It doesn't make sense to get food here unless you're already there and just looking for convenience. The staff are usually nice but often young and a bit lost. The food isn't good. They used to have a very bomb Asian chicken salad. They don't have it anymore, and while they've expanded their options, it's just not what it should be. Pizza is basic and expensive. Fries are often either over or undercooked. The pricing is inconsistent. Never get the member discount even after saying I'm a member. Wings... so not worth it. Their ranch also isn't the good kind.

I really hate leaving negative reviews, but I think people should be aware before visiting…read more JMT has a clean environment and is usually a fun place to watch games. Unfortunately, I have not had a good service experience here. I visited a couple of times during the World Cup because of their advertised drink specials, and both visits ended with us being overcharged. When we questioned it, the staff gave what felt like the same rehearsed explanation each time. Before ordering, we specifically confirmed with our server that they were running the $5 rail drink special. By definition, a rail (or well) drink is made with the house liquor and a standard mixer. At JMT, however, you'll be charged extra for every little addition without anyone telling you beforehand. A splash of cranberry juice or tonic water resulted in additional charges that were never mentioned by either the server or the bartenders. On top of that, a 25% gratuity was automatically added despite our server being largely inattentive. Throughout the night, we repeatedly had to get up and ask for things ourselves, and not everyone at our table even received a cup for water. To make matters worse, both their menu and website clearly state that automatic gratuity applies to parties of 8 or more, yet our party of 6 was automatically charged 25%. When we brought these concerns to our server, he spoke with the manager, whose response was simply, "That's how we do things here." He explained that he wasn't familiar with the drinks because the bartenders determine the charges, and that it would be difficult to void and reprocess the bill. We were also told that they always add 25% gratuity for parties of 6 and that, in their view, a rail is simply a shot rather than a mixed well drink. Those explanations directly contradict both common industry terminology and the information advertised on their own menu and website. I understand that restaurants and bars get busy, and mistakes happen. What was disappointing was being told that they've been operating this way for a long time instead of acknowledging the inconsistencies or updating their advertised policies. That reflects poor management more than an isolated mistake. It doesn't feel good to invite friends somewhere only to have everyone end up paying more than expected because the advertised specials and gratuity policies don't match what is actually charged. I can't say how often this happens, but after experiencing it on multiple visits, I'd strongly recommend reviewing your bill carefully before paying.

This is a honest review. The goal is for the restaurant to improve. Please don't delete it again…read more Food wait time was extremely long ( more than 45 mins) even though the restaurant was practically empty. The food tasted like it wasn't prepared by a real chef, or more like it was made by someone who had never even tasted their own cooking. It explains why the restaurant was empty vs. full house when it first opened. Honestly, any Korean restaurant in the DMV area is better than this. I don't understand how someone can screw up Korean food in Korean town. Every restaurant in the area gets better and better. Competition is high. The price is on the high end. I don't mind paying even more but please deliver in terms of food quality. They are 100x worse than my last 5 visits a while back. I'm a foodie with over 5k dmv followers. Please take this as a feedback to improve. I dine out everyday reviewing restaurants. When I say this is bad, this is bad. That's why this review comes from my 1 star review account. Back to 19xx.

I post up here to work all the time during the week and it's perfect for it: chill vibe, comfortable, easy to settle in for a few hours and actually get things done. The food is genuinely good across the board. I haven't ordered a single thing I regretted. Drinks are on point too, and the hookah rounds it all out. It's the rare place that nails all three. The staff is what really seals it. Friendly every time, they make you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. And the range is what makes it special. During the week it's a laid-back work-and-relax spot, but on the weekend it turns up into a whole vibe. Same place, two moods, both excellent. If you're looking for somewhere to grind solo or link up with people later, this is it. Highly recommend.

We decided we would try another recommended spot, hopefully with better service.

For what you get, the $25 per adult price is reasonable. All the tables in the front dining room were taken, so we were seated in the larger rear dining room. Our server was absolutely fabulous in every respect. On our visit there was an auto-tip of 20%. But because our server was so good, we added extra tip. As is typical in Korean barbecues, each table has its own grill. The server will cook your meat for you. For our first round of meat, we ordered the Hawaiian Beef and Pork belly. What makes the beef Hawaiian is the bits of pineapple in the meat. Both the Hawaiian beef and the pork belly were excellent. For our second round, we ordered the spicy chicken. JP loved it! With your meat, you get sides. We requested the steamed egg and corn cheese. The steamed egg is made with broth and is delicious. The corn cheese was good. In addition, you're provided with steamed rice and an excellent salad made with nice fresh lettuce and a tasty vinaigrette. But wait, there's more! You also get banchan. The kimchi was extra good and so were the banchan dipping sauces. And there's still more! With your ACYE meal you can go to the buffet table laden with treats like spring rolls, tempura sweet potatoes, kimchi pamcakes, two different kinds of noodles, chicken wings plus a few more snacks. To complete our meal, we were given ice cream bars on a stick (vanilla ice cream with a dark chocolate shell). This was very good ice cream. You betcha we will be back, we really love Gogi's! Side note: the Menu link is broken on Gogi's web page, so refer to Yelp's Gogi photos to see the menu. Also, it would be nice if they left a menu at the table so you can have a better idea of what to order for subsequent requests.
