangoon we ever ate in our life. I ordered Tuna Trio Sushi Roll for the Tobiko, flying fish roe and scallop sushi roll. My husband ordered shrimp fried rice. My sushi rolls tasted good and had an orchid flower for decor . My husband liked his shrimp fried rice when it had yum yum sauce on it but he still thought it was too spicy for him. Our server was nice yet still new & learning the menu. We didn't mind and he was satisfactory as a server. He even gave me a to go cup with ice for me. They do give military discount with ID. Overall price of one cocktail, one appetizer, two sushi rolls, and one entree of shrimp fried rice with a 20% tip included was $53. Very fair and good price for two people. Definitely plan to come back when they have $5 margaritas. 54 Restaurant is my favorite sushi restaurant in our area so far. I love the food and how it is conveniently located by the mall if you want to shop before or after you eat. The specials they have are worth trying out. The sushi is one of the best here and the crab rangoon is perfection. Sunday is very ideal due to the lack of crowds in the restaurant and the drink specials on that day.

Ambiance of the establishment was large and modern. Service was alright - our waiter messed up my order which caused a delay eating our dinner, no check up from him after he took our food away, we guess he was embarrassed to come back to our table, but we know mistakes can be made! No check ups were what made us unsatisfied with the service. Food on the other hand, we would not necessarily come back for, maybe the sushi is their statement piece, but as far as their other man courses go, we'll choose elsewhere. It's a just like a modernized mall food hibachi establishment (like the same Japanese hibachi you'd see in the mall food court in the back of Springfield mall). Also feel like the quantity of food you get for the price is not a fair trade for the price. Nothing special to be entirely honest!

    Bibimbap
    Keisha H.

I came here with a friend for lunch early in the afternoon, so there was no lunch rush yet. We sat at a high top table in the bar area and were greeted pretty quickly by the bartender. We started with drinks and since mimosas are $5 (at least on Sunday) we started with those. I've never had a hibiscus mimosa so we tried those first and it was quite good. I ordered the bibimbap in whatever the stone bowl thing is and it was really good. The spicy sauce it comes with helped add the kick that I really enjoy. The bulgogi in the bibimbap was really tender too. It was very filling as well. I didn't finish it all in one setting. The bartender made one small mistake but really made up for it. There are plenty of TVs in the bar area and the space is nice and open. Seems like not a bad place to come drink for happy hour. Overall I enjoyed my lunch experience and I'll be back.

Unfortunately, I have not had a good service experience here. I visited a couple of times during the World Cup because of their advertised drink specials, and both visits ended with us being overcharged. When we questioned it, the staff gave what felt like the same rehearsed explanation each time. Before ordering, we specifically confirmed with our server that they were running the $5 rail drink special. By definition, a rail (or well) drink is made with the house liquor and a standard mixer. At JMT, however, you'll be charged extra for every little addition without anyone telling you beforehand. A splash of cranberry juice or tonic water resulted in additional charges that were never mentioned by either the server or the bartenders. On top of that, a 25% gratuity was automatically added despite our server being largely inattentive. Throughout the night, we repeatedly had to get up and ask for things ourselves, and not everyone at our table even received a cup for water. To make matters worse, both their menu and website clearly state that automatic gratuity applies to parties of 8 or more, yet our party of 6 was automatically charged 25%. When we brought these concerns to our server, he spoke with the manager, whose response was simply, "That's how we do things here." He explained that he wasn't familiar with the drinks because the bartenders determine the charges, and that it would be difficult to void and reprocess the bill. We were also told that they always add 25% gratuity for parties of 6 and that, in their view, a rail is simply a shot rather than a mixed well drink. Those explanations directly contradict both common industry terminology and the information advertised on their own menu and website. I understand that restaurants and bars get busy, and mistakes happen. What was disappointing was being told that they've been operating this way for a long time instead of acknowledging the inconsistencies or updating their advertised policies. That reflects poor management more than an isolated mistake. It doesn't feel good to invite friends somewhere only to have everyone end up paying more than expected because the advertised specials and gratuity policies don't match what is actually charged. I can't say how often this happens, but after experiencing it on multiple visits, I'd strongly recommend reviewing your bill carefully before paying.

Our server was absolutely fabulous in every respect. On our visit there was an auto-tip of 20%. But because our server was so good, we added extra tip. As is typical in Korean barbecues, each table has its own grill. The server will cook your meat for you. For our first round of meat, we ordered the Hawaiian Beef and Pork belly. What makes the beef Hawaiian is the bits of pineapple in the meat. Both the Hawaiian beef and the pork belly were excellent. For our second round, we ordered the spicy chicken. JP loved it! With your meat, you get sides. We requested the steamed egg and corn cheese. The steamed egg is made with broth and is delicious. The corn cheese was good. In addition, you're provided with steamed rice and an excellent salad made with nice fresh lettuce and a tasty vinaigrette. But wait, there's more! You also get banchan. The kimchi was extra good and so were the banchan dipping sauces. And there's still more! With your ACYE meal you can go to the buffet table laden with treats like spring rolls, tempura sweet potatoes, kimchi pamcakes, two different kinds of noodles, chicken wings plus a few more snacks. To complete our meal, we were given ice cream bars on a stick (vanilla ice cream with a dark chocolate shell). This was very good ice cream. You betcha we will be back, we really love Gogi's! Side note: the Menu link is broken on Gogi's web page, so refer to Yelp's Gogi photos to see the menu. Also, it would be nice if they left a menu at the table so you can have a better idea of what to order for subsequent requests.
